-Open packaging. Remove all packaging and protection materials and accessories. Do not throw packaging away before checking soup machine works properly. -Remove accessories and clean in warm soapy water to rinse off any production residues. -This appliance is designed for preparation and cooking of food and for preparation of soups, sauces, purées, cream, etc. -Before starting to use machine, ensure correct installation of lid as illustrated below. Insert lid and turn clockwise until lid is completely engaged.

(Above: Clockwise Indication marks) -The bowl is equipped with a safety switch operated by the lid to allow operation. If lid and handle are not correctly positioned, soup machine cannot switch on. Lid and measuring cup To add food or required ingredients, use measuring cup to measure desired volume. Steam may emerge around measuring cup when set to heating; this is normal.

Speed control The dial controls mixing speed. - Pulse: This function sets maximum speed; it allows appliance to cut in short bursts for a very short time (about 30 seconds). Set dial to “pulse” function. The blades rotate continuously until function is stopped. This function can be used to shave ice or to make smoothies. - Speeds 1-2-3: Turn dial to select one of the three mixing speeds. Recommended duration of preparation should not exceed 3 minutes each time.

USING SETTINGS IN MANUAL MODE

To prevent soup overflowing, ensure food and liquids do not exceed the 1400ml mark for heating or the 1700ml mark for cold preparation.16 Controlling cooking temperature:

Strong (100°C): Press “heat” button once and select the function for high temperature 100°C; button flashes, then press go / stop button to start program. Selected water temperature is maintained at 100°C (+/- 2°C), and the program adapts to increasing temperature as heating proceeds. Pre-set cooking time: 30 minutes. End of cooking: corresponding light flashes and machine beeps 4 times before returning to function selection. Mix as desired according to dial.

-Medium (80°C): Press “heat” button twice and select medium temperature function 80°C; button flashes, then press go / stop button to start program. Selected water temperature is maintained at 80°C (+/- 2°C), and the program adapts to increasing temperature as heating proceeds. Pre-set cooking time: 30 minutes. End of cooking: corresponding light flashes and machine beeps 4 times before returning to function selection. Mix as desired according to dial.

Weak (60°C) : Press “heat” button three times and select medium temperature function 60°C; the button flashes, then press go / stop button to start program. Selected water temperature is maintained at 60°C (+/- 2°C), and the program adapts to increasing temperature as heating proceeds. Pre-set cooking time: 30 minutes. End of cooking: corresponding light flashes and machine beeps 4 times before returning to function selection. Mix as desired according to dial.

PROGRAMMED RECIPESPROGRAMMED RECIPES

Smooth soup: Press “smooth” button once until it flashes, then press go / stop button to start program. Selected water temperature is maintained at 80°C (+/- 2°C) (program adapts to increasing temperature as heating proceeds). Pre-set cooking time: 25 minutes. Mixing takes place during cooking. Indicator for end of cooking: corresponding light flashes and machine beeps 4 times. Heating temperature is maintained between 75 and 85 degrees. The soup keeps hot for 40 minutes, and at the end of this time machine beeps 4 times.

-Soup with pieces: Press “thick” button once until it flashes, then press go / stop button to start program. Selected water temperature is maintained at 80°C (+/- 2°C) (program adapts to increasing temperature as heating proceeds). Pre-set cooking time: 28 minutes. Indicator for end of cooking: corresponding light flashes and machine beeps 4 times. Heating temperature is maintained between 75 and 85 degrees. The soup keeps hot for 40 minutes, and at the end of this time machine beeps 4 times.

CLEANINGCLEANING CLEANING

-Always unplug machine before cleaning. - Clean each piece thoroughly before and after each use. -Regularly check all pieces before re-assembly. If any piece is damaged, STOP USING THE SOUP MACHINE.

WARNING: The blade is very sharp. Handle with

care.17 -Do not wash bowl in a dishwasher. -Wipe motor base with a damp cloth to remove any residue and dry completely. Do not use abrasive cleaners on housing base.

Never immerse motor base in water or any other liquid. -Ensure all pieces are clean and dry before storage. - Never immerse plug, cable or machine in water or any other liquid. - Never immerse bowl in water straight after heating, but let it cool down first. Auto-clean function To clean rapidly and easily, just add about 1.4 litres water and a little detergent to the bowl, then press 3 times on Heat button to select weak heating. After 20 minutes turn off the heat; stir liquid for 1 minute and repeat procedure using clean water. This removes all food residue that might be sticking to the under part of blades. Otherwise wash the bowl in warm water. Rinse and dry carefully.

-Unplug and clean appliance. -Keep appliance out of reach of children in a dry place.

-Add lentils using a glass as measure. Cover with 6 times their volume of water. Crumble stock and bouquet garni. Add curry powder. -Press desired program “SMOOTH” or “THICK”. Just wait until machine finishes preparation. -Season with salt and pepper and serve soup. REMARK: you can enrich this soup by adding small pieces of bacon.

CHICKEN SOUP WITH MUSHROOMS

300g chicken pieces cut in strips 250g mushrooms, cut finely 1 potato cut in small cubes 10g parsley, minced 650ml chicken stock, fresh or from cubes 1 medium onion, finely minced 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 clove garlic, minced 100ml crème fraiche -In a large frying pan add olive oil and fry onion until just soft, but not brown. -Add garlic and mushrooms and continue to cook until mushrooms are soft. -Pour into soup machine with chicken stock, parsley and potato. Press program for desired consistency and just wait until machine finishes preparation. - Season with salt and pepper and serve soup with a little cream. REMARK: Using chicken stock improves soup flavour. To prepare fresh chicken stock, simply place chicken pieces in a medium-sized frying pan, cover with water, add a cube of vegetable stock, 5 grains of pepper and one bay leaf and bring to the boil before simmering over a gentle heat for 1 hour. Strain stock through fine sieve.19 TOMATO GAZPACHO 5 ripe tomatoes 1 red pepper 1 green pepper 1 cucumber 1 large onion 1 clove garlic 2 new onions 1 tbsp. sherry vinegar 1 slice soft bread 2 hard-boiled eggs Fresh basil Olive oil, salt, pepper and chili -Cut tomatoes, 1/2 green and 1/2 red peppers, 1 cucumber, onion and garlic and add all to mixer. -Add bread and mix once more. - Season with salt and pepper with 2 tbsp. olive oil, 1 tbsp. sherry vinegar and chili (to taste). -Leave in fridge for minimum 2 hours. -Chop remaining peppers and cucumber into small cubes along with new onions. Mash hard-boiled eggs with a fork. -Sprinkle soup with minced basil. -Distribute condiments in ramequins, and each person is free to garnish their gazpacho to taste

APPLE, BANANA AND STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE

125 gr strawberries 1 banana 50 ml apple juice 10 ice cubes -Wash strawberries and remove stalks. -Peel banana and cut in rounds. -Pour all ingredients into blender and blend on high for 1 min. -Serve immediately (frothy and very cold)
