8 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and keep it for future reference.
  • Check the voltage where you use the device is the same as specied on the appliance. For details on the label on the base plate.
  • Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
  • Avoid contact with steam coming out of the spout area when pouring and out of the lid when relling.
  • Keep children away from the kettle and never let the cord hang down over the worktop edge – a child could grab it and pull the kettle down.
  • Never overll – boiling water may splash out.
  • Never put the kettle, cord or plug in liquid.
  • This appliance is intended for use in household only.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged5

Remove all packaging and any labels. Fill to “MAX”, boil, then pour the water away. OPERATION

  • Select the required voltage by turning the selector control underneath the water kettle. Always check that you have selected the correct voltage before using the kettle.

BOIL-DRY PROTECTION This travel kettle is protected with a safety device that switches off the appliance automatically when it is accidentally switched on without water. In this case, unplug the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then ll the kettle with cold water.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
  • To clean the plastic parts, simply wipe over with a soft cloth. To remove scale from the inner walls of the kettle and from the lter you can use a soft brush.
  • Never use abrasive products.
  • Before storing your appliance, pull out both cable management and wind the cord around your appliance.9
