The device must not be used for shredding compost material, as personal injury or damage to property could occur. Do not use this product in any other way as stated for normal use. Not observing general regulations in force and instructions from this manual does not make the manufacturer liable for damages. WARNING Risk of injury The shrub shears must not be used for cutting grass, hard branches and wood or for shredding compost material. Requirements for operating sta The operating sta must carefully read the Opera- tingInstructions before using the appliance. This appliance has not been designed to be used by per- sons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of knowledge or experience. Qualication: Apart from the detailed instructions by aprofessional, no special qualication is necessary forappliance using. Minimum age: Persons over 16 years of age can only workon the appliance.An exception includes youngs- ters trained in order to reachknowledge under super- vision of the trainer duringoccupational education. Local regulations may stipulate the minimum age of the user. Training: Using the appliance only requires corre- spondingtraining by a professional or the Operating Instructions. 2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adap
ter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrige
rators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditi

wellery. Keep your hair, clothingand gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/ or the battery pack from thepower tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storingpower tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.18
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,breakage of parts and any other condition that may aect the power tool’soperation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly main
tained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. 5) Battery tool use and care
a) Recharge only with the charger specied by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of re when used with another battery pack.
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Hedge trimmer safety warnings Keep all parts of the body in safe distance from the knife. Do not try to remove the material being cut or hold material to be cut when the knife is running. Jammed cuttings to be removed only when the machine is o and the battery taken out. A moment of inattention when using the hedge trimmer may result in serious injuries. Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. Whentransporting or storing the hedge trimmer always t the cutting device co
ver. Properhandling of the hedge trimmer will reduce possible personal injury from the cutter blades. Hold the power tools by the insulated handles as the cutting knife may come into contact with hidden cables/lines. If the cutting blade contacts a live cable, this may make metal parts of the device live and could give the operator an electric shock. Additional safety warnings Keep children and other persons including animals in a safe distance when using the appliance. Minimum safe distance is 5 m. Wear suitable protective clothing such as sturdy shoes with non-slip sole, robust long trousers, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection! Do not wear loose clothing or jewels. Hear, clothing and gloves must be out of reach of moving parts as they could get caught by the rotating parts. Do not use the appliance when barefooted or in open sandals. When being blocked, turn the appliance immediately o and remove the jammed item. Before work, check the area for any hidden items such as wire fences. When working, keep the appliance rmly with both hands and with a distance from your body. The ON/OFF switch and safety switch must not be locked. Check all screw and plug-in connections and protective equipment if rm and tightened properly and whether all moving parts are running smooth whenever the appliance is to be put into operation. The protective equipment on the appliance is strictly prohibited to be disassembled, changed, used in conict with the designation and it is prohibited to attach any protective equipment of other manufacturers. The appliance must not be used if damaged or safety equipment is defective. Replace any worn-out and damaged parts. Do not use the device near ammable liquids or gases. Risk of re and explosion in case of short circuit.

lators. Never open or damage the accumulator or let it fall on the ground. Never charge the device in the vicinity of acids or highly ammable materials. Protect the device from heat and re. Use the device only in an ambient temperature between 10 °C and +40 °C. Never put the battery on heaters and do not expose it to strong sunlight for a long time. After being subject to heavy load, let the battery cool down rst. The Güde charger to be used only to charge the battery. There can be malfunction or re if dierent chargers are used. Vapours may leak out in case of unauthorised use or when using a damaged accumulator. Bring fresh air and seek medical advice if experiencing diculties. Vapours may irritate the respiratory system. Working Instructions The devices are supplied only partially pre-charged and must be fully charged before rst use.19
- Recharge the device if it runs too slowly or stops.
- The device can be recharged at any time without shortening its life. Interrupting the charging process will not damage the battery. Maintenance Repairs and works specied in these Instructions may only be performed by qualied authorised sta. Use only original accessories and original spare parts. Keep the device, in particular the air vents, clean at all times. Never spray water on the device body! Never clean the machine and its components with solvents, ammable or toxic liquids. Us only a damp cloth making. Apply environment-friendly oil to all moving parts. After each use, clean the cutter bar carefully. Wipe it with a cloth immersed in oil or apply metal treatment spray on it. Blunt, bent or damaged cutter bars must be replaced. Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insucient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries. Disposal The disposal instructions are based on the icons pla- ced on the appliance or its package. Any damaged or disposed devices must be delivered to appropriate collection centres. Dispose of the batteries in an environmentally friendly manner. Li-ion batteries are subject to the special disposal ob- ligation. Have any defective batteries disposed of by a specialised shop. The battery must be taken out before the appliance is scrapped. Damaged batteries may harm the environment and your health if toxic vapours or liquids leak out of such batteries. Dispose of the batteries when discharged. We recommend applying an adhesive tape on the poles to protect them against short circuit. Never open the battery. Transport packaging disposal The packaging protects the machine against damage during transport. Packaging materials are usually chosen based on environment aspects and waste treatment principles and are therefore recyclable. Re
turning the packaging into material circulation saves raw materials and reduces waste production. Parts of packagings (e.g. foils, styropor®) can be dangerous for children. Risk of suocation! Keep parts of the packagings out of reach of children and dispose them as soon as possible. Guarantee Warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and com- mences on the day of purchase of the device. The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused by material defect or manufacturing defect. Original payment voucher with the sales date needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period. The guarantee does not cover any unauthorised use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorised interference or caused by foreign items.
