Frequently Asked Questions - HF 8000 Family STEBA

How to clean the HF 8000 Family fryer?
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. The pot and grid can be cleaned with soapy water or in the dishwasher. The interior can be cleaned with soapy water or oven cleaner. If the heating element is dirty, turn the appliance over and brush it. Dry the pot and grid in the appliance for about 5 minutes at 80 °C.
Can oil be used in this appliance?
No, this appliance is not a normal fryer. Do not put oil or fat in the pot, as this poses a fire hazard. Food can be lightly oiled before cooking, but not directly in the appliance.
Why does the appliance smoke?
This is usually due to overly fatty foods. Make sure to pat the food dry to remove excess grease. Clean the pot after each use to avoid residue that can smoke.
How to prevent fries from not being crispy?
For crispy fries, use rather thin and well-dried fries before cooking. Add a little oil, salt or spices, and stir halfway through cooking. The recommended temperature for homemade fries is 180 °C for 20-26 minutes depending on thickness.
What is the cooking time for frozen fries?
For thin frozen fries (300-1400 g), allow 10-14 minutes at 200 °C. For thick frozen fries, 14-22 minutes. Stir halfway through for even cooking.
Can I use the appliance without the grid?
No, the grid is essential for proper hot air circulation. Never use the appliance without the grid, otherwise food may burn or not cook properly.
What to do if the pot does not insert correctly?
Check that the basket is not too full. The maximum capacity is about 3/4 of the pot. Make sure the basket is properly inserted into the pot and that there is no obstruction. If the problem persists, reduce the amount of food.
How to change the temperature during cooking?
During operation, you can adjust the temperature between 80 °C and 200 °C using the +/- buttons. Similarly, the time can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes. The appliance adapts automatically.
The appliance beeps and does not start, what to do?
Make sure the appliance is plugged in and the timer is set. If the indicator light flashes, check that the pot is correctly inserted. After turning on, select a program or set the temperature and time, then press the start button.
How to defrost food with this appliance?
Use the 'Defrost / reheat' program at 70 °C. The duration depends on the quantity. For quick defrosting, you can also manually set a low temperature. Monitor the food to avoid overcooking.
