Handhabung Handmixer
Allgemein
Before using the appliance, the user should read the following instructions carefully.
Connection to the mains supply
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions
- This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
- Before the appliance is used, the main unit as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and also - in case of any malfunction and, - during cleaning.
- Always switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the wall socket before adding, changing, removing or cleaning any attachments or cutting tools.
- The blades of the blender and chopper attachments are extremely sharp. To prevent injuries, take special care when handling these parts.
After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill. Do not touch any moving parts.
- Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- Do not operate the appliance with more than one attachment fitted.
- When operating the appliance without either the blender attachment or the chopper attachment fitted, always ensure that the slide cover is completely closed.
- Do not touch any moving parts during operation.
- When using the blender attachment, the appliance should be placed on a scratch-resistant surface.
- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications.
- In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The addresses can be found in the appendix to this manual.
Before using for the first time
Before the appliance is used for the first time, all detachable parts must be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General Care and Cleaning.
Short-time operation
The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food. When using the speed levels 1 - 5, the unit should not be operated continuously for more than 10 minutes. When using the turbo function, the unit should not be operated for more than 30 seconds at a time. Switch off the appliance afterwards and allow the motor to cool down.
Switch settings
The unit is equipped with a multistage switch.
The following settings are available:
0 The unit is switched off
1 very low speed
2 low speed
3 medium speed
4 medium-high speed
5 high speed
Switch settings for hand mixer operation
When mixing light and liquid mixtures or when stirring in any ingredients, settings 1
and 2 should be used.
For stirring and kneading, it is best to use settings 3,4 or 5.
- For heavy dough mixtures, setting 5 must be used.
Turbo function
Maximum speed may be obtained by pressing down the turbo button, regardless of the speed level selected.
Hand mixer operation
General information
Depending on the quantity of ingredients, use a sufficiently deep bowl.
- Any bowl, round container or glass is suitable, provided it is scratch-proof and the attachments can rotate freely inside.
After fitting the attachments, take the mixer into your hand and position the attachments inside the container filled with the ingredients.
- Use your thumb to switch on the unit.
- When you have finished mixing or if you wish to interrupt the operation, switch off first before lifting the attachments out of the mixture.
Beaters
For light and liquid mixtures such as crèmes, mashed potatoes, egg white or cream, insert one or both beaters into the openings on the underside of the mixer and push them gently upwards until they lock into place.
Dough hooks
For kneading dough, the dough hooks must be used. The hook with the integrated plate must be inserted into the larger opening.
Ejecting the attachments
The beaters or dough hooks are automatically detached when pressing the eject button.
Hand mixer models with additional blender attachment
If you have a hand mixer model without
blender attachment, you can order it from our accessory range by quoting article no. ZB 9045.
Operation
- Always use a suitable container for operation. A tall container with a flat bottom is best.
- Push the slide cover upwards and insert the blender attachment.
- Push the blender down into the ingredients in the bowl before switching the unit on. Start with a low speed setting.
- On some models, the blender attachment may be made of plastic. Such attachments must not be immersed in very hot water.
- Make sure that the unit can rotate freely inside the bowl and is not blocked during operation.
- After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before lifting the blender from the mixture.
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.
Hand mixer models with additional chopper attachment
When ordering the chopper attachment, please quote article no. ZB 9046.
Operation
- Fit the cutting blade unit into the bowl before filling the bowl with the food to be chopped. Exercise extreme caution: the blades are very sharp. When handling the blades, always hold them by the upper protective plastic covering.
Position the lid securely on the bowl. - Push the slide cover upwards and fit the hand mixer to the lid of the bowl.
- Insert the plug into the wall socket and operate the switch in brief bursts until the mixture has reached the desired consistency. During processing, the lid and bowl should be securely held in
place.
- Avoid overfilling the bowl. It may be filled with herbs etc. up to half. Before the bowl is filled, the food to be processed should be cut into pieces of about 1cm .
- Do not fill the bowl with hot liquid or hard material such as ice cubes, nutmecs, hard grain, coffee beans, rice or spices. Other food such as chocolate or raw meat are also unsuitable for processing.
- After processing, always remove the plug from the wall socket before removing the lid and detaching the hand mixer by pressing the release button. The processed food and the blade unit can now be taken out.
- When processing further food after the first cycle, make sure that the receptacle for the blade unit at the bottom of the bowl is free of food residue before refitting the unit.
General cleaning and care
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions for cleaning.
- The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- The beaters and dough hooks may be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent.
- The blade unit of the blender attachment can be unscrewed for cleaning. Before removing it, ensure that the drive pin on the shaft sits correctly in the corresponding recess on the blade unit. The unit may be cleaned with a suitable brush. Caution: the blades are extremely sharp. To replace the unit, hold it in a suitable cloth and screw it back on in a clockwise direction.
- The lid of the chopper attachment can be
cleaned with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and a mild detergent. To prevent water from getting into the interior, do not immerse in water.
- All other attachments can be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent. Make sure that water does not enter the drive shaft of the blender attachment from above.
Power cord storage
After use, the power cord may be wound loosely around the rear part of the housing. Be sure to unwind the cord completely before the appliance is used again.
Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage, but only through public collection points.
Recipe for muesli biscuits (round cookies)
Blend together the following ingredients: 340g sunflower seeds, 440g oat flakes, 100g sugar, 40g chocolate powder, 2 satchels (20 grams) vanilla sugar and 500ml water. Mix for 15 seconds using the beater attachments of the hand mixer at high-speed setting 5. Let the dough rest for around 15 minutes, then continue beating for a further 15 seconds at maximum power (turbo setting). Form the dough into round biscuit about 5cm across and bake them in a preheated oven at 180^ for about 25 minutes, with the baking tray at the central position.

If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
