• Wear Protective Equipment: Ensure you wear all personal protective equipment as directed in this manual.

• Eye Protection: Always wear eye protection. Any power tool can throw foreign objects into your eyes and cause permanent eye damage. ALWAYS wear safety goggles (not glasses) that comply with EU safety standard EN166. Everyday glasses have only impact resistant lenses. They ARE NOT safety glasses.

• Hand Protection: Always wear suitable gloves compliant with EU safety standard EN388

• Hearing Protection: Always wear suitable hearing protection compliant with EU safety standard EN352

• Dust Masks: Always wear a dust mask compliant with EN149/EN405 suitable for the material you are working with.

• Before each use: You must inspect the condition of the tool. If any damage is found you must not use the tool and have it repaired by a suitably qualified person.

• Check Working Area: Check your work area to ensure it is clear of hazards and people, always maintain a tidy area while working to reduce risk of injury.

• Wet and Damp: Electrical tools must not be used in wet, damp conditions or during rain, neither should they be left or stored outside. Never touch the plug or operate the machine with wet hands.

• Dress properly: Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

• Take Regular Breaks: Tiredness can result in loss of concentration and makes working with tools dangerous.

• Adults Only: Power tools are designed for use by able bodied ADULTS only. If you are in any way unsure of your ability to use the tool – do not use it.

• Training: Never use a power tool unless you have undertaken formal training in its use, there are often unforeseen factors that may put you or others in danger.

• Loaning Tools: Only loan tools to people you are sure are trained to use them. Always provide the instruction manual along with the tool.

• Medicines and Drugs: Never operate tools or machinery if you are taking medication that may leave you drowsy, or if you are under influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

• Store in a Safe Place: When not in use or once you have finished using, Power tools must always be stored in a safe place away from damp/water and not accessible to children or others. In between breaks or tasks it is important to ensure that tools are placed in a safe location.

• For Intended Use Only: Power tools should be used for their intended use only – always check the manual if unsure.

• Dust: If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust related hazards.

• Water: Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

• Explosion Hazard: Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

• Service: Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.Electrical Tools – General Safety Guidelines These are still relevant if you have purchased a battery tool and it is supplied with a battery charger.

• Use an RCD: For safe operation it is always necessary to use and RCD device which will protect you in the case of an electrical emergency.

• Operating voltage: Before putting the tool into operation, make sure that the voltage stated on the rating plate is the same as that of your electricity supply.

• Extension cables: Always ensure a cable is does not become a trip hazard by routing it safely to your work location. Do not walk, ride or place objects on the cable as it will result in damage. It is important that you are aware of the location of an extension cable whenever you are working to prevent accidents. Always protect power cables from sharp edges, heat and oil. Do not allow the cable to become knotted or kinked.

• If the extension cord becomes damaged: Pull the plug immediately from the socket outlet, do not touch the cable until you have done so.Machine Specic Safety Instructions This power tool is intended to function as a grinder or cut-off tool. Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifica- tions provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

• Operations such as sanding, wire brushing or polishing are not recommended to be performed with this power tool. Operations for which the power tool was not designed may create a hazard and cause personal injury.

• Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by BLAUPUNKT. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure safe operation.

• The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controlled.

• The arbour size of wheels, flanges, backing pads or any other accessory must properly fit the spindle of the power tool. Accessories with arbour holes that do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control.

• Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the accessory such as abrasive wheels for chips and cracks, backing pad for cracks, tear or excess wear, wire brush for loose or cracked wires. If power tool or accessory is dropped, inspect for damage or install an undamaged accessory. After inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and bystanders away from the plane of the rotating accessory and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one minute. Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this test time.

• Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and shock the operator.

• Position the power cable clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control, the cord may be cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory.

• Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental contact with the spinning accessory could snag your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body.

• Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing. Accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.

• Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials.

• Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock.

• Always disconnect your angle grinder from the power source when replacing grinding or cut-off discs, adjusting the guard, cleaning the tool or when the tool is not in use. Kickback When using an angle grinder the operator should always be aware of and be prepared for Kickback. Kickback occurs when the rotating wheel becomes snagged or pinched in the workpiece. This causes the power tool to violently jolt in the opposite direction to the rotation of the disc at the point of pinching. Kickback may cause abrasive wheels may also break or chip, an inspection of the wheel is essential after kickback occurring. Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.

• Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Always use auxiliary handle for maximum control over kickback.

• Never place your hand near the rotating accessory. Accessory may kickback over your hand.

• Do not position your body in the area where power tool will move if kickback occurs.

• Use special care when working corners, sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and snagging the accessory.

• Never attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade.Additional Safety Instructions For Grinding And Cutting-O Operations

• Use only wheel types that are recommended for your power tool and the specific guard designed for the selected wheel.

• The guard must be securely attached to the power tool and positioned for maximum safety, so the least amount of wheel is exposed towards the operator.

• Wheels must be used only for recommended applications. For example: do not grind with the side of cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheels are intended for peripheral grinding, side forces applied to these wheels may cause them to shatter.

• Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are of correct size and shape for your selected wheel.

• Do not use worn down wheels from larger power tools.

• Do not apply excessive pressure to the disc. Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut.

• If the wheel is snagging or when interrupting a cut for any reason, switch off the power tool and hold the power tool motionless until the wheel comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the cut-off wheel from the cut while the wheel is in motion otherwise kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of wheel snagging.

• Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let the wheel reach full speed and carefully re-enter the cut.

• Support panels or any oversized workpiece to minimize the risk of wheel pinching and kickback. Large workpieces tend to sag under their own weight. Additional Safety Instructions For Wire Brushing Operations

• Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush even during ordinary operation. Do not overstress the wires by applying excessive load to the brush. The wire bristles can easily penetrate light clothing and/or skin.

• If the use of a guard is recommended for wire brushing, do not allow any interference of the wire bristles with the guard. Be aware that the brush may expand in diameter due to work load and centrifugal force. Know Your Angle Grinde fyhgfgh

Carefully unpack the angle grinder. Ensure you have all the components listed in the table.

A Angle grinder 1 B Auxiliary handle 1 C Grinding disc 1 D Flange wrench 1 E Disc guard 1 Installing The Auxiliary Handle (Fig. 1) The auxiliary handle must always be used to prevent loss of control and possible injury.

• Install the auxiliary handle (1) by turning the screw (2) clockwise into the gear housing (3)

• The handle can be installed in three different positions; left side, right side or in the middle of the tool (Fig. 6, 7 & 8).

• Tighten the auxiliary handle securely. Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Fig. 3 Installing The Guard (Fig. 2 & 3) The guard must be installed before installing a grinding disc or using the angle grinder. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury. The guard must be positioned correctly to protect the operator. Guard placement depends upon which side of the tool the auxiliary handle is used, it should be positioned to give the greatest protection for the user.

• Depress the spindle lock button (1) and rotate the clamp nut (2) until the spindle locks.

• Turn the clamp nut anticlockwise and remove it from the spindle.

• Remove the disc flange (4). It will simply pull off the spindle (5).

• Pull the guard clamp lever (6) outward to allow the guard clamp to expand for installation.

• Slide the guard clamp (7) over the spindle housing (8) until the blade guard locating indents (9) fit into the groove (10) in the spindle housing

• Rotate the guard so it is positioned correctly depending upon the location of the side handle in Fig. 4, 5 & 6.

• Close the guard clamp lever (6) fully so that the guard firmly locks into position.Fig. 4 Fig. 5 Fig. 6 Fig. 8 Installing A Grinding Disc (Fig. 7)

WARNING: Always use the supplied flange wrench for slackening and tightening the flange nut.

• Lock the disc guard onto the spindle housing.

• Press the spindle lock button (1) and rotate the clamp nut (2) until the spindle locks.

• Turn the clamp nut counter clockwise and remove it from spindle.

• Place the grinding disc over the spindle with the concave side of the disc (6) facing outward.

• crew the clamp nut (2) onto the spindle with the flat side of nut facing up. Fit the raised small diameter portion of the clamp nut into the hole in the grinding disc. Tighten to finger tight only.

• Depress the spindle lock button and rotate the grinding disc clockwise until the spindle locks.

• Securely tighten the clamp nut with the wrench provided. Operation On/O Switch (Fig.8)

• To turn the switch ON, press the back of the switch slider (1) into the body of the tool. While pressing on the rear of the slider, push it forward (2) until the front part of the switch (3) engages the catch.

• When the switch “snaps” into position, the switch will remain ON and the motor will continue running.

• To turn the switch OFF, press the rear of the slider into the angle grinder body. • Always select and use discs that are recommended for the material to be ground/cut.

• Secure all work before beginning the operation.

• Secure small workpieces in a vice or clamp to a workbench.

• For maximum control, hold the grinder in front and away from you with both hands, keeping the grinding disc clear of the workpiece. Start your grinder and let the motor reach full speed. Gradually lower the grinder until the grinding disc contacts the workpiece.

• Use just enough pressure to keep the grinder from vibrating or bouncing.

• Use light pressure when grinding jagged edges or loose bolts where there is potential for the grinder to snag on the metal edge causing kickback.

• Lift the grinder away from the workpiece before turning it OFF.LI-ION Symbols The manual or rating plate on your tool may show symbols. Territorial Limitations: Any repair, replacement, or support of the Products provided under the Warranty (or any other support service offered in our sole discretion), shall be restricted to, and provided solely within, the Distribution Territory as then in effect on the date the Product is delivered to you. If you purchase a Product within a defined Distribution Territory and later transport the Product outside of the Distribution Territory, we cannot provide returns, warranty, out-of-warranty, or aftermarket support of any kind outside the Distribution Territory. Natural ‘wear and tear’ is not covered under warranty. This product is for domestic use only.
