with water or near any other receptacle containing water. Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.
In the vicinity of any water source, there is a risk even when the appliance is switched off. Therefore, always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, especially if the appliance is being used in a bathroom.
For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the
electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the grip and fingerguard. Otherwise there is a real risk of burns.
The appliance becomes hot during use. To prevent burns, ensure that the curler is kept well away from the scalp.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs, as the heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachments fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. If the appliance, for instance, has been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on its operational safety.
The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
Do not leave the appliance unattended while switched on.
Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- after use.
- in case of any malfunction, before cleaning the appliance.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- Do not coil the power cord around the appliance. This appliance is not intended for use by any persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The address can be found in the appendix to this manual.
Operation
Make sure the appliance is used on dry hair only.
- Insert the plug into a wall socket.
- Use the On/Off tip switch to turn the curler on.
- Use the temperature-control buttons to set the desired level, observing the above instructions. Pre-heating starts and the selected temperature is shown in the display.
- The indicator light flashes during preheating. Once the selected temperature has been reached, a beep signal is heard and the indicator light stops flashing and shows constant red. During the heating phase, the appliance should be left on a firm, heat-resistant surface.
- Divide the hair into separate strands, grip the end of a strand with the clamp and curl it up to the hairline.
The integrated swivel makes it easy to use the curler in this way.
Hold the hair curled up for a few seconds, then open the clamp and remove the curl gently from the hair by turning it. Make sure the hot parts of the curler are kept away from the scalp.
- Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.
- Switch the appliance off after use. When the indicator light goes out, remove the plug from the wall socket.
- Do not place the curler on any surface sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.
Temperature selection
The appliance offers 4 temperature settings: 100°C, 130°C, 160°C and 200°C. To avoid damage to the hair, always start with a low temperature setting. If the hair can be shaped at that setting, no further increase in temperature is necessary, as the optimum setting has already been reached.

The appliance has an automatic switch-off which takes effect after about 60 minutes. Before this automatic switch-off, a multiple beep signal is heard. A graphic bar on the right-hand side of the LCD display shows the elapsed operating time, one bar being added after each 10 minutes' operation.
