DREN! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials. Danger of suffocation. Keep out of the reach of children. It is not a toy. BEWARE OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Any leaks or the escape of water can lead to danger to life from electric shock. Carefully check that all connections are watertight. Also ensure that all wires of electric Introduction / Safety advice37 GB appliances are correct and have been securely installed. CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Please ensure that no parts are damaged and that all parts are correctly assembled. Incorrect assembly could lead to injury. Please note that washers and gaskets are wear parts and therefore will need to be replaced from time to time. Dam- aged parts could adversely affect safety and proper function. When the scald protection is defective or not activated, hot water can lead to scalding. There- fore activate the scald protection as is described in Chapter „Scald protection“ and check the settings very carefully. CAUTION! Ensure that the hot / cold water plaque
has been attached the right way round. The correct position is: left = red (hot water), right = blue (cold water).
ATTENTION! DANGER OF MATERIAL
DAMAGE! Installation may only be carried out by experts. Leakage or escape of water can cause significant damage to buildings and house- hold contents. All connections must therefore be checked carefully to ensure that they are tight. Ensure that all seals are correctly seated to avoid escape of water due to leakage. Familiarise yourself with all local conditions, e.g. water connections and shut-off device, prior to installation. We recommend the installation of a filter or an angle valve. In this way you will protect the entrance of the taps from foreign bodies and protect the cartridge
from damage. The product is intended to be only used in rooms with a temperature above 0° C. In case of potential frost, cut off the water supply and drain the taps. Assembly Note: Familiarise yourself with the product prior to assembly. Carefully read the following assembly instructions and safety advice. In the event of incor- rect installation, all warranty claims – particularly in relation to subsequent damage – are excluded. CAUTION! Before you start installation turn off the water supply at the mains. Otherwise there is a danger of injury and / or damage to the product. CAUTION! Do not twist the connection hoses
or place them under tension. Note: To do this you will require a Phillips screwdriver, a slotted screwdriver and an open-end wrench SW 10 mm. Follow these steps: CAUTION! Ensure that you only tighten the connection hoses
manually. Do not use pliers or a wrench. Otherwise the product could be damaged. Screw the two long connection hoses
hand into the two external bores in the tap. Screw the short connection hose
by hand into the middle bore of the tap. Insert the free end of the shower hose
from the top through the tap body
Using a slotted screwdriver, screw the two thread bolts
as far as they will go into the tap body
and remove the two securing nuts
Lay the sealing ring
in the nut on the bottom of the tap body
and plug this into the open- ing on your sink. Under the sink, attach first the C sealing washer
and then C metal washer
The screw the two locking nuts
onto the thread bolts
and tighten then with the open- end spanner SW 10 mm until the tap is seated firmly on the sink. Lay the rubber seal
into the union nut of the shower hose
and screw the union nut onto the thread of the rinsing spray
the short connection hose
and connect this to the shower hose
Fasten the hose weight
at the bottom of the sink in such as way that the rinsing spray
can be pulled out of the tap sufficiently and can still be held securely in the inserted position. Fasten the two long connection hoses
to the pre-mounted seals
or to the angle valves, if Safety advice / Assembly38 GB appropriate. Ensure that the connection to hot and cold water is correct. Preparations for use After the initial commissioning, check all connections for leakage carefully. In order to remove any possible impurities, the tap has to be flushed before it is used for the first time. To do this, proceed as follows: Unscrew the aerator
from the rinsing spray
Open the main water supply and allow the water to flow for two minutes to flush out any residues. The replace the aerator
by screwing it onto the rinsing spray again
Operation Note: If the tap has not been used for a long period flush the pipes through thoroughly in order to avoid stagnation and build-up of residues. Open the main water supply. Lift the handle
and swing it to the right or left in order to regulate the speed or temperature of the water. Hot water: Swing the handle
to the left. Cold water: Swing the handle
to the right. Check operation of the mixer. To do so, swing the lever
into all permissible positions. Please check the connections regularly to ensure that they are tight. Eco Function / saving water The cartridge
in this tap gas an Eco function. This feature limits the rate of water flow through the tap. This means you can save up to 50 % water (see fig. B). Lift the handle
until you notice a slight resist- ance. This resistance will cause a stop in case of partial opening and will therefore simply limit the flow of water. If you want to increase the flow rate, exert slight pressure on the handle
until you overcome the resistance. Setting the scald protection The cartridge
in this tap has a scald protection function. This function is not activated before leaving the factory (neutral setting) (see fig. C / I). Note: Do not alter the setting of the scald protection until you have installed the tap. Note: For this step you need an Allen wrench that is included in the scope of delivery (2.5 mm)
Follow these steps: Switch off the general water supply. Remove the hot / cold plaque
by moving the handle
into top-most position and pushing the plaque
out carefully from inside with a long, flat object. Release the locking screw
by turning it in an anticlockwise direction. CAUTION! Do not unscrew the screw com- pletely. Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle
Unscrew the cartridge covering ring
Now pull the red adjusting ring
upwards with the aid of a screwdriver. Note: Press the cartridge pins slightly back- wards. This makes it easier to pull up the adjusting ring
CAUTION! Do not use a wrench. Do not release the cartridge nut and do not take off the cartridge
Reducing the hot water flow rate: Replace the adjusting ring
as shown in Figure C / II in offset position. Assembly / Preparations for use / Operation39 GB Reducing the hot water flow rate completely: Replace the adjusting ring
as shown in Figure C / III. Deactivating the hot water flow limitation: Replace the adjusting ring
as shown in Figure C / I (neutral setting). After setting the scald protection device, replace the cartridge covering ring
Switch over rinsing spray The rinsing spray head
is equipped with change- over buttons
for the shower function. Press the top button
on the show head to activate the shower. Press the bottom button Taste
to activate the aerator
Maintenance and Cleaning Maintaining and cleaning the tap Please note that sanitary taps require special care and attention. Therefore, please follow the instructions: When cleaning, never use petrol, solvent, ag- gressive cleansers or hard cleaning brushes etc. These could damage the surface of the product. Dry your taps with a cloth after every use in order to avoid the build-up of any limescale. Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and a mild cleaning agent if required. Unscrew and remove the aerator
at regular interval and remove any residues of scale or foreign bodies. In case of sever contamination or damage, replace the aerator
with a new one which you can order from the Service Centre notified to you. Note: The aerator
can normally be un- screwed by hand. Otherwise you can use a 22 mm wrench and you must lay a thin, damp cloth around the aerator
so that you do not damage it. A pipe wrench with plastic jaws is also suitable. Non-observance of the above care advice can be expected to result in damage to the surfaces of the product. In this event your rights under the warranty may be invalidated. Replacing the cartridge A cartridge
is a wear part that needs replacing according to the hardness and / or degree of con- tamination of the water. This becomes evident when the handle
becomes difficult to move. A new cartridges
can be obtained from the listed service office. Note: For this step you need an Allen wrench that is included in the scope of delivery (2.5 mm)
Proceed as follows to replace the cartridge
(fig. A): Shut off the main water supply. Allow any remaining water in the pipework to drain. Remove the hot / cold plaque
by moving the handle
into top-most position and pushing the plaque out carefully from inside with a long, flat object. Release the locking screw
by turning it in an anticlockwise direction. CAUTION! Do not unscrew the screw com- pletely. Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle
Unscrew the cartridge covering ring
Release the cartridge securing ring
beneath it, using a wrench and pull the complete car- tridge
out of the body of the tap
(Type 40 M ESV) into the body of the tap
in exactly the same way. Note: Make sure that the seal is fitted properly under the cartridge
. Make sure that the guides are in the corresponding holes. Re-assemble all the afore-mentioned parts again. Tighten the cartridge securing ring
hand-tight whilst holding the tap in place against the rotating movement. This ensures Operation / Maintenance and Cleaning40 GB tightness and prevents the lever motion from becoming sluggish. Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recy- clable materials which you can dispose of at your local recycling facilities. Contact your local waste disposal authority for more details on how to dispose of the product when it is no longer needed. Information Potability of tap water Find out about the potability of your tap water supply. Your local water authority or water supply company will be able to inform you. The following general recommendations apply to the potability of tap water: Let the water run freely for a short time if it has been stagnating in the pipes for more than four hours. Do not use any of this stagnant water in the preparation of food or for drinking. This ap- plies particularly as far as babies and infants are concerned. Otherwise health concerns can arise. Fresh water can be readily distinguished from stagnant water as fresh water is noticeably cooler as it leaves the pipe. Do not use stagnant water from chromium-plated pipes for the preparation of food or for drinking or for personal hygiene if you are allergic to nickel. This water may contain high quantities of nickel and trigger an allergic reaction. Do not use water from lead pipes for preparing food or drink for babies or infants. Do not use it for preparing food or drink during pregnancy. Lead dissolves in drinking water and is particu- larly damaging to the health of babies and young children.
