12. Power cord and plug
- Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete.
- Placetheapplianceonanevenandheatresistantsurface and connect it to a properly installed wall socket.
- Beforemakingyourrstcoffee,rinsetheunitbyllingthe watertank(2)uptotheMax.markingandoperateit2-3 times without coffee. After that your coffee maker is ready for operation. Note: After each rinse cycle, the appliance has to be switched off for approx. 5 minutes, in order to cool down.
Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and
babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation. Operation
- Placetheapplianceonanevenandheatresistantsurface and connect it to a properly installed wall socket. Setting the Time (CLOCK) : The time can be set in 24 hour mode (00:00 – 24:00) Once connected to the power supply the LCD display shows 12:00 (default setting). No indicator light is on and the appliance is off.
- Press“Min”(11)toadjusttheminutesetting. Afterapprox.10seconds“CLOCK”stopsashingandthe actual time setting is confirmed. Note: Once disconnect from the mains, the clock setting is reset to default setting! Brewing Coffee Note:Neveropentheappliancelid(1)duringoperation –hotwatercouldevaporate–Danger of serious burns!
1. Open the appliance lid (1) and fill the water tank (2) with
cold, fresh tap water. The markings on the water tank (2) indicate the required water level to brew the desired number of cups. Do notexceedtheMax.llinglevel(7 cups).
2. Insert a standard paper filter 1 x 4 into the filter holder (5).
Makesuretofoldtheedgesofthepaperlterandpushit slightly down.
3. For each cup of coffee, use one leveled measuring spoon
(13) of grounded coffee. For stronger or milder coffee, adjusttheamountofcoffee!
6.Makesurethatthethermojug(4)isproperlyplacedinto the appliance. 7.PresstheOn/Offbutton(8)toswitchontheappliance. The integrated indicator light indicates that the appliance is in operation. An integrated mechanism automatically opens the lid for the brewing through function. Note: The brewing process can be interrupted at any time by pressingtheOn/Offbutton(8).Oncetheunitisswitchedon again the appliance will continue with the brewing process. Note: If you wish to have a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is completed, remove the thermo jug (4) from the appliance. Due to the automatic drip stop, dripping will automaticallycease.Putthethermojug(4)backwithin30 seconds, dripping process will automatically resume. 8.After the brewing cycle is completed (no more water isdrippingthroughthelter),thethermojug(4)canbe removed. When serving coffee do not remove the lid in order to preserve the proper serving temperature. Attention: The appliance will automatically shut-off after the brewing cycle is completed. The indicator light will go OFF as well. 9.Toswitchofftheappliancebeforetheautomaticshut-off, presstheOn/Offbutton(8).Theredindicatorlightwillgo off and the appliance is no longer in operation. Note: If you wish to prepare more than one pot of coffee, the appliance has to be switched off for approx. 5 minutes, in order to cool down. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains if you are not using it!24 Thermo jug / brewing through lid Thethermojug(4)accumulatesheatenergy.Therefore,the jugshouldpreferablybelledtoitsmax.capacity. Tip: Before starting the brewing process, rinse your thermo jug(4)withhottapwater.Toobtaintastefulcoffee,brewat leasthalfajugotherwisethetemperaturewillnotbeheldas efficiently. The brewing through lid does not close hermetically. Therefore,alwaysholdthethermojug(4)uprightwhenlled with coffee. When serving coffee, push the lid by its lever into anti- clockwisedirectionuntilthearrowonthethermojugpoints towardthe“pour” symbol on the lid. To fasten the lid, insert it into the thermo jug and turn it clockwiseuntilitthearrowsymbolonthethermojugpoints towardsthe“closed / brewing” symbol on the lid. To remove the lid, turn it clockwise until the arrow symbol onthethermojugpointstowardsthe“open lid” symbol on the lid.Instruction Manual ENGLISH
Setting the Timer If you wish to enjoy your coffee at a specific time, you need to set the timer to the desired time setting.
1. Follow the steps as described under Brewing Coffee
2.Pressthe“Prog”(9)buttontwice“TIMER” starts flashing and 12:00 (default setting) will appear on the display. 3.Press“Hour”(10)toadjustthehoursetting. 4.Press“Min”(11)toadjusttheminutesetting.Ifnoinput ismadewithinapprox.10seconds,the“Timer”indicator will no longer be shown on the display 5.Pressthe“Prog” button (9) again to confirm the setting. The greenindicatorlightofthe“Prog” button turns on. “CLOCK” and “Timer” time setting will alternately be displayed on the LCD display until the desired time has been reached.
6. Once the desired time has been reached, the green
indicator light of the “Prog” button (9) turns off, the appliance switches on automatically and the brewing cycle starts. This is indicated by the red indicator light of theon/offbutton. Ifyouwishtocancelthepresettime,simplypressthe“Prog” button (9) and the green indicator light goes off.26 Cleaning and Care Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. Let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Before cleaning always remove the paper filter resp. the permanent filter! Clean the body of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hardobjectstocleantheappliance. The thermo jug (4) and lid arenotdishwashersafe,rinse them under some tap water and dry it afterwards. All detachable parts can be cleaned in warm water using some dishwashing detergent, rinse them afterwards and dry them thoroughly. DESCALING Depending on the water quality and usage, calcification can occur. Therefore, to keep your coffee maker operating efficiently, you should descale it on a regular basis. Neveruseanysharp,pointedormetalobjectstoremove limescale built up in the appliance. To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. After descaling, always rinse your appliance as described under Before First Use.Instruction Manual ENGLISH
Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks. Storage Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it completely cool down. Keep the appliance away from children and store it in a clean and dry place. Disposal Instructions Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately.
