  1. This appliance can be used by children aged

from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and

knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliccance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  1. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  2. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only swith on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

  3. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  4. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
  5. Connect appliance only to an AC power supply with voltage corresponding to the voltage on the rating plate.
  6. Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or remote control system.

  3. The electric kettle features boil dry protection, which means the appliance shuts off automatically if the heating element becomes too hot. Allow the appliance to cool about 15 minutes. Then fill the electric kettle with cold water. The boil dry protection is deactivated and the appliance is ready for operation again.
  4. Do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.

  5. Unplug the appliance from the power supply after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in to the power supply.

  6. Check the appliance, the plug and the power cord regularly for wear or damage. In case of damage to the power cord or other parts, please send the appliance or the base for inspection and repair to our after sales service. Unauthorized repairs can result in serious risks to the user and void the warranty.
  7. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

CAUTION:

Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. If the kettle jug is filled beyond its maximum capacity, boiling water can splash out. The appliance becomes very hot during operation and maintains the heat during some time after disconnection.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME

  1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices. Keep packaging materials away from children - danger of suffocation!
  2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".
  3. Check to make sure that the appliance is stable.
  4. Connect the base via the power cord to the power supply (220-240 V~, 50/60 Hz).
  5. Remove the kettlefrom the base and open the lid.

  6. Add clear, cold water to the "Max" marking.

  7. Closethe lidby pressing lightly.
  8. Place the kettle on the base.
  9. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF button. The control lamp at the bottom of the handle will turn on.
  10. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off and the indicator lamp goes out.
  11. For hygienic reasons, please discard the water from the first boiling.

OPERATION

  1. Remove the kettle from the base and open the lid.
  2. Fill the kettle with at least 0.5 liters of water ("Min" mar

king). Do not fill the kettle with more than 1.5 liters of water ("Max" marking).

  1. Close the lid by pressing lightly until it locks into place. The locking mechanism prevents the lid from opening accidentally when pouring water.
  2. Place the kettle upright on the base.
  3. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF button. The control lamp at the bottom of the handle will turn on.
  4. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
  5. To make the water stop boiling earlier, press the switch upward.
  6. Caution: The automatic shu t-off function works only if the lid is properly closed.
  7. If you want to boil more water, please allow the appliance to cool off for a few minutes.
  8. The appliance features boil dry protection. When operated without water or with excessive sca

ling, the appliance shuts off automatically. If this happens, please allow the appliance to cool off briefly before filling it with water again or descale the appliance as described in the chapter "Descending".
11. The power cord storage compartment is on the bottom of the base. It is used for storing the power cord or to effectively shorten the length of the cord.

Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.

  1. Do not immerse the base, power cord or kettle in water or other liquids or wash them in the dishwasher.
  2. Wipe off the base and the kettle with a damp cloth and a little dishwashing detergent. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, hot

cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.

DESCALING

  1. To keep the appliance operating efficiently and to prolong its service life, it should be descaled regularly, depending on the hardness of your water.
  2. Use off-the-shelf descending products for electronic kettles and comply with the manufacturer's instructions. To descale, fill the kettle half full, maximum, otherwise the liquid can boil over and can cause severe injuries.

  3. The appliance must be completely dry on the outside before you use it again.

  4. Heat the liquid (do not boil!) and allow it to sit for some time in the electronic kettle.

  5. Pour the descalingsolution out of the kettle.
  6. Then fill it with fresh water and bring to a boil. Pour this water out as well. Then rinse out the kettle at least twice with clean water.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

We grant a 24 months guarantee, and in case of commercial use a 12 months guarantee, starting from the date of purchase for any damage demonstrably due to manufacturing defects and when the appliance has been used according to its intended use. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs only in Germany and Austria. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
