Safety instructions
Intended use
The Mason Jar Smoothie Maker is suitable for mixing smoothies, drinks and similar drinks. Any other use or usage beyond this scope is considered unintended use.
Before the initial start-up, please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it in a safe place.
- The device must not be operated by children. Always keep the device and its connection cables out of reach of children. Children must not play with the device.
- The device can be operated by individuals with reduced physical, sensory and mental abilities or lack of experience and/or of knowledge if they have been given supervision and instruction concerning potential dangers and proper use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
- Always keep the device, accessories and packaging parts out of reach of children.
- Never dip the device, the power plug and the power cord into water or any other liquid and do not put them into the dishwasher. Do not operate the device with wet hands. If the device has become wet, remove the power plug from the socket.

Place the device onto a free, flat and stable surface. Due to safety reasons, the smoothie maker must never be run on hot surfaces or in humid environment and it must not be installed in built-in cupboards.

Protect the smoothie maker from heat, humidity and direct sunlight.

The device must only be used for its intended purpose within the household or for similar purposes, e.g.
-
in staffrooms of stores, offices, or other places of work;
• for guests to use in accommodation facilities (hotels, motels), private boarding houses or holiday homes. -
Only operate the device indoors after proper assembly. The device is not suitable for outdoor use.
- Do not insert any objects into the device when it is running and never put your hand into the blender jug. There is a danger of injury to hand and fingers.
- The blades of the blade assembly are sharp! When cleaning and inserting component parts, be careful not to injure yourself and avoid touching the blades.

Should the blades be blocked, always remove the power plug from the socket first, before you remove the food causing the blockage.

Do not use any sharp or metallic items in the blender jug. It could get scratched. Always use a plastic or wooden scraper to remove the ingredients from the blender jug.
- After use, before cleaning, and in case of problems during operation, always remove the power plug from the socket and let the device cool down completely.
- Never operate the device with accessories of other devices as this might result in injuries, fire, or electric shocks.
- Improper repairs could pose a danger to the user and result in the voiding of the warranty. Should component parts be defect, they must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service partner or a similarly qualified person.

Should the connection cable or the device itself be defect, the connection cable or the device itself must be replaced/repaired by the manufacturer, the customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid dangers. In the case of repair, the defect parts must only be replaced by original spare parts.

Always disconnect the device from the power supply when it is unattended and before assembly/disassembly or cleaning.
- The device must be switched off before changing accessories or additional parts that move during operation.
- The maximum filling capacity of the blender jug must not be exceeded. When using highly fro-thing ingredients, fill in less than the maximum filling quantity.
- Never run the device with an empty blender jug.
- The device must not be run for more than 60 seconds at a time. Let it cool down for 60 seconds before using it again.
- Never remove the blender jug when the device is running. Do not remove the blender jug until the engine is completely stopped.
- Never fill up the blender jug with liquids of a temperature of over 50 °C in order to avoid injuries.
- Do not make any changes to the safety switch.

Do not reach into the running device – Danger of injury! Improper use can result in injuries! Danger!
Do not fill hot liquids into the mason jar glass – the glass could break!
Electrical safety

In case of failure to comply with the instructions on electrical safety, there is danger to life due to electrical current!
- Regularly check plugs and connection cable for wear and damages and keep them away from hot and sharp surfaces.
- Should the connection cable be damaged, a specialist authorized by the manufacturer must install a specific connection cable.
- Never run the device when the connection cable or the power plug are damaged or when the device itself is damaged, does not work properly or has been dropped.
- In no case open the device housing. In case of contact with connections under voltage and when changing the electric and mechanic construction of the device, there is danger of electric shock. Furthermore, malfunctions may occur.
- Only connect the device to an outlet when the supply voltage is compatible with the voltage shown on the type plate.
- If you are using an extension cord to connect the smoothie maker to an outlet, the extension cord must have a maximum length of 3 metres and a diameter of 1,5 ~mm^2 . Do not use any multiple sockets or socket strips – there is risk of fire.
- The socket must be protected with a 16A fuse.
- The electrical safety of the device is only ensured if it is connected to an approved protective conductor system. The device must not be connected to a socket without a protective grounding conductor.
The manufacturer does not assume any liability for damages resulting from:
• Non-compliance with the instructions
- Improper use
- Improper repairs
- Use of non-approved spare parts
- Technical changes, modifications of the device
Before first use
- Remove all transportation protections and packaging parts and keep them out of reach of children – risk of suffocation!
- Check the delivery for completeness and visible damages. Should the delivery be incomplete or damaged from transportation, please report promptly to the forwarder or supplier.
- Before first use, clean all removable parts except for the engine block with warm water. Please note our cleaning and care instructions.
- To clean the housing, use a damp cloth, press out excess water and wipe the surface.

Place all ingredients required for the recipe into the Mason Jar glass or the Tritan bottle. Put the blade base onto the glass/bottle opening and screw it tight clockwise.
- Turn the glass/bottle upside down and put it onto the main unit with the blade base facing downwards. Lightly press down the glass/bottle and twist the glass/bottle into the direction of the closed padlock symbol until the glass/bottle snaps in and both arrow symbols are precisely positioned one above the other.
- Connect the power plug to the socket.
- Press the start/stop switch and keep it pressed until your smoothie has the desired texture.
- Remove the power plug from the socket.
- Twist the glass/bottle into the direction of the open padlock symbol and remove the glass/bottle with the blade base from the main unit.
- Turn the glass/bottle back into an upward position. Remove the blade base by twisting it counterclockwise. Replace the blade base by the matching lid and screw it tight.
Instructions for safe use

- Never run the device with an empty blender jug and always stick to the maximum filling capacity of 0,5 litres for the glass and 0,6 litres for the bottle. Otherwise, the engine could be damaged.
- The device must not be run for more than 60 seconds at a time. Let it cool down for 60 seconds before using it again.
- The safety switch prevents the device from being put into operation until the glass/bottle and the blade base are assembled properly.
- Frozen berries and ice must only be processed with plenty of liquid. Otherwise, the device and the engine could be damaged.
After every use, the blender jug should be cleaned and dried as follows. Insufficient or improper care of the device may affect the smoothie maker's functional efficiency.

Before cleaning, always switch off the device and remove the power plug from the socket. Wipe the device housing with a damp cloth.

Do not use abrasive detergents.

Carefully clean the blade assembly and make sure not to get injured by the blades during cleaning and drying off the blender jug. The blades are sharp!

The device, connection cable and plugs must not come in contact with water or be put into the dishwasher. Danger of electric shocks!

Cleaning of lids, glass, bottle and blade base: To remove residues from the individual parts, rinse them under warm water using a mild detergent. Alternatively, you could also fill the glass and the bottle up to a third with warm water and some detergent, put on the blade base and mix for ca. 15 seconds. Unscrew the blade base, rinse the individual parts with clear water and let them air dry.

Only the glass and the bottle can be put into the dishwasher.

Remove sealing rings and blade base, rinse under running water and dry with a soft cloth. Put the sealing rings back in for the next use. Please note: The thick sealing ring is part of the lid, the thin one is part of the blade base.

The device, power cord and plug must not get in contact with water. Beware of sharp blades when cleaning the blade assembly and the blender jug.

- Check whether the operating instructions have been followed precisely and properly.
- Check whether the chart below offers possible solutions.
- Check whether the fuses are intact.

Should the device still have defects, please contact our customer service. Do not try to repair the device yourself. Improper repairs can lead to considerable damage to the device and serious injury to the operator.
In principle, our products have a legal warranty duty of 2 years. Further claims can only be processed in conjunction with a proof of purchase. Wearing parts exclude any warranty claims, when usual abrasion has occurred. The durability is determined by the respective handling and use of the products and is thus variable.
