How to open a can with this can opener?

Place the can opener on a flat surface and plug it in. Lift the piercing lever, position the can rim under the can guide against the drive wheel, then tilt the can inward. Press down firmly on the lever to lock it; the motor runs automatically and stops as soon as the can is opened.

How to clean the can opener?

Unplug the appliance. For the cutting assembly, push the release button to the right and remove it. Wash it in hot soapy water, rinse and dry. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. Never immerse the can opener in water.

What if the can opener does not work or does not turn?

Check that the plug is properly inserted and the outlet works. Ensure the piercing lever is properly engaged. If the cutting assembly does not turn freely, remove and clean it. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

The magnet does not hold the lid, is this normal?

The holding magnet is designed for steel lids. It cannot hold aluminum lids. In that case, remove the lid manually after opening.

Can I sharpen serrated knives with the built-in sharpener?

No, the sharpener is intended only for smooth blades. Sharpening serrated knives could damage the can opener and the blades.

How to store the cord after use?

Unplug the appliance, then push the cord into the storage compartment at the rear. To lock it, twist the cord and slide it into the locking notch.

Is the warranty valid outside the US and Canada?

1. Place can opener on level surface and plug cord into outlet.
2. Raise piercing lever up.
3. Place rim of can firmly under can guide and against geared wheel.
4. Tilt top of can in, to position blade inside rim of can.
5. Press piercing lever all the way down. The motor will begin turning can and cutting lid. (It is not necessary to hold piercing lever down or to hold can during cutting action.)
6. The motor will automatically stop when the can is open
   (Use flip-up magnet to easily see can position.)

To store and lock cord: When finished, unplug and excess cord into the back of unit for storage. To lock, to cord sideways and slide up into cord lock slot.

1. Place cutting edge of knife in knife slot located on back of can opener.
2. Draw knife blade through slot several times. Clean knife after sharpening.

NOTICE: To prevent damage to can opener and knives, do not insert serrated blades into this unit.
