How to start the GELS 18 Li hedge trimmer?
To start, first push the main on/off switch to the ON position (slider to the right). Then simultaneously press the locking button (pos. 4) and the start button (pos. 3) to close the cutting blade. Release the button to open the blade. To stop, press both buttons to close the blade, then push the main switch to OFF.
What to do if the appliance does not work?
First check that the main switch is set to ON. Make sure the battery is charged and properly inserted (the click button must engage). If the problem persists, consult the error search plan in the manual. As a last resort, contact after-sales service at www.Einhell-Service.com.
How to change the cutting blade?
Turn off the appliance (OFF position) and remove the battery. Unscrew the M8 self-locking nut (13 mm), the wave washer and the washer. Remove the threaded bolt and the moving cutting blade. Insert the new blade, reassemble the bolt, washer, wave washer and tighten a new self-locking nut (do not reuse the old one). Beware of risk of injury from the blade.
What is the maximum cutting capacity?
The cutting capacity is 28 mm diameter for soft wood and 15 mm for hard wood. If the branch is too hard or too thick, the blade automatically opens to avoid damaging the appliance.
How to clean the appliance?
Disconnect the battery before cleaning. Use a damp cloth with a little mild soap. Do not use aggressive agents. Do not let water enter the inside of the appliance. You can also blow the ventilation slots with compressed air at low pressure.
Can I use any battery?
No, the appliance is designed exclusively for Lithium-ion batteries of the Einhell Power-X-Change series. Use only the corresponding Power-X charger. Using other batteries can damage the appliance or pose a safety risk.
How to store the hedge trimmer?
Store the appliance in a dark, dry and frost-proof place at an ideal temperature of 5 to 30 °C. Put the protective cover back on the blade. Keep it in its original packaging if possible. Keep out of reach of children.
What to do if the battery does not charge?
First check that the charger is properly plugged in and that the mains voltage matches. Ensure good contact between battery and charger. If the LED flashes red and green, the battery may be too hot or too cold: let it rest for a day at room temperature. If the problem persists, the battery is defective and must be replaced. Contact after-sales service.
What is the warranty period?
The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturing and material defects. It does not apply in case of professional use, failure to follow instructions, or normal wear. To claim the warranty, register the appliance on www.Einhell-Service.com with the purchase receipt.
