Intended use (Fig. U)
This article is produced for application on the skin and exclusively for private use.
If the elastic article is applied to the skin in a stretched state then it does not only transfer its elastic force to the skin but also strengthens it by forming an additional textile layer.
Recent research suggests that this influences the pressure directly under the skin by alternately contract and stretching the skin when the taped part of the body is moved.
We can therefore suppose that the alternating forces stimulate the vessels and receptors in the skin. In general, stimulation of the skin and its organs can have the following effects:
| Organ Effect | |
| Ends of lymphatic vessels (1) | Draining of tissue fluid Reduction of swelling |
| Ends of blood vessels (2) | Stimulation of circulation |
| Tactile receptor in the skin (3) | Sensation of the article on the skin, particularly during movement. Altered perception of movement of the tape part of the body. Altered perception of pain. |
Indication: As we know from many forms of media, the elastic tape is used in the following areas of medicine because of precisely these assumptions: postural deficits (postural weaknesses along the entire spine), improvement of the feeling of movement in areas of
joint instability (shoulder, knee, ankle, etc.), muscle tenseness (particularly in the neck and back area), muscular pain caused by cramps, strains or fibre tears, oedema (swellings), tendonitis (e.g. on the shoulder/supraspinatus tendon or tendonitis of the Achilles tendon) and even to support the stimulation of trigger points, e.g. for the treatment of period pain. Do not use on:
- Open wounds
- Skin diseases
Thrombosis - Treatment with other methods (e.g. fango, massage therapies, electrotherapy (Electrical muscle stimulation))
If you are allergic to the materials in the article, the adhesive, or the carrier
Safety instructions
- In the event of acute injury or complex symptoms the article should be applied by a doctor or a physiotherapist.
- Keep the article out of the reach of children.
- Pregnant women should seek the advice of a doctor before applying the article.
- Never apply the article with too much tension. Restrictions should not be excessive.
-
Only leave the article on the skin for a maximum of seven days.
-
The part of the body being treated should not be completely wrapped in the article.
- Do not use in the event of skin diseases or irritation e.g. neurodermatitis.
- If oversensitivity or allergic reactions result in redness in conjunction with itching and/or swelling of the taped skin, remove the article immediately. Redness without itching and/or swelling can also be caused by removal of the tape through the stimulation of blood circulation in the skin and is normal if it fades in a few minutes.
- If problems occur while wearing the tape, please remove the article immediately and clean the area with cold water.
The problems should ease or completely disappear within a few minutes of removing the tape. If problems remain or even increase, please consult your doctor.
Use
We recommend seeking assistance from a second person for proper product application. When applying the product pretension the area of the body.
Note: the ends of the article (anchors) are always applied without tension.
Preparing the skin

- Clean the area of the body with a degreaser (e.g. soap or skin disinfectant).
- The skin must be dry for application.
Important! The area of the body must be clean, free of oil and dry.
Kinesiology tape shapes
- Measure the product length by the area of the body to be treated.
- Cut the product to size.
- Round off the corners of the product using a pair of scissors (Fig. A and B).
The following shape can be cut:
- I-shape (Fig. C)
Cut the product to the designed length and round off the corners.
Y-shape (Fig. D)
- Cut the desired product length.
-
Fold the product lengthwise to form a centre line.
-
Using the pair of scissors, cut a short section along the centre line.
- Round off the corners.
V-shape (Fig. E)
- Cut the product to the desired length.
- Fold the product lengthwise to form a centre line.
- Using the pair of scissors, cut the product two-thirds of the way along the centre line.
- Round off the corners.
Fan shape (Fig. F)
- Cut the product to the desired length.
- Turn the product over so you can see the lines imprinted on the paper.
- Using the pair of scissors, cut the product two-thirds of the way, evenly spaced.
- Round off the individual corners of the cuts.

Neck
Indication: For tight shoulder/neck muscles.
Note: In this case a second person should help you apply the product.
- Examine the pattern of the neck muscles and measure the area of the body.
- Prepare the product as an l-shape.
- Lean the head to the opposite side to tighten the neck muscle.
- Apply the product to the area of the body using slight tension. The end of the product should be secured without tension (Fig. K).
Shoulder
Note: In this case a second person should help you apply the product.
Indication: To improve the feeling of stability and kinaesthesia in the shoulder joint.
- Examine the pattern of the shoulder muscles and measure the area of the body.
- Prepare two product strips in I-shape.
- Apply the first strip onto the shoulder from the top, applying strong tension.
- Apply the second strip onto the shoulder from the side, applying strong tension (Fig. L).
Back
Indication: Apply in an upright position to counteract poor posture. Apply leaning forward to alleviate tension of the lower back muscle.
Note: In this case a second person should help you apply the product.
- Prepare two long product strips in I-shape.
- Straighten your back.
- Apply the product to the back along the right and left side of the spine without tension (Fig. M).
Thigh
Indication: For tension, cramps, strains and ruptured muscle fibres. May also help with certain knee problems, as it increases awareness of the knee's movement.
- Examine the pattern of the thigh muscle and measure the area of the body.
-
Prepare an article in the shape of an I.
-
Bend the leg to be taped.
- Apply the product to the thigh along the thigh muscle (Fig. N).
Knee
Indication: For swelling of the soft tissue.
- Prepare two product strips to fan shape to fit the size of your knee.
- Sit down and bend your knee to a comfortable level.
- Apply the product end (non-fan) of the first strip to the back of the knee.
