If shown on the product, do not touch as parts may be very hot.
Risk of scalding! This appliance reaches very high temperatures. Incorrect use of the device can cause scalding.
- Never disassemble or carry out maintenance on the appli- ance apart from that indicated in this manual. In the event of a fault or malfunction, do not try to repair the appliance yourself. In the event of a heavy knock, fall, damage or fall into water, the appliance may no longer be safe to use. In- correct use or a lack of respect for the instructions herein may lead to serious accidents. Only use Polti parts and ac- cessories. Always contact Authorised Service Centres.
- Do not operate the product if it has fallen or been dropped ENGLISH | 14 |or if there are visible signs of damage or leaks.
- Remove the plug from the power socket before filling the tank/boiler and during cleaning.
- Before performing any maintenance or cleaning, make sure the power switch is in the OFF position and the appliance has been disconnected from the mains for at least 2 hours.
- The appliance must not be left unattended if plugged in to the mains.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Keep the appliance and the power cable out of the reach of children under 8 years of age when the appliance is switched on or during the cooling phase.
- Keep all the parts of the packaging out of the reach of children; they are not toys. Keep the plastic bag out of the reach of children: danger of suffocation.
- This appliance is designed exclusively for indoor domestic use. In order to reduce the risk of accidents, including: fires, electrocution, personal injury and scalding, both during use and during preparation, maintenance and storage, always take the fundamental precautions listed in this manual.
- The earthing system and highly sensitive residual-current circuit breaker, complete with magnetothermic cut-out for your domestic system, guarantee safe use of electrical appliances. Therefore, for your own safety, check that the electrical system to which the appliance is connected complies with current laws. ENGLISH | 15 |• Do not connect the appliance to the mains if the voltage does not correspond with that of the domestic electrical circuit in use.
- Do not overload sockets with adaptors and/or transformers. Only connect the product to a single socket with current that is compatible with the plug supplied.
- Electrical extension leads that are unsuitable for the power rating or which are not compliant with law may overheat and possibly lead to short circuiting, fire, power outage or damage to the equipment. Only use extension leads which are certified, suitable for the power rating, supporting 16A and earthed.
- Always turn the appliance off before unplugging it.
- To remove the plug from the socket, do not pull the power cable, but hold the plug itself to avoid damage to the plug and the cable.
- Always unplug the appliance if it is not in use and before any preparation, maintenance or cleaning operation.
- Fully unwind the cord and steam hose before connecting to the mains and before use. Always operate the product with the cord and steam hose fully unwound.
- Do not pull, jerk or strain (twist, crush, iron, cut) the cord or steam hose. Keep the cord and steam hose away from hot and/or sharp surfaces and appliances. Do not allow the cord and steam hose to touch the hot metal steam head. Avoid closing the cord and steam hose in doors and windows. Do not stretch the cord or steam hose around corners. Avoid stepping on the cord and steam hose. Do not walk over the cord or steam hose. Do not wind the power cord or steam hose around the appliance, especially if the appliance is hot.
- Do not change the plug on the power cable.
- If the cord or steam hose are damaged, they must be repla- ced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid any hazards. Do not operate the product if the power cord or steam hose is da- maged.
- Do not touch or use the appliance barefoot and/or with wet ENGLISH | 16 |body or feet.
- Do not use the appliance near containers full of water, e.g. sinks, baths and swimming pools.
- Do not immerse the appliance, including the power cable and plug, in water or other liquids.
- Steam must not be directed towards equipment containing electric or electronic components. RISKS DURING USE OF THE PRODUCT – INJURIES/SCALDING
- The product should not be used in areas where there is a danger of explosions or in the presence of toxic substances.
- Do not pour toxic substances, acids, solvents, detergents, corrosive substances and/or explosive liquids, perfumes or scented water into the water tank.
- Only pour water or the water mix indicated in the section “Which water to use” into the tank.
- Fill the tank with fresh water before each use and check the water level during use.
- Do not aim the steam jet at toxic substances, acids, solvents, detergents or corrosive substances. Handling and removal of dangerous substances must be carried out according to the indications of the manufacturers of these substances.
- Do not aim the steam jet at explosive powders or liquids, hy- drocarbons, flames and/or incandescent objects.
- Do not aim the steam jet at the appliance.
- Do not position the product near sources of heat such as fireplaces, stoves and ovens.
- Do not obstruct the openings and grills on the product.
- Do not attempt to use the steam jet on any part of a human or animal's body.
- Do not attempt to use the steam jet or the metal steam head on clothes while they are being worn.
- Cloths and fabrics which have been subjected to a deep steam reach very high temperatures, above 100°C. Take care when handling the appliance.
- Keep the product upright and on a stable surface while in use. ENGLISH | 17 |• Do not place the steam hose on the ground.
- Always keep the metal steam head and steam hose elevated and above the water tank.
- Do not insert any object into the steam vents.
- Do not place the metal steam head on any surface or on the power cord when it is hot.
- Make only vertical motions when steaming garments. Do not steam horizontally or upside down: hot water may come out of the appliance.
- Do not place the hot device on heat sensitive surfaces.
- Before connecting the appliance to the current, ensure that the continuous steam jet button is not pressed (if present).
- Do not drag the device. Instead, use the special handle to move it.
- Before emptying the water tank, turn the appliance off and wait at least 5 minutes for it to cool down.
- Wait until the product has cooled down completely before storing after use. ENGLISH

Vaporella Vertical Styler is intended for do- mestic use as a vertical ironing system accor- ding the descriptions and instructions contai- ned in this manual. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them. If this manual is lost, it can be consulted and/or downloaded from the website www.polti.com. POLTI S.p.A. reserves the right to make the aesthetic, technical and construction changes it deems necessary, without prior notice. Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. Vaporella Vertical Styler may already contain some residual water in the tank. Correct use of the product is only as detailed in this instruction manual. Any other use may damage the appliance and invalidate the warranty.
INFORMATION FOR USERS
Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU, regarding electric and electronic appliances, this appliance must not be disposed of with domestic waste, but must be sent to an official collection facility. This appliance complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EU. The crossed-out bin symbol on the appliance indicates that, at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life, the user must hand over the appliance to an appropriate collection centre for electric and electronic waste or, according to the legislation in force in the country, leave the used appliance with the distributor when buying a new product to replace it. Proper separate waste collection to facilitate the subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the appliance helps to prevent negative effects on the environment and human health, and promotes recycling of the materials the product is made of. Unlawful disposal by the owner may result in the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation.
Vaporella Vertical Styler has been designed to function with medium-hardness tap water between 8°f and 20°f. If the tap water is very hard, do not just use demineralised water but a mix composed of 50% tap water and 50% demineralised water which is widely available to purchase.
Warning: check the hardness of the water at
the technical office at your local council or the local water supplier. Do not use distilled water, undiluted demineralised water, rain water or water containing additives (e.g. starch, perfumes), scented water or water produced by other domestic appliances, by water softeners and filter jugs. Do not add chemical, natural, detergent, or limescale removing substances, etc.
1. PREPARATION FOR USE
1.1 Remove the device from the packaging
and check that the product is intact and all parts are present.
1.2 Place the main part of the device on the

at the top of the main device (2). To remove them, press the two side buttons and pull upward (3). Adjust the height by opening the clips and extending the telescopic tubes (4-5). Close each clip again to hold the tubes in place.
1.4 Insert the garment hanger over the two te-
lescopic tubes (6). Check that the hooks on the metal tubes are facing the water tank side (7). Remove the garment hanger by pressing the two levers on the sides of the telescopic tubes and pulling upward (8).
1.5 Connect the single hose with the metal
steam head to the main device. To connect it, pull the connector ring upward and insert the connector into the special hole (9) on the main device. Use the hook on the garment hanger to hang the steam head (10). The hook slides so that the head may hang on either side of the devi- ce.
1.6 Fill the water tank:
Remove the tank from the main device (11), turn it over and unscrew the cap (12). Fill the tank with water. This operation must always be carried out with the power cable disconnected from the mains. The convenient filling system allows you to refill the tank as needed, without having to wait for the steamer to cool down.
1.7 Replace the cap and put the tank back on

1.8 Insert the power plug into a suitable
earthed socket (13). The indicator on the front of the main device will light up when connec- ted to the mains.
1.9 Press the ON/OFF switch (14): the device
will make a sound and the steam regulator LED will light up.
Vaporella Vertical Styler is ideal for refreshing fabrics, removing creases and eliminating or- ders, even from household textiles. Always check the instructions on a garment’s tag before steaming. Using the table below, select the appropriate amount of steam for the fabric to be ironed or refreshed by turning the adjustment dial (15):
3.1 Be sure to follow the directions in Sec-
3.2 60 seconds after switching ON (14), the
device head will begin continuously produ- cing steam (16).
3.3 Adjust the amount of steam (15) as in-
structed in Section 2.
3.4 You may now begin steaming the fabric.
3.5 It is best to move from top to bottom.
3.6 To remove creases, press the metal steam
head on the fabric; for easier operation, stret- ch the fabric in the opposite direction (17).
3.7 For shirt sleeves, stretch the sleeve and
pass the steam head from top to bottom.
3.8 To revive heavier fabrics, attach the fabric
brush to the steam head (18). The bristles open the fibres of more resistant fabrics (like jackets, coats and textiles), allowing the steam to work deeper and stretch them.
3.9 The built-in garment hanger makes it easy
to use Vaporella Vertical Styler with various garments and fabrics. Hang jackets and coats directly on the garment hanger. For large tex- tiles (like tablecloths and linens), use the lower metal bar (19). Hang shirts and dresses directly on the centre hanger (20).
3.10 To get the best results with shirts, button
the first button so they hang evenly.
If the device stops producing steam, the wa- ter in the tank has been used up. Just refill the water tank, as described in Sec- tion 1, to begin steaming again.
5. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any maintenance on the device, always unplug it from the power mains making sure that the product has cooled down before proceeding. To clean the outside of the appliance, only use a damp cloth. Do not use detergents of any type.
6.1 Turn off the appliance and disconnect
from the mains electricity.
6.2 Wait for the appliance to cool down
completely before storing it.
6.3 Empty the water tank.
6.4 Replace the hose by hanging it in the
hooks on the metal tubes.
6.5 To remove accumulated water in the tank
compartment, place a container under the ac- cess valve on the left side of the device. Un- screw the valve in the direction shown until water begins to come out (21). ATTENTION: The hose will heat up while in use. This is completely normal. 1 SYNTHETIC • 2 VELVET • 3 SILK •• 4 WOOL •• 5 COTTON ••• 6 LINEN ••• If the fabric is very delicate, keep the metal steam head from touching the garment.

Steam is not coming out and the indicator light is on. No water in the tank. Add water to the tank as described in Section 1. Water is dripping from the steam head. The hose with the steam head has been kept in a horizontal position for a long period of time. The steam head was disturbed during use. Raise the head and position the hose vertically. to make any condensation go downwards. Move the head more slowly. Water is leaking from the base of the generator. The water tank cap was not screwed on properly. The water tank was not inserted properly. Unscrew the cap and screw it back on properly. Insert the water tank properly. If problems persist or are not listed above, please contact a Polti Authorised Service Cen- tre (www.polti.com for the updated list) or contact Customer Services. ENGLISH | 21 |WARRANTY This appliance is for domestic use only and is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase against any defects present at the time the goods are handed over; the date of purchase must be proven via a proof of purchase document valid for tax purposes and issued by the seller. For repairs, the appliance must be accompanied by proof of purchase. This warranty does not affect the consumer rights deriving from European Directive 99/44/EC as regards some aspects of sale and warranty of consumer goods, rights which the consumer should uphold with respect to the seller. This warranty is valid in the countries which adhere to European Directive 99/44/EC. For other countries, local regulations on warranties apply.
WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS
During the warranty, Polti guarantees free repair of a product with a manufacturing or factory defect and, therefore, the client is not liable to pay for any work or materials. In case of irreparable defects, Polti may replace the product free of charge. To avail of the warranty, the customer should visit one of the Polti Authorised Service Centres with proof of purchase from the seller valid for tax purposes and bearing the date of purchase of the product. Without proof of purchase and the relative date of purchase, the work will be charged for. Store the proof of purchase document safely for the whole duration of the warranty.
WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
- Any fault or damage not deriving from a manufacturing defect.
- Any fault due to improper use or use other than that indicated in the instruction booklet, an integral part of the product sales contract.
- Any defect resulting from force majeure (fires, short circuits) or caused by third parties (tampering).
- Damage caused by the use of non-original Polti parts, and repairs or modifications performed by staff or service centres not authorised by Polti.
- Damage caused by the customer.
- Parts (filter, brush, hose, etc.) damaged by use (consumable goods) or normal wear and tear.
- Any damage caused by limescale.
- Defects resulting from lack of maintenance/cleaning according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assembly of non-original Polti accessories or those that have been modified or which are not suitable for the appliance. Inappropriate use and/or use not compliant with the instructions for use and any other warnings or indications contained in this manual invalidates the warranty. Polti takes no responsibility for any direct or indirect damage to people, objects or animals caused by non-compliance with the instructions indicated in this instruction booklet, regarding warnings for use and product maintenance.
