A damaged light means danger of death from electric shock. In the event of damage, repairs or other problems with the light, please contact the service centre or an electrician. To avoid hazards, if the external flexible lead on this lamp is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their service representa- tives or an equivalent professional! Ensure before use that the available mains voltage is the same as the voltage required for operating the lamp (230–240 V∼). Ensure that the light does not come into contact with water or other liquids under any circum- stances. Always unplug the light from the mains prior to assembly, disassembly, cleaning or if the light will not be used for extended periods. Never open any of the components of the elec- trical equipment or insert any objects into the same components. This will pose a risk of fatal injury from electric shock. Preventing fire and injury hazards CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Check each bulb for damage immediately after unpacking. Do not install the light if the bulbs are defec- tive. In this case, contact the service centre for a replacement. CAUTION! RISK OF BURNS! Ensure the light has been switched off and has cooled down before touching it to avoid burns. Lights develop a lot of heat around the lamp head. Replace defective lamps with new ones imme- diately. Always remove the mains plug from the socket before replacing the bulb. Do not cover the light or the mains plug with objects. Fire can result from the excessive heat development. Do not operate the lamp unattended. Do not leave the light or packaging material ly- ing unattended. Plastic film/bags, plastic parts etc. are dangerous for children to play with. ATTENTION! Do not look into the LED from a close distance during operation. Do not look at the LED with an optical instru- ment (e.g. magnifier). This light is not suitable for dimmer or electronic switches. For your safety Only use 230–240 volt energy-saving bulbs with an E27 fitting and a maximum power output of 7 watt.26 GB Safety / Initial use / Changing the bulb / Maintenance and Cleaning Mount the light so it is protected from moisture and dirt. Make careful preparations for mounting and allow yourself adequate time. Organise all parts and any necessary additional tools or materials before starting so they are easy to reach. Always be attentive! Always pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense. Never install the light if you are having diffi- culty concentrating or do not feel well. Initial use Mounting the light Note: During installation, please ensure that you slowly pull the cable through support tubes or through the opening of the lower support tubes

into the upper sup- port tube

and screw it in tightly. Insert the upper support tube

into the mid- dle support tube

and screw it in tightly. Then insert the screwed together support tube into the lower support tube

and screw it in tightly. Note: Ensure that the mains lead, which goes through the support tubes

is not jammed. Note: Be sure to screw in the support tubes

as far as possible so the light is stable. Place the support tube onto the base

and screw it in tightly. Loosen the lamp ring

from the bulb socket

and fix the lampshade

Use a clean, lint-free cloth to insert the lamp

clockwise into the socket

. Ensure that it is positioned correctly. Plug the mains plug

into a socket that has been professionally installed. Your light is now ready to use. Switching the light on/off Use the ON/OFF foot switch

into the desired position. Changing the bulb

Turn the defective bulb

anticlockwise out of the bulb socket

Only use LED illuminants with a maximum output of 7 W and E27 base. Carefully screw the new bulb

clockwise into the socket

. Ensure that it is positioned correctly. Plug the mains plug

SHOCK! For electrical safety, never clean the light with water or other liquids, nor immerse it in water. Do not use solvents, benzene or similar substances. They could damage the light. Only use a dry, lint-free cloth for cleaning. Plug the mains plug

into the socket again. Disposal The package and packaging materials consist entirely of environmentally- friendly materials. They can be disposed of at your local recycling facility. The symbol of the wheelie bin with the line through it means that, in the Euro- pean Union, the product has to be disposed of in a separate refuse collection. This ap- plies to the product and to all components bearing this symbol. Do not dispose of products bearing this symbol in your normal household waste, but in- stead take them for recycling at a collection site for electrical and electronic appliances.
