What should I do if my WILFA Cha TM1500S kettle does not start?
Frequently Asked Questions - 28 j
Response Notice-Facile

If your WILFA Cha TM1500S kettle does not start, several essential checks need to be performed. This model has automatic dry heating protection and several LED indicators that facilitate diagnosis.

Check for water and positioning: The kettle cannot start if it is empty or contains insufficient water. Pour water up to the desired level (the gauge indicates the level). Then, correctly place the kettle on its provided charging base. The kettle detection is automatic: when you place it on the base, you should hear two beeps and all the LED indicators will light up for one second.

Check the power supply and cable: Ensure that the power cable is properly inserted into a functional electrical outlet (220-240 V, 50/60 Hz). Inspect the cable for any breaks or visible damage. If the cable is damaged, do not use the device and contact Wilfa customer service.

Select the temperature and activate the power switch: On the base panel, choose the desired temperature from the four available options (70 °C, 80 °C, 90 °C, or 100 °C). The LED indicator corresponding to your selection will light up. Then, press the main power switch to start heating. When the water reaches the selected temperature, the indicator will flash, a double beep will sound, and the kettle will automatically return to standby mode after one minute of inactivity.

Understand standby mode: In standby mode, all LED indicators are off and heating is stopped. If the kettle is not positioned on the base, all buttons and indicators will deactivate. If you have selected the keep warm function, you must activate the power switch within one minute of selection; otherwise, the device will return to standby mode.

Cleaning and descaling: A buildup of limescale can prevent proper functioning. Before any action, unplug the device and let it cool down. To descale, fill the kettle with white vinegar up to the MAX level, let it boil, then let it sit overnight. Then empty and rinse several times with clear water until the vinegar is completely eliminated. Never immerse the base or body of the kettle during cleaning.

In case of accidental dry heating: If the dry heating protection has activated (the kettle was empty during heating), unplug the power cable, pour in cold water to lower the temperature of the heating element, and then let it rest. This protection allows you to restart the device normally after cooling down.

If after these checks the kettle remains inactive, check that the power connector is not wet or dirty. As a last resort, contact Wilfa customer service: your device comes with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
