KITCHEN SCALE Thanks for having chosen the JOYCARE electronic kitchen scale, an accurate tool for a daily use in your kitchen. In order to ensure the correct usage of the scale, it is advisable to read carefully this instruction manual. It is also advisable to save this manual for a future use.4

Buttons: ON / TARE: press once to switch on, hold the button down to switch o, press once for the tare function UNIT: Units of measurement selection (g/lb/oz/ml) Usage: Place the scale on a clean, at and rigid surface. Press the ON/TARE button to switch on the scale that will be ready for usage when the display shows “0 g” immediately after showing all the digits for a few moments. Press the UNIT button to select the chosen unit of measurement (g/lb/oz/ml). Place the bowl or other things you want to weigh on the scale platform and the weight will be shown on the display. example NB: If the bowl or another container is placed on the plate BEFORE switching on, the device automatically excludes this weight. Tare/weighing function Press the “ON/TARE” button to cancel the weight of the things previously placed on the scale platform. The display will show “Tare” and “0g”. Then put the food in the container or add other things on the platform and the weight of things you add will be displayed on the screen.4

Negative tare The tare is displayed as a negative number, when all the weight is removed from the device (including the container). Press the button ON / TARE: again to reset the product. Overload indicator When the weight exceeds the scale capacity (5 kg), the display shows: “EEEE”. Remove the excessive weight immediately in order to avoid product damages. Warnings: Always select an area with adequate natural or articial light before using the solar kitchen scale. Do not expose it to direct sunlight to avoid possible damages.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Place always the product on a at and stable surface. Please clean the appliance with a damp and soft cloth avoiding any water seepage inside the scale. Do not use chemical detergents. Never deep the product into water. Avoid shaking, dropping or shocking the scale. This is a precision instrument and must be handled with care. Never try to repair the scale by yourself but always address to specialized centers; otherwise, the warranty will be not valid anymore. It is advisable to store the scale in a clean place. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents, can all cause an adverse eect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale. When the unit is not used for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove battery, as their leaking can damage the appliance. When the scale is switched o, never place or lay any objects on it. ATTENTION Use this product only for its intended purpose, as described in this instruction manual such as an electronic scale for domestic use only. Any other use should be considered improper and dangerous. Packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as they have the potential to be dangerous and their disposal should6

be carried out according to the current regulations. During the weighing procedure, food must come in contact only with special container, suitable for this purpose. These scales should not to be used to weigh objects or substances in commercial transactions, to produce medicines, to calculate tolls, taris, taxes, premiums, nes, remunerations, indemnities or fees of a similar kind determined by weight. The product is made conforming with all the applicable European regulations. DISPOSAL The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from household waste, either carry it to a separately-collected waste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose. Any infringement will be severely prosecuted. The batteries used in this device must be disposed of in the special bins at the end of their life. Joycare S.p.A., a company with a sole shareholder, oers a period of 3 year warranty after the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidental breakage, transportation, incorrect maintenance or cleaning, misuse, tampering or repairs carried out by non authorised third parties. The following is also excluded: damage caused by incorrect product installation, and damage caused by wear and tear, obviously including parts subject to wear and tear. In order to obtain the replacement/repair of products under warranty in cases other than those mentioned above, but which are instead caused by manufacturing defects, please contact your local importer/distributer. Goods that are not held to be in good condition because of the aforesaid causes must be accompanied by this certicate, duly lled-in, as well as a receipt for the goods (invoices and transport documents) and purchasing documentation. Please keep the original packaging of the product.
