How to install the Aiphone JPDVF video door station?

What type of cable should I use to connect the door station?

It is recommended to use LYT1 8/10 telephone cable (diameter 0.65 mm to 1.2 mm) with PVC PE insulated sheath. Never use individual conductors, twisted pair cable, or coaxial cable.

What is the maximum range between the door station and the master station?

The maximum distance depends on cable diameter: for ∅0.65 mm: 50 m, for ∅0.8 mm: 100 m, for ∅1.0 mm: 100 m, for ∅1.2 mm: 100 m.

How to clean the unit properly?

Clean the units with a soft cloth and a mild cleaning product. Do not spray the product directly onto the unit. Never use abrasive products. For the lens, gently wipe with a soft cloth and use only isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or methanol if necessary.

What to do if the video image is poor?

Check that the unit is not exposed to direct sunlight, public lighting, or backlighting. Adjust the mounting position and zoom (adjustable from the master station). The minimum illumination required is 5 Lux at 50 cm.

Can the door station be used outdoors?

Yes, the door station is weather-resistant. However, do not spray high-pressure water directly on the unit, as this may cause malfunction.

How to insert the transparent nameplate labels?

Remove the front cover, detach the protective seals, write the name on the label leaving 25 mm of white space on the right, then insert the label into the opening at the back of the front cover.

Is the unit covered by a warranty?

Yes, Aiphone warrants the product against any defect in material or workmanship for 2 years after delivery to the end user. The warranty covers free repair or replacement, subject to normal use and compliance with instructions.

Can I adjust the camera zoom?

Yes, the zoom position can be changed. The default setting is 'Centered'. Refer to the master station user manual for adjustment details.

① Removing the main unit from the mounting frame

Remove the main unit. (Loosen the locking screws.)

Mounting screw × 2 (not included)

Screw shaft: ∅4.1 or less

Slotted head: ∅8.2 or less, 3.0mm or less in height

③ Mount the main unit on the mounting frame, and fit the front panel on.

④ Insert the filled-in transparent nameplate at the specified insertion opening (indicated with in diagram) as below.

- Door station is weather resistant. However, do not spray high pressure water on door station directly. Unit trouble could result.

- Cleaning:

• Clean units with a soft cloth and gentle cleaner. Do not spray cleaner directly on unit. Do not use an abrasive cleanser or cloth.

• Wipe away dirt from the lens softly with a soft cloth. Observe the following points for lens care.

• Take care not to scratch the lens.

• Do not use organic solvents other than isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and methanol.
• Do not use thinner, benzene, etc. It may cause damage or discoloration to the surface of the unit.

Aiphone warrants its products to be free from defects of material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of two years after delivery to the ultimate user and will repair free of charge or replace at no charge, should it become defective upon which examination shall disclose to be defective and under warranty. This warranty does not cover batteries or damage caused by batteries used in connection with the unit. This warranty covers bench repairs only, and any repairs must be made at the shop or place designated in writing by Aiphone. This warranty is limited to the standard specifications listed in the operation manual. This warranty does not cover any supplementary function of a third party product that is added by users or suppliers. Please note that any damage or other issues caused by failure of function or interconnection with Aiphone products is also not covered by this warranty. Aiphone will not be responsible for any costs incurred involving on site service calls. Aiphone will not provide compensation for any loss or damage incurred by the breakdown or malfunction of its products during use, or for any consequent inconvenience or losses that may result.
