How to use the Marque Verte Digifront Compact thermometer?
Frequently Asked Questions - 20/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The Marque Verte Digifront Compact thermometer is a digital infrared forehead thermometer that measures temperature by scanning the area of the forehead above the eyebrows. Here’s how to use it correctly:

Preparation
Before starting, ensure that you and the device have been in a room with a stable temperature for at least 30 minutes. Avoid taking the temperature during or immediately after breastfeeding a baby. The patient should not have drunk, eaten, or exercised a few minutes prior.

Turning on
Press the “ON/OFF” button. The screen lights up and displays all segments for 2 seconds. The last recorded measurement is then automatically displayed for 2 seconds. When the °C or °F symbol blinks accompanied by a beep, the device is ready to measure.

Taking the temperature

  • First, clean the forehead by removing hair, sweat, or dirt to improve accuracy
  • Gently place the probe about 1 cm above the center of the eyebrow (skin contact required)
  • Press the “START” button once and release
  • Slowly move the thermometer from the center of the eyebrow to the temple for 3 seconds
  • A long beep sounds after 3 seconds, indicating that the measurement is complete
  • If you moved too slowly, start again by moving the probe faster

Reading the result
The temperature is displayed on the LCD screen. A green backlight means the temperature is below 37.5 °C. A red backlight accompanied by 10 short beeps indicates that the temperature is equal to or above 37.5 °C, indicating a risk of fever. Always take the temperature at the same spot on the forehead, as readings can vary depending on the measurement location.

Case of abnormally low measurement
If the result seems abnormally low or does not match the patient's condition, repeat the measurement 3 times at the same spot and retain the highest temperature. This is particularly important for children under 3 years old or cases where the patient has just learned to use the thermometer.

Cleaning and maintenance
After each use, clean the probe with a pad or cloth soaked in 70% alcohol. Wait at least 15 minutes before measuring the temperature of another person. Never immerse the device in water and do not clean it with abrasive products. The screen automatically turns off about 1 minute after the measurement to save battery. Store the device in a dry place.

Features and limitations
The accuracy is ±0.2 °C in the range of 36.0 to 39.0 °C. The device operates with a CR2032 battery and can perform about 2000 measurements. Do not use the thermometer in very humid environments. Keep in mind that the forehead temperature can naturally be 0.2 to 1 °C lower than the baseline body temperature, like any skin measurement. Inform your doctor of the thermometer used and the area measured.

The Digifront Compact Forehead Thermometer is a high quality product incorporating the latest technology and tested in accordance with international standards. With its unique and clinically tested technology, the Digifront Compact Forehead Thermometer can provide a stable reading comparable with an oral temperature. The instrument performs a selftest every time it is switched on to always guarantee the pecified accuracy of measurements. The Digifront Compact Forehead Thermometer allows a simple and quick measurement of the body temperature. Please keep in mind that, – like any skin temperature –, the temperature at the forehead area might be lower then the core body temperature. Body temperature varies depending on the part of the body where it is measured. The variation can be between

0.2 - 1 °C.

Temperatures measured with different thermometers cannot be compared with one another. Tell your doctor or take into account when diagnosing yourself what

thermometer you used in what part of the body to measure the temperature. A basic physiologic effect called vasoconstriction can occur in the early stages of fever, resulting in a cool skin effect, the recorded temperature using a forehead thermometer may be suspiciously low.

If the measurement result is not consistent with the patient's finding or suspiciously low, repeat the measurement every 15 minutes or double check the result by another core body temperature measurement, e.g. use an IR-eardrum thermometer or a rectal pen-type thermometer.

Marque Verte Digifront Compact - Important Safety Instructions - 1

WARNING: Use of this instrument is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your physician. This instrument is NOT waterproof! Please NEVER immerse into liquids.

3. How this Thermometer measures Temperature

The thermometer measures infrared energy radiated from the skin above of the eyebrow area and the surrounding tissue. This energy is collected through the lens and converted to a temperature value. Temperature readings obtained by scanning above the eyebrow area will provide the greatest accuracy.

4. Control Displays and Symbols

  • All segments displayed ⑥: Press the «ON/OFF» button ④ to turn on the unit, all segments will be shown for 2 seconds.
  • Memory ⑦: The last reading will be shown on the display automatically for 2 seconds.
  • Ready for measurement ⑧: The unit is ready for measurement, the «°C» or «°F» icon will keep flashing.

  • Measurement complete ⑨: The reading will be shown on the display 3 with the «°C» or «°F» icon flashing, the unit is ready again for the next measurement.

  • Low battery indication ⑩: When the unit is turned on, the battery icon will keep flashing to remind the user to replace the battery.

5. Directions for Use

  1. Press the «ON/OFF» button ④. The display ③ is activated to show all segments for 2 seconds.
  2. The last measurement reading will be shown on the display automatically for 2 seconds with the «M» icon ⑦.
  3. When the «°C» or «°F» icon is flashing, a beep sound is heard and the thermometer is ready for measurement ⑧.
  4. Place the probe gently onto the area approximately 1cm above the center of the eyebrow (skin contact is necessary). If the eyebrow area is covered with hair, sweat or dirt, please remove the obstacle beforehand to improve the reading accuracy.
  5. Press the «START» button once and release it. Start to move the instrument steadily from 1 cm above the center of the eye-

brow to the temple area. A long beepsound will emit after 3 seconds to acknowledge the completion of measurement. If the probe movement is too slow to reach the temple area before the long beeb sound heard, repeat the measurement as above from point 4, but simply move the probe a little quicker this time. 6. Read the recorded temperature from the LCD display.

NOTE:

  • Patients and thermometer should stay in steady-state room condition for at least 30 minutes.
  • Don't take a measurement while or immediately after nursing a baby.
  • Don't use the forehead thermometer in high humidity environments.
  • Patients should not drink, eat, or exercise before/whil taking the measurement.
  • Before placing the thermometer probe onto the measurement area, remove dirt, hair, or sweat.
  • Don't move the measurement device from the measuring area before hearing the termination beep.
  • Use an alcohol swab to carefully clean the probe and wait for 15

minutes before taking a measurement on another patient.

  • 10 short beeps will sound and a red LCD backlight will illuminate when the temperature is higher than 37.5 °C (99.5 °F) in order to alert the patient that he/she may have a temperature above 37.5 °C.
  • Always take the temperature in the same location, since the temperature readings may vary from different locations.
  • In the following situations it is recommended that three temperatures in the same location be taken and the highest one taken as the reading:

  • If the measurement is surprisingly low.

  • Children under three years of age with a compromised immune system and for whom the presence or absence of fever is critical.

  • When the user is learning how to use the thermometer for the first time until he/she has familiarized himself/herself with the instrumentandobtainsconsistentreadings.
