Frequently Asked Questions - MP240 BTA MACKIE

How to choose the right eartip size?
Eartips are provided in three types (foam, silicone, double flange) and three sizes (S, M, L). Test each combination to achieve optimal comfort and maximum sound isolation. Foam eartips compress before insertion then expand.
How to clean the MP240 BTA monitors?
Use a mild detergent solution and a lint-free cloth. Never immerse the earphones in water. Remove the eartips to clean them separately.
How to insert the earphones correctly?
Identify the L/R markings on the earpieces. Gently insert the earphone into the ear canal with a slight twisting motion for a good fit. The cable can go over or behind the ear.
What is the function of the detachable MMCX cable?
The MMCX connector allows easy cable replacement in case of wear. It swivels for added comfort and durability.
What are the dangers of listening at too high a volume?
Prolonged exposure to high sound levels (above 85 dB) can cause permanent hearing loss. Always set the volume to minimum before connecting the earphones, then increase gradually.
Can I use these monitors for sports?
They are designed for secure fit with over-ear cable routing, but moisture (sweat) may damage them. Avoid excessive exposure to perspiration and do not use them in the shower or while swimming.
What should I do if an eartip becomes stuck in my ear?
Consult a qualified healthcare professional immediately. Do not attempt to remove it yourself using tools.
Are these monitors compatible with all devices?
Yes, thanks to the 3.5 mm jack plug and included 6.35 mm adapter, they work with most smartphones, audio players, audio interfaces, etc.
What is the warranty on the MP240 BTA?
The limited warranty is provided by LOUD Audio, LLC for purchases in the USA/Canada. Keep your receipt and contact Mackie technical support for repairs.
How to replace the cable?
Disconnect the old cable by gently pulling on the MMCX connector. Connect the new cable by aligning the marks. Ensure it clicks into place.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read, follow, and keep these instructions. Heed all warnings.
  2. Do not use in or near dangerous environments. This includes driving, cycling, walking, jogging and other areas where traffic is present and accidents could occur.
  3. Keep this product and its accessories out of reach of children. Handling or use by children may pose a risk of death or serious injury. Contains small parts and cords that may pose a risk of choking or strangulation.

  4. Set the volume level of the audio device to a minimum, and then, after connecting the earphones, adjust the volume gradually. Sudden exposure to loud noises could cause hearing damage.

  5. Install the in-ear monitors firmly. If an ear tip accidentally detaches and is left in your ear, it may cause injury.
  6. Failure to use, clean, or maintain ear tips may increase the risk of the ear tips detaching from the nozzle and becoming lodged in your ear.

  7. Prior to inserting the in-ear monitors, always recheck the ear tip to make sure it is firmly attached to the nozzle.

  8. If an ear tip becomes lodged in your ear, seek skilled medical assistance to remove it. Damage to the ear may be caused by non-professionals attempting to remove the ear tip.
  9. Keep in-ear monitors clean. To clean the in-ear monitors, wash outside with a mild detergent solution.
  10. Do not attempt to modify this product. Doing so could result in personal injury and/or product failure.

  11. Do not immerse in water, such as while taking a shower, bath, or washing your face. Otherwise, sound deterioration or failures may result.

  12. Do not use while sleeping as accidents may result.
  13. Use a slow twisting motion to remove the earphones. Never pull on the microphone cord.
  14. Stop using the earphones immediately if they are causing great discomfort, irritation, rash, discharge, or any other uncomfortable reaction.
  15. If you are currently receiving ear treatment, consult your physician before using this device.

  16. Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a period of time. The U.S. Government's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the permissible noise level exposures shown in the chart. According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of these permissible limits could result in some hearing loss:
