How to clean my Proline PKC17B kettle?

Unplug always the appliance and let it cool down. Wipe external surfaces with a damp cloth and dry them. Remove the mesh filter from the spout, wash it under the tap, then put it back. Do not use chemical or abrasive products. Never immerse the kettle or base in water.

How to descale the kettle?

Use a specific descaling product for kettles. Follow the product instructions. After descaling, rinse several times with clean water. Regular descaling extends the life of the appliance.

Why does my kettle turn off before boiling?

This may be due to needed descaling or insufficient water level. Check that the lid is properly closed and the kettle is correctly placed on the base. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.

Can I use the kettle with something other than water?

No, only use water. Never heat other liquids (milk, soup, etc.) as this could damage the appliance and cause a burn risk.

How to safely open the lid?

Press the lid opening button. Caution: steam is very hot. Do not direct steam toward yourself and wait for the water to cool before opening after boiling.

What to do if the kettle does not turn on?

Check that the cable is properly plugged in and the kettle is correctly placed on the base. Ensure the dry-boil protection device has not been activated (if the kettle was turned on without water). Let it cool, fill with water, and try again.

Can children use this appliance?

Children aged 8 years and over may use the kettle under supervision, provided they have received instructions on safe use. Cleaning and maintenance must not be done by children under 8 years.

How to replace the filter?

The mesh filter is located in the spout. Gently pull to remove it. Wash it with clean water and put it back by pushing until it clicks. A clean filter ensures better water quality.

Can I immerse the kettle?

No, never immerse the kettle or base in water or any other liquid. This could damage electrical components and create a risk of electric shock.

What is the maximum capacity?

The maximum capacity is indicated by the MAX level inside the kettle, usually 1.7 liters. Never exceed this level to avoid boiling water ejection.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of

reach of children aged less than 8 years.

• Place the appliance on a stable flat surface before use.
• Be careful when opening the lid immediately after the water has boiled, the steam coming out of the kettle is very hot constituting a risk of scalding.
• Do not use the kettle to heat anything other than water. Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication.
• Make sure the bottom of the kettle and the power base are dry before placing the kettle onto the power base.

OPERATION

Before first use, it is recommended to operate the kettle for 2 to 3 times following the instructions below. This will remove any dust or residues remaining from the manufacturing process.

1. Remove kettle from power base.

2. Fill kettle with desired amount of cold water through the spout or the open lid.

3. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button.

4. Do not overfill the kettle by exceeding the MAX level.

5. Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place.

6. Place the kettle on the power base and insert the plug into the mains socket.

7. Press the power switch. The water is being heated.

8. The power indicator light will illuminate.

9. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water boils.

10. The power indicator light will go out.

11. You can stop the boiling process by setting the power switch to "O".

12. Lift the kettle from the power base and then slowly pour the boiling water.

NOTE: Use the kettle only when the lid is closed and the filter is in place.

Cut-out for boil-dry protection

If you operate the kettle without water, the kettle will stop heating and automatically switch off.

If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.

Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

Clean the outside of the kettle and the power base using a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.

Remove the mesh filter from the spout. Clean it under running water and then replace it.

Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agent.

Never immerse the kettle and the power base in water.

Regularly descale the kettle using a specific descaler.

Wipe the inside of the kettle with a clean cloth.
