How to install the EHEIM Aquacorner 60 filter?

Fill the mediabox with the provided filter material, close the lid, rinse the cartridge and mediabox with lukewarm water. Insert the cartridge into the filter lid, then the mediabox. Hang the filter on the corner of the aquarium and plug it in.

How often to clean the filter?

Clean the cartridge and mediabox every 2-3 months or so, depending on the aquarium load. Clean lightly with lukewarm water to preserve the bacteria.

When to replace the filter cartridge?

Replace the cartridge after 2 to 3 cleanings, i.e., approximately every 6 to 9 months.

Can I use a filter media other than EHEIM SUBSTRATpro?

It is recommended to use EHEIM SUBSTRATpro for optimal biological filtration. Other media may work but can affect performance.

What to do if the pump does not work?

Check that the filter is fully submerged and the plug is connected. If the pump does not run, clean the impeller and pump chamber using the provided brush.

Can the filter be used in saltwater?

Yes, the EHEIM Aquacorner 60 is suitable for freshwater and saltwater, subject to regular maintenance.

How to maintain the impeller?

Unplug the filter, remove the pump cover, take out the impeller and clean it with the brush. Reassemble everything.

What safety precautions to observe?

Use a 30 mA residual current device. Never let the pump run dry. Do not immerse the plug in water. Children under 8 years must be supervised.

Where to find spare parts?

VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING- To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following.

This pump has not been investigated for use in swimming pools areas!

DO NOT RUN DRY!

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

• DANGER. To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs by yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.

• If the appliance falls into the water DON'T reach for it. First unplug the appliance immediately (Nonimmersible equipment only)

If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source.

• Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.

• Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it's malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.

• Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.

• To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting wet, position aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall mounted receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A "drip loop", shown in the figure, should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting the aquarium ap

pliance to a receptacle. The "drip loop" is that part of the cord below the level of the receptacle, to prevent water travelling along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DON'T unplug the cord; disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance. The unplug and examine for presence of water in the receptacle.

• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

• To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts.

• Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

• Do not use an appliance for other than intended use. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.

• Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.

• Make sure an appliance mounted on a tank is securely installed before operating it.

Safety instructions

Before putting the aquarium into operation, be sure to carefully read through the entire Operating Instructions and keep them handy for future reference.

For indoor use only. For use with aquariums.

All electrical equipment in the water must be disconnected from the mains during care and maintenance work. To protect against contact voltage being too high, the fixture must have a residual current device with a rated release fault current not exceeding 30mA . Ask your electrician.

The connecting line of this device can not be replaced. When the line is damaged, the device must no longer be used. Never carry the pump by the cable; do not bend the cable.

Only use filter in water: The pump must be positioned beneath the surface of the water.

This equipment can be used by children above the age of 8 or by persons with reduced physical, mental or sensory capacities or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instruction in the safe use of the equipment and therefore understand the risks involved. Do not allow children to play with this equipment. Do not allow children to clean or conduct user maintenance without supervision.

For your own safety, we recommend to form a drip loop with the connection cable to prevent any water running along the cable from intruding into the socket. When using a multiple socket or an external power supply unit, position them atop the filter's power connection.

The pump should not run dry. Temperature range from +4^ up to max. +35^ . The motor is protected from overheating.

Do not clean the unit - or parts of it - in the dishwater. Not dishwater resistant.

Function

A Assembly / Putting into operation

1 Fill mediabox ③ with filtering material included and close with mediabox lid ④ . Thoroughly rinse out filter cartridge ⑤ and filled mediabox ③ under running lukewarm water.
2 First put filter cartridge ⑤ in the filter lid ⑥, then also insert mediabox in filter lid ⑥ until it clicks into place. Insert the two ribs of the filter lid ⑥ into the grooves on the bottom of the filter housing ① and shut filter lid.
Install the interior filter on the left or right back corner of the aquarium with the suspension bracket ②. Put into operation by plugging in the mains plug.

Important: The pump must not run dry!

B Cleaning

• Disconnect the filter from the mains, and then pull upwards out of the tank.
  Open filter lid ⑥ take out mediabox ③ and filter cartridge ⑤
  3 Then clean the mediabox and wash out the filter cartridge. Only rinse off slightly the EHEIM SUBSTRATpro biological filtering material und lukewarm water so as to preserve the bacterial lawn and to accelerate its redevelopment. After the second or third cleaning, replace two-thirds of the filter material with new EHEIM SUBSTRATpro. Mix the rest of the used filter material with the new material so that the bacteria cultures multiply faster. After the second or third cleaning, replace the filter cartridge.

Important: Do not overfill the mediabox, as otherwise it will no longer fit precisely.

C Maintenance

Disconnect the filter from the mains, and then pull upwards out of the tank.

Take off the pump plid, take off the pump impeller with the pin on the pump lid and clean.
Take off dosing chamber lid ⑧ , and clean dosing chamber ⑦ , pu mp chamber and outflow opening with cleaning brush (order no. 4009560). Afterwards, put the pump impeller back in, and close with pump lid. Put the filter back in the aquarium and put into operation using the mains plug.
