How to use the Proline SSKC17 kettle?

Fill the kettle with cold water up to the MAX level. Close the lid by pressing until it locks. Place it on its plugged base and press the on/off button. It stops automatically after boiling.

What to do if the kettle boils dry?

The kettle stops automatically. Let it cool down, then fill it with cold water. It will work normally again.

How to clean and descale the kettle?

Unplug and wait for it to cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Rinse the mesh filter under the tap. Descale regularly with a specific product.

Can I heat something other than water in the kettle?

No, use only water. Heating other liquids may damage the appliance and pose a risk.

Up to what level should I fill the kettle?

Do not exceed the MAX line marked inside. Overfilling may cause boiling water splashes.

What to do if the lid is hard to close?

Make sure the lid is properly positioned and press firmly until you hear a locking click. Do not force.

Can I use the kettle without the filter?

No, the kettle must not be used without the filter in place. The filter retains impurities.

How to safely open the lid after boiling?

Wait for the kettle to cool. Open the lid carefully, as hot steam may escape. Do not point the steam towards yourself.

What to do if water overflows onto the base?

Unplug the appliance immediately and wipe the base carefully. Make sure it is dry before reusing the kettle.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as

• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  -farm houses;
  -by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  -bed and breakfast type environments.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of

reach of children aged less than 8 years.

Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Place the appliance on a stable flat surface before use.
• Be careful when opening the lid immediately after the water has boiled, the steam coming out of the kettle is very hot constituting a risk of scalding.
• Do not use the kettle to heat anything other than water. Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication.
• Make sure the bottom of the kettle and the power base are dry before placing the kettle onto the power base.

OPERATION

Before first use, it is recommended to operate the kettle for 2 to 3 times following the instructions below. This will remove any dust or residues remaining from the manufacturing process.

1. Remove kettle from power base.

2. Fill kettle with desired amount of cold water through the spout or the open lid.

3. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button and then lifting the lid upwards.

4. Do not overfill the kettle by exceeding the MAX level.

5. Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place.

6. Place the kettle on the power base and insert the plug into the mains socket.
7. Press the power switch. The water is being heated.

The power indicator light will illuminate.

1. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water boils.

2. The power indicator light will go out.

3. You can stop the boiling process by setting the power switch to "O".

4. Lift the kettle from the power base and then slowly pour the boiling water.

NOTE: Use the kettle only when the lid is closed and the filter is in place.

Cut-out for boil-dry protection

If you operate the kettle without water, the kettle will stop heating and automatically switch off.

If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.

Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

Clean the outside of the kettle and the power base using a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.

Remove the mesh filter from the spout. Clean it under running water and then replace it.

Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agent.

Never immerse the kettle and the power base in water.

Regularly descale the kettle using a specific descaler.

Wipe the inside of the kettle with a clean cloth.
