Do not fill with water above the 10 MAX marking on the water level indicator|

~ Never put fluids other than fresh drink- ing water into the coffee machine.

The filter holder|12 has an anti-drip valve|11. This ensures that no coffee drips out of the filter when you remove the pot|7. In order to ensure that the anti-drip valve|11 opens during the brewing process, it is im- portant that the filter holder|12 is inserted correctly and the pot|7 with its lid |8 closed is positioned completely in the coffee ma- chine. The fitted lid|8 of the pot|7 opens the anti-drip valve|11. Other- wise the filter can overflow.

7.2 Opening and closing the

lid In order that the appliance can work correct- ly, it is important that the pot|7 is placed in the coffee machine and that the lid|8 is closed.

Always fill the water tank at least up to the marking for 2 cups (2). Do not fill with water above the10 MAX marking in the water tank.

8. Place ground coffee powder into the

permanent filter|14. For medium- strength coffee, put one coffee spoon (around 7 - 8 g) of ground coffee pow- der per cup into the filter. Use ground coffee powder for filter coffee. If you grind the coffee yourself, grind it to a medium grinding degree. NOTE: you can also use a paper filter. In this case, the permanent filter|14 must not be inserted, however. Place a paper filter (size 1x4) with folded sides directly into the filter holder|12. When it is folded, the pa- per filter fits better in the filter holder|12 and the seams are prevented from tearing.

NOTE: by pressing the |21 button, you can cancel the brewing process and switch off the hot plate|6 sooner at any time.

Using this setting, the ground coffee is brewed in short intervals. NOTE: the brewing process with aroma function takes slightly longer than the normal brewing process.

  • Press the AROMA|20 button before switching on to activate the function. The illuminated LED ring around the AROMA|20 button indicates that the function is active. NOTE: this function can also be used in tim- er mode with a preselected start time! To do this, press the AROMA|20 button before you set the timer.

7.6 Starting with the timer

Enter the desired time if the timer shall start the coffee machine at a certain time. NOTE: the timer cannot be set if a brewing process has already started or if the hot plate|6 is still switched on (i.e. if the LED ring around the button|21 is lit or flash- ing). The timer can be set up to 24 hours in ad- vance.

1. Connect the mains plug|4 of the coffee

machine to a wall socket.

The coffee machine becomes very hot during operation. Allow it to cool down before cleaning. WARNING! Risk of material dam- age! ~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents. NOTE: in order to start the brewing process with clear water or a descaling solution, the filling of the water tank|2 must not exceed the 8 cup marking. Otherwise the pot|7 may overflow.

Clean the device after every use, if possible.

1. Pull the mains plug|4 out of the wall

3. Only for the permanent filter|14: open

the handle|15 of the permanent filter, remove the permanent filter and rinse it out under running water.

power cable|4 with a damp cloth when required. Dry with a dry cloth.

9. Allow all parts to dry completely before

you put them away or use the device again.25

Time intervals for descaling The intervals for descaling are dependent on the hardness of the water, and how often you use the device. Where the hardness of the water is medium or high, we recommend descaling monthly. If using tap water, you can find out the hard- ness of the water in the area where you live by inquiring at your local waterworks. After some time, the boiling process will re- sult in limescale being deposited in parts of the coffee machine (depending on the hard- ness of the water used). You should remove this at regular intervals, because otherwise the power consumption of the device will in- crease.

1. Turn off the coffee machine and allow it

to cool down completely.

2. Place the descaling agent into the water

tank|2. Use a liquid, environmentally friendly descaling agent based on citric acid, and follow the instructions of the manufacturer.

3. Fill the water tank|2 to the 8 cup mark-

5. It is very important that the pot|7

has a closed lid|8 when it is placed on the hot plate|6.

6. Press the button |21. The LED ring

around the button lights up. The brewing process will start after a short time.

7. Allow approximately half of the descaling

agent to run through the machine, and then switch off the device by pressing the button |21.
