Steam Mop SDB 1500 A1
Introduction
Congratulations on your new product. You have selected a high quality product. Please familiarise yourself with the appliance before preparing it for use and using it for the first time. To do so, please carefully read the following operating instructions and the important safety information. Use the product only as described and for the indicated purpose. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation.
Intended use
The steam broom is suitable for use as a brush and a floor cleaner. The turbo brush removes dirt and dust from the floor and collects it in a dust container. It is not suitable for removing bulky or heavy objects. The steam function facilitates a thorough cleaning of floors made from marble, stone, tiling, parquet and hardwood under the condition that the flooring material has been treated and is impermeable to water. The pad absorbs excess moisture. The device uses the active steam output for cleaning, without using soaps or cleaning agents. The device is only suitable for household use. No other use is intended by the manufacturer. For this reason the manufacturer accepts no liability for any kind of damage which occurs to the device as a result of non-intended use. The warrantee becomes void following any non-intended use.
RESIDUAL RISKS: ATTENTION!
Do not use the device on waxed surfaces. The wax will be removed by the heat and steam. Do not use the device on untreated or water permeable floors. Do not leave the device in operation in the same spot for an extended period of time as the wood may be caused to swell. We recommend that you test the device on an area of the floor which is out of view.
Alternatively please consult your flooring manufacturer to ask for the modes of cleaning for your floor material.

Before Initial Use/Start-up
Before Initial Use
- Attaching the steam broom
Remove the device from the packaging.
Attach the motor body to the steam base (Fig. A).
Tighten both parts together using the retaining screw [2] and a Phillips screwdriver (Fig. B).
ATTENTION! Check the seating of the retaining screw regularly. Otherwise the steam base may detach itself from the device.
Press the handle release button. Lift up the handle until it clicks into place on the motor body (refer to Fig. C and Fig. D).
Preparing the steam broom
Unroll the mains cable completely. You can lower the pivotable cable winder 14 to make this easier.
Pull the release lever of the water tank upward in the direction shown by the arrow (Fig. E) and remove the water tank.
Turn the water to over and remove the seal (Fig. F).
Fill the water to the lower edge of the thread with cold tap water (Fig. G). Screw the seal back on without using too much force.
ATTENTION! In cases of particularly hard water (with a water hardness of more than 2 mmol / l), use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water.
Re-insert the water tank into the device and ensure that the water tank valve is correctly seated on the filter inlet (Fig H). Then click the water tank into the appropriate position and check for the correct seating.
Start-up
Note: You can only use the turbo broom [18], the steam function or both functions at the same time. However, we recommend that you use the two functions after one another and first use the turbo
broom 18 to remove dust from the floor. Only activate the steam function thereafter.
Note: There is a groove below the handle into which you can clamp the mains cable so that it does not hang in the way during operation.
- Switching the turbo brush on/off
Press the ON/OFF switch to switch on the turbo brush 18 (Fig. 1). The turbo brush 18 begins to rotate and removes dirt and dust from the floor, and collects it in the dust collector 6.
ATTENTION! Do not clean the turbo brush during this process. The steam base 9 could tip over or the dust collector 6 could fall down. Risk of injury!
Press the ON/OFF button again to switch off the turbo brush [18].
Using the steam function
Only use the device in well-ventilated rooms.
Remove the plug from the socket.
Use the blue pad for soft floors and the white pad 8a for hard floors. Place the pad 8 under the steam base 9 onto the relevant felt attachment 19 (Fig. J).
ATTENTION! Ensure that the water tank is full to prevent operation without water - otherwise the pump could burn through.
ATTENTION! Similarly check before use that all objects and surfaces to be cleaned are heat resistant and/or compatible. We recommend that you follow the care instructions of the manufacturer, particularly for treated terracotta and wooden floors. Conduct a test on an area which is not easily visible or on a sample piece.
ATTENTION! There is a risk that a white edge may develop on the floor if the device is allowed to rest in the same spot for an extended duration during operation. This edge is not indicative of damage! You can remove it

Re-insert the water tanks - as previously described - and continue steam operation.
Using accessories for carpet cleaning

Keep the device in a cool, dry location and out of the reach of children.
We recommend that you keep the original packaging in a safe place. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage which occurs through sending in the item to customer services in the incorrect packaging.
- Replacing the filter
Note: The filter 10 must be replaced every 4-6 months or 100 cleaning cycles (one cycle denotes use of a full water tank).
Remove the mains p from the socket when doing so.
Wait until the hot parts have cooled.
Remove the water tank.
Remove the filled by lifting it upward parallel to the motor body 2.
Replace the filter with a new one and check that it is seated correctly (Fig. R).
Put the water tank back in place.
