KITCHEN SCALE Thanks for having chosen the JOYCARE electronic kitchen scale, an accurate tool for a daily use in your kitchen. In order to ensure the correct usage of the scale, it is advisable to read carefully this instruction manual. It is also advisable to save this manual for a future use. Before switching the product on, place the bowl ,or any other container you use, on the scale platform. Switch the scale on, touching the TARE key without pressure (sensor touch buttons). The display will show, after a few second “ 0” and then to indicate that the scale is ready to be used. Press the UNIT key to select the desired measure unit (kg/lb/oz/g). This symbol means that the scale is ready or that the measuring result is ready. ATTENTION: PLACE THE FOOD ON THE SCALE BOWL ONLY WHEN THE DISPLAY HAS SHOWN“ 0” and

Tare function Turn the item on. To remove the weight of the bowl if it is placed after the item is turned4

on, or of any other container placed on top of the scales, press the TARE button, the display will show “0”. Do this procedure before you place the food on the scales. NB: Whether the container is placed on the platform before you switch the scale on, the scale will exclude the container weight automatically. Negative Value The tare usually appears as a negative number, when all weight is removed from the scales. Press the TARE button again to reset the item. ON/OFF switching Press the TARE key to switch the scale on and o. The scale switches itself o, after some seconds of non-use. Overload indicator When the weight exceeds the scale capacity (5 kg), the display shows: “EEEEE”. Remove the excessive weight immediately in order to avoid product damages. Low battery indicator Whether the display shows “LO”, this means that batteries are at and it is necessary to replace them. Open the batteries compartment, placed under the scale, and replace batteries by new ones, respecting the polarities shown in the compartment itself . Close the battery compartment. The supplied batteries are for trial use only and they may have a shorter life. Note: Do not mix new batteries with old batteries. Always use batteries of the same type. Remove batteries if device is not used for a long period of time.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Place always the product on a at and stable surface. Please clean the appliance with a damp and soft cloth avoiding any water seepage inside the scale. Do not use chemical detergents. Never deep the product into water. Avoid shaking, dropping or shocking the scale. This is a precision instrument and must be handled with care. Never try to repair the scale by yourself but always address to specialized centers; otherwise, the warranty will be not valid anymore. It is advisable to store the scale in a clean place. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents, can all cause an adverse eect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale. When the unit is not used for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove battery, as6

their leaking can damage the appliance. When the scale is switched o, never place or lay any objects on it. ATTENTION Use this product only for its intended purpose, as described in this instruction manual such as an electronic scale for domestic use only. Any other use should be considered improper and dangerous. Packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as they have the potential to be dangerous and their disposal should be carried out according to the current regulations. During the weighing procedure, food must come in contact only with special container, suitable for this purpose. These scales should not to be used to weigh objects or substances in commercial transactions, to produce medicines, to calculate tolls, taris, taxes, premiums, nes, remunerations, indemnities or fees of a similar kind determined by weight. The product is made conforming with all the applicable European regulations. DISPOSAL The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from household waste, either carry it to a separately-collected waste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose. Any infringement will be severely prosecuted. The batteries used in this device must be disposed of in the special bins at the end of their life. Joycare S.p.A., a company with a sole shareholder, oers a period of 3 year warranty after the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidental breakage, transportation, incorrect maintenance or cleaning, misuse, tampering or repairs carried out by non authorised third parties. The following is also excluded: damage caused by incorrect product installation, and damage caused by wear and tear, obviously including parts subject to wear and tear. In order to obtain the replacement/repair of products under warranty in cases other than those mentioned above, but which are instead caused by manufacturing defects, please contact your local importer/distributer. Goods that are not held to be in good condition because of the aforesaid causes must be accompanied by this certicate, duly lled-in, as well as a receipt for the goods (invoices and transport documents) and purchasing documentation. Please keep the original packaging of the product.
