Frequently Asked Questions - WK17 PROLINE

How to descale my Proline WK17 kettle?
Use a specific descaling product for kettles. Fill the kettle with water and the descaler according to the product instructions, bring to a boil, then let it sit. Rinse thoroughly with clean water after descaling. Do not use pure vinegar or strong acid.
Why won't my kettle turn on?
Check that the kettle is properly placed on its base and that the base is plugged in. Make sure the on/off button is pressed. If the kettle has boiled dry, it may have shut off automatically: let it cool down then fill with water before trying again.
Can I heat milk or other liquids in my kettle?
No, this kettle is designed only for heating water. Heating milk or other liquids may damage the appliance and pose a burn risk. Use it exclusively for water.
How to clean the kettle filter?
Remove the filter from the lid by unclipping it. Wash it under running water using a soft brush if necessary. Replace it after drying. Never use the kettle without the filter.
What to do if the water does not boil or the kettle turns off before boiling?
This may be due to a needed descaling or a malfunction. First descale the kettle. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
Is it normal for a little water to drip from the spout during boiling?
Yes, a slight steam release and a few drops may escape, especially if the kettle is overfilled. Do not fill beyond the maximum level and ensure the lid is properly closed.
Can I use the kettle without the lid?
No, the appliance must not be used with the lid open. This could cause burns and damage the kettle. Always close the lid before heating.
How to avoid burns during use?
Never open the lid during boiling. Point the spout away from you when opening. Use the handle to handle the kettle. Let it cool before cleaning.
What is the warranty of the Proline WK17 kettle?
The warranty period depends on the retailer (Darty, Vanden Borre, etc.). Check your invoice or contact customer service for more information. In France, Darty support can be reached at 0 978 970 970.
Can I use an adapter or extension cord?
It is not recommended to use an extension cord. Plug the base directly into a suitable wall outlet (220-240 V). Use an adapter only if it is compatible and in good condition.
