First start-up

  • switch on the fuses.
  • etting the temperature.

■ Starts rinsing: Open the warm water tap and allow water to flow for at least 1 minute (flow-rate at least 6 litres per minute). Only then (for safety reasons) will the appliance begin to heat.

Tip: Should the appliance not start because of a reduced flow-rate, remove the perlator, shower head or similar before start and repeat the process.

■ Remove the flow-rate limiter (see Fig. A) with low water pressure.

Explain the operation of the continuous-flow heater to the user.

SIEMENS DE18401 - First start-up - 1

If the continuous-flow heater does not have sufficient water flow due to low water line pressure in your domestic plumbing system, remove the flow-rate limiter.

SIEMENS DE18401 - First start-up - 2

Priority circuit for the combination with electrical storage heaters: For operation with a priority circuit, a special load shedding relay BZ 45L20 (special accessory) is required. Other existing load shedding relays, with the exception of electronic load shedding relays, may malfunction.

SIEMENS DE18401 - First start-up - 3

The control electronics must be coded when operated with a load shedding relay.

Cleaning

SIEMENS DE18401 - How to operate the continuous-flow heater - 3

Turn on the hot-water tap.

The continuous-flow heater switches on and heats the water when the hot-water tap is turned on.

It switches off again when the tap is turned off. Changing the supply water temperature correspondingly changes the outgoing water temperature.

Increasing the water temperature

SIEMENS DE18401 - Increasing the water temperature - 1

text_image min max

If a higher temperature for a completely opened warm water tap is not achieved, more water flows than the flow-through heater can warm as a result its performance capabilities. In this case, the warm water tap must be closed somewhat.

Decreasing the water temperature

SIEMENS DE18401 - Decreasing the water temperature - 1

natural_image Simple diagram of a balance scale with min and max labels, no text or symbols present

Startup after a water cutoff

Switch off the appliance (unscrew the fuse in the house electrical installation).

Turn on the hot-water tap until the air is purged from the pipe.

■ switch the fuse back on again.

The appliance is ready for operation.

Saving energy

Set the desired warm water temperature directly on the flow-through heater.

Mixing with cold water at the armature for water that is too hot consumes unnecessarily water and energy.

At approx. 40 °C (temperature selection position 📋) the unit operates most economically.

Cleaning

Simply wipe the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use intensive or abrasive cleaning agents.

Customer Service

We ask you to always provide the E-No. and the FD-No. of your appliance when calling in a customer service engineer. You will find the numbers on the inner side of the fold up operating panel on the continuous-flow heater.
