Safety notes

DANGERTONING AND RISK
OF ACCIDENTS FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN!
Never leave children unattended with the packaging material. Danger of suffocation. Keep out of the reach of children. This product is not a toy.

BEWARE OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Leaks may result
in life-threatening injuries from electric shock. Carefully check that all connections are watertight. Also ensure that all wires of electric appliances are correct and have been securely installed.

CAUTION! DANGER OF INJURY! Please ensure that no parts are damaged and that all parts are correctly assembled. Incorrect assembly could lead to injury. Please note that washers and gaskets are wear parts and therefore will need to be replaced from time to time. Damaged parts could impact safety and function.
- When the scald protection is defective or not activated, hot water can lead to scalding. Therefore activate the scald protection as is described in Chapter „Scald protection“ and check the settings very carefully.
■ CAUTION! Be careful not to reverse the hot / cold water plaque 3. The correct position is: left = red (hot water), right = blue (cold water).
ATTENTION! RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE! Installation may only be carried out by experts. Leakage or escape of water can cause significant damage to buildings and household
contents. All connections must therefore be checked carefully to ensure that they are tight.
■ Ensure that all seals are correctly seated to avoid escape of water due to leakage.
- Familiarise yourself with all local conditions, e.g. water connections and shut-off device, prior to installation.
This product is only suitable for use in rooms with temperature above 0 °C. In case of potential frost, cut off the water supply and drain the taps.
Assembly
Note: Familiarise yourself with the product prior to assembly. Carefully read the following assembly instructions and safety advice. In the event of incorrect installation, all warranty claims – particularly in relation to subsequent damage – are excluded.
■ CAUTION! Before you start installation turn off the water supply at the mains. Otherwise there is a danger of injury and / or damage to the product.
■ CAUTION! Do not twist or strain the connection hoses.
Note: This step requires a slot screwdriver and a 12 mm open-end spanner.
Follow these steps:
■ CAUTION! Be sure to only fasten the connecting hose hand tight (see Fig. A). Do not use pliers or a wrench. Otherwise the product could be damaged.
☐ Screw the two connecting hoses 16 hand tight into the designated boreholes in the fitting body 8 (see Fig. A).
☐ Using a slot screwdriver tighten the threaded bolt 14 all the way into the fitting body 8 and remove the fastening nut 15.
☐ Insert the fitting base seal 11 into the groove at the underside of the fitting body 8 and place it over the opening on your sink unit.
Under the sink unit first place the C-sealing washer 12, then the C-metal washer 13 onto the threaded bolt 14.
Now attach the fastening nut 15 to the threaded bolt 14 and tighten with an open-end spanner SW 12 mm until the fitting is seated firmly on the sink unit.
□ Verify the swivel nuts for the connecting hoses 16 have seals 17.
☐ Screw the connecting hoses 16 onto your angle valves. Be sure to correctly attach the two connecting hoses 16 to the cold and hot water connections.
- Start-up
After the initial commissioning, carefully check all connections for leaks.
To remove any possible impurities the tap must be flushed before being used for the first time. To do this, proceed as follows:
□ Unscrew the aerator 10 from the sprayer 9.
Open the main water supply and allow the water to flow for two minutes to flush out any residues.
☐ Then reattach the aerator 10 to the fitting spout 9.
Operation
Note: If the tap has not been used for a long period, flush the pipes thoroughly to avoid stagnation and build-up of residue.
□ Open the main water supply.
☐ Lift the handle 1 and swing it to the right or left in order to regulate the speed or temperature of the water.
Hot water:
Swing the handle 1 to the left.
Cold water:
Swing the handle 1 to the right.
☐ Check operation of the mixer. To do so, swing the lever 1 into all permissible positions. Please check the connections regularly to ensure that they are tight.
- Eco Function /conserving water
The cartridge 7 in this tap has an Eco function. This feature limits the water flow through the tap. This means you can save up to 50 % water (see fig. B).
☐ Lift the handle 1 until you notice a slight resistance. This resistance will cause a stop in case of partial opening and will therefore simply limit the flow of water.
☐ If you want to increase the flow rate, exert slight pressure on the handle 1 until you overcome the resistance.
- Setting the scald protection
The cartridge 7 in this tap has a scald protection function. This function is not activated before leaving the factory (neutral setting) (see fig. C / I).
Note: Do not alter the setting of the scald protection until you have installed the tap.
Note: This step requires an Allen wrench (2.5 mm) and an open-end spanner SW 30 mm or fitting pliers.
Follow these steps:
☐ Switch off the general water supply.
☐ Remove the hot / cold plaque 3 by moving the handle 1 into top-most position and pushing the plaque 3 out carefully from inside with a long, flat object.
☐ Loosen the locking screw 2 with an Allen key (2.5 mm) by turning counter-clockwise.
CAUTION! Do not unscrew the screw completely. Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle 1.
□ Remove the handle 1.
□ Unscrew the cartridge covering ring 4.
☐ Loosen the cartridge locknut 5; this requires an open-end spanner SW 30 mm or fitting pliers.
Now pull the red hot-water limiting ring 6 upwards using a screwdriver.
Note: Press the cartridge pins slightly backwards. This will make it easier to pull up on the hot water limiting ring 6.
Reducing the hot water flow rate:
☐ Reinsert the hot water limiting ring 6 offset as shown in Fig. C / II.
Reducing the hot water flow rate completely:
☐ Attach the hot water limiting ring 6 as shown in Fig. C / III.
Deactivating the hot water flow limitation:
☐ Attach the hot water limiting ring 6 as shown in Fig. C / I (neutral setting).
After adjusting the scald protection, attach the cartridge locknut 5, the cartridge covering ring 4 and the lever 1 analogue to the disassembly.
● Maintenance and Cleaning
- Maintaining and cleaning the tap
Please note that sanitary taps require special care and attention.
Therefore, please follow the instructions:
- When cleaning, never use petrol, solvents, aggressive cleansers or hard cleaning brushes etc. These could damage the surface of the product.
Dry your taps with a cloth after every use in order to avoid the build-up of any limescale.
□ Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and a mild cleaning agent if required.
□ Unscrew and remove the aerator 10 at regular interval and remove any residues of scale or foreign bodies. If heavily contaminated or damaged, replace the aerator 10.
Note: The aerator can normally be unscrewed by hand. Otherwise use an open-end spanner SW 22 mm and be sure to place a thin, damp cloth around the aerator 10 to prevent damaging it. A pipe wrench with plastic jaws is also suitable.
Non-observance of the above care advice can be expected to result in damage to the surfaces of the product. This will void the warranty.
- Replacing the cartridge
A cartridge 7 is a wear part that needs replacing according to the hardness and / or degree of contamination of the water. This becomes evident when the handle 1 becomes difficult to move. A new cartridges 7 can be obtained from the listed service office.
Note: This step requires an Allen wrench (2.5 mm) and an open-end spanner SW 30 mm or fitting pliers.
Proceed as follows to replace the cartridge 7:
☐ Shut off the main water supply. Allow any remaining water in the pipework to drain.
Remove the hot / cold plaque 3 by moving the handle 1 into top-most position and pushing the plaque out carefully from inside with a long, flat object.
☐ Loosen the locking screw 2 with an Allen key, turning it counterclockwise.
CAUTION! Do not unscrew the screw completely. Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle 1.
□ Remove the handle 1.
□ Unscrew the cartridge covering ring 4.
☐ Loosen the cartridge locknut 5 below with fitting pliers or an open-end spanner SW 30 mm and remove the entire cartridge 7 from the fitting body 8.
Place the new cartridge 7 (Type 40 M ESV) into the body of the tap 8 in exactly the same way.
Note: Make sure that the seal is fitted properly under the cartridge 7. Make sure that the guides are in the corresponding holes.
☐ Re-assemble all the afore-mentioned parts again. Tighten the cartridge locknut 5 with fitting pliers or an open-end spanner
SW 30 mm whilst securing the fitting from twisting. This ensures tightness and prevents the lever motion from becoming sluggish.
- Disposal

The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials, which may be disposed through your local recycling facilities.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.
Information
- Potability of tap water
☐ Find out about the potability of your tap water supply. Your local water authority or water supply company will be able to inform you.
The following general recommendations apply to the potability of tap water:
- Let the water run freely for a short time if it has been stagnating in the pipes for more than four hours. Do not use any of this stagnant water in the preparation of food or for drinking. This applies particularly as far as babies and infants are concerned. Otherwise health concerns can arise. Fresh water can be readily distinguished from stagnant water as fresh water is noticeably cooler as it leaves the pipe.
- Do not use stagnant water from chromium-plated pipes for the preparation of food or for drinking or for personal hygiene if you
are allergic to nickel. This water may contain high quantities of nickel and trigger an allergic reaction.
- Do not use water from lead pipes for preparing food or drink for babies or infants. Do not use it for preparing food or drink during pregnancy. Lead dissolves in drinking water and is particularly damaging to the health of babies and young children.
- Warranty and Service
The warranty period is five years and begins on the day of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
During the warranty period defective fittings can be returned to the service address specified, carriage forward, after contacting the service department. You will then receive a new one or a repaired unit free of charge.
After the warranty period has expired, you can similarly send the defective product for repair to the address given. Repairs made after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to payment.
This warranty does not limit your legal rights.
