KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN MIND:

  1. Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2") free space around the whole device.

  2. Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.

  3. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame. The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between 0^ and 35^ C.

  4. Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.

  5. Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.

POWER SUPPLY

USING HOUSE CURRENT

Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.

Note: The plug is used to disconnect the device. The disconnected device shall remain readily operable.

USING BATTERIES

Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC inlet of the unit. Battery power is cut automatically by the cord while it is connected.

When the volume decrease, or the sound distorts, replace all of the batteries with new ones.

Insert 6 UM-2 (size C) batteries.

Connect the device, Set the POWER switch to the ON position, LENCO SCD-860/861 will be displayed for a few seconds. Please wait.

Then the clock and date will be shown.

Press the ⏻ STANDBY button unit it will then enter STANDBY mode, display will show the Time/Date. The first time you listen to DAB radio, the time and date of your device will synchronise automatically.

ADJUSTING THE SOUND

FOR PRIVATE LISTENING

Plug in headphones ( 3.5 mm stereo mini-plug) to the PHONES jack.

When headphones are plugged in, the speakers are automatically disconnected.

SETTING THE TIME AND DATE

  1. Press the MENU/INFO button at standby mode, will then enter the main menu.
  2. Press the SELECT button to enter the system settings.
  3. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to enter the Time/Date.
  4. Press the SELECT button to set the Time/Date.
  5. Press the SELECT button again and then the date digit flash on the display.
  6. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust date digit.
  7. Press the SELECT button to confirm it and then the month digit flash.
  8. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust month digit.
  9. Press the SELECT button to confirm it and then the year digit flash.
  10. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust year digit.
  11. Press the SELECT button to confirm it and then the hour digit flash.
  12. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust hour digit.
  13. Press the SELECT button to confirm it and then the minute digit flash.
  14. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust minute digit.
  15. Press the SELECT button to confirm it, the correct time and date is shown on the display.

When the date is confirmed, "Time Saved" is displayed.

Then you can now use or and SELECT button to set followings:

  • Auto update: Time update from Any or Digital Radio of FM or No Update.
  • Set 12/24 hour: 12/24 hours clock display.
  • Set Date Format: DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY.
  • Note: When do the setting in the menu, press the MENU button to return back to previous step.

SETTING THE ALARM/THE ALARM MODE AND SNOOZE

  1. Press the STANDY button and then long press the MENU/INFO button to enter Main Menu.
  2. Press the SELECT button to enter System Settings mode.
  3. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select Alarm mode. Press the SELECT button to confirm it.
  4. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select Alarm 1. Press the SELECT button to confirm it.
  5. Press the SELECT button to select" On mode.
  6. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select "Wake Up time" mode. Press the SELECT to confirm it.
  7. And then the hour digit flash.
  8. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust hour digit. Press the SELECT button to confirm it and then the minute digit flash.
  9. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to adjust minute digit.
  10. Press the SELECT button to confirm it.
  11. The Wake Up Time is shown on the display.
  12. Same procedure applies for Alarm 2.
  13. Press the STANDY button again, 2 ALARM CLOCK indicators and the alarm times are shown on the display.

SNOOZE (REPEAT ALARM)

When the alarm sounds at the preset time, you can turn off the sounds temporarily by pressing the STANDBY button.

Turn the VOLUME button backward or forward to enter "Snooze 10 minutes".

The Snooze indicators are blinking on the display and count the time backwards.

  1. Press the STANDY button and then long press the MENU/INFO button to enter Main Menu.
  2. Press the SELECT button to enter System Settings mode.
  3. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select Alarm mode. Press the SELECT button to confirm it.
  4. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select Alarm 1. Press the SELECT button to confirm it.
  5. Press the SELECT button to select" Off mode. The alarm is cancelled and ALARM CLOCK OFF indicators is shown on the display.
  6. Same procedure applies for Alarm 2.

LISTENING TO DAB/DAB+ RADIO

  1. Press the MODE button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward toto select DAB mode.

The radio will start automatic scan for DAB stations if it's the first time to use the unit. The display will change to "Scanning...". A progress bar will show the progress of the scan and the number of stations found during the scan will also be displayed.

  1. When the scan is complete, the radio will select the first available station and begin to broadcast. Stations are listed in numerical and then alphabetical order by default.

Note: When the DAB/DAB+ radio station list is stored, it will not search automatically again. Press and hold SCAN button to search and list station.

  1. Press the SELECT button to select the stations in the list.

  2. When the desired station is displayed, press the SELECT button to confirm. There will be a short delay while your radio tunes to your selected station.

Note:

  • If no broadcasts are found by DAB/DAB+ scan, "No stations found" appears in the display.
  • For a better reception, extend the telescopic antenna or do the full scan again in another place.
  • During the search operation, the sound level is automatically muted.

LISTENING TO FM RADIO

Press the MODE button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select FM radio mode.

Note: For a better reception, extend the telescopic antenna.

PRESET STATIONS

This unit can store 5 FM and 5 DAB/DAB+ stations.

  1. Press MODE button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select FM or DAB/DAB+ band.
  2. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select adjust the radio frequency.
  3. Long press the PRESET 1 button to confirm the radio station is stored.
  4. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select adjust another radio frequency.
  5. Long press the PRESET 2 button to confirm the radio station is stored.
  6. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select adjust another radio frequency.
  7. Long press the PRESET 3 button to confirm the radio station is stored.
  8. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select adjust another radio frequency.
  9. Long press the PRESET 4 button to confirm the radio station is stored.
  10. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select adjust another radio frequency.
  11. Long press the PRESET 5 button to confirm the radio station is stored.
  12. Listening to preset stations by short pressing the PRESET 1-5 button.

Or press the PRESET button to enter the PRESET RECALL state.

Turn the TUNING button forward and backward to recall a preset radio station.

Note: If you choose a station that hasn't been allocated, "Empty" will be displayed. If the station has been allocated before, the FM frequency or DAB station name will be showed.

LISTENING TO CD

  1. Press the MODE button, Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select CD mode.
  2. Open the CD door by pushing the OPEN/CLOSE button. Insert a disc with the label side facing up. Close the CD door.
  3. Short press the ▶PLAY/PAUSE button to play the CD, press the ▶PLAY/PAUSE button again to resume playback.
  4. Then turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select desired track. Then normal CD playback will resume from this track.
  5. Short press the ■ STOP button to stop CD playing.

REPEAT PLAYBACK

This function allows a single track or all tracks on a disc to be played repeatedly.

  1. Press the REPEAT button once during playback to repeat the same track. The display show

PROGRAM PLAYBACK

Programmed playback enables tracks on a disc to be played in the desired order.

Up to 20 tracks can be programmed.

  1. Press the PRESET button, the display show "P01..."
  2. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select the desired track number.
  3. Press the PRESET button again to memorize the track.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all desired tracks are programmed.
  5. Press the ▶ PLAY/PAUSE button to start.
  6. Press the STOP button to stop programmed playback.
  7. Open the CD door, turn off the CD player or press the STOP button twice to clear the programmed memory.

Note: Programming can only be made when the player is in CD stop mode.

BLUETOOTH OPERATION

  1. Press the MODE button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select BLUETOOTH mode.
  2. Press the PAIR ✗ button and search for LENCO SCD-860 / SCD-861.
  3. Paring the Name with mobile phone Bluetooth. Click to connect.
  4. Press the ▶ PLAY/PAUSE button to play the song.

Press the ▶ PLAY/PAUSE button to disconnect the current connection.

Re-search for a new device.

  • Next time you switch on the unit, the device connects to the last paried device automatically.
  • The music streaming may be interrupted by obstacles between the device and the unit, such as walls, or other devices nearby that operate in the same frequency.

SLEEP FUNCTION

Long press the SLEEP button when not in standby mode to enter the sleep setting.

Turn the TUNING button to select the sleep time 15,30,45,60,90 minutes, 120 minutes, Sleep time off. Or turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select the desired time. Then press the SELECT button again to confirm.

To turn off the SLEEP function, Long press the SLEEP button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward to "Sleep time off" mode. And press the SELECT button to confirm.

AUX. IN

An external (auxiliary) audio source (i.e., personal CD player or MP3 player) can be connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.

1) Plug one end of cable into the AUX IN socket on the unit.
2) Plug the other end of the cable into the Headphone or Line Out socket of the external source.

3) Press the MODE button, turn the TUNING button backward or forward to (Plug other end into external source select AUX IN mode.. such as an MP3 player.)

Continue to operate CD or MP3 player as usual. Selections will be heard through the unit's speakers.

LANGUAGE

  1. Press the STANDY button and then long press the MENU/INFO button to enter Main Menu.
  2. Press the SELECT button to enter System Settings mode.
  3. Turn the TUNING button backward or forward to select "Language". Press the SELECT button to confirm it. There are several languages can be selected 'by Turning the TUNING button backward or forward such as: English, Deutsch, Italiano, Francais, Nederlands, Espanol, Portugues, Svenska, Dansk, Norsk, Suomi & Polski.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING A CD

If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may need cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the centre out with a cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc in its case.

CLEANING THE CD LENS

If the CD lens is dusty, clean it with a brush-blower. Blow several times on the lens and remove the dust with the brush. Finger prints may be removed with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.

CLEANING THE UNIT

Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly wiping with a soft cloth.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If an abnormal display indication or an operating problem occurs, disconnect the AC power cord and remove the batteries. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect the AC power cord or reinstall the batteries.

Should the CD door be opened before the reading of the CD is completed, a jamming noise may occur. This is resolved by closing the CD door.
