  • Packaging material may not be used as a plaything. Risk of suffocation.

Disposal of packaging materials

The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.

SILVERCREST SEK 400 C2 - Disposal of packaging materials - 1

Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste which is generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.

NOTE

If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance for the duration of the warranty period so that the device can be packed properly for return shipment in the event of a warranty claim.

Before use

Before starting to use the appliance, ensure that ...

  • the appliance, power plug and power cord are in perfect condition and
  • all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance.

1) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section entitled "Cleaning and care".
2) Unwind the cable from around the cable retainer 5 and guide it through the recess on the edge.
3) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.

The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling eggs

1) Pierce a hole in the top or bottom of the eggs using the egg piercer ⑦. This allows the air inside the egg to dissipate as it expands during boiling. This prevents the shell from bursting open.
2) Place the eggs into the egg tray ② with the pierced end facing upwards.
3) Fill the measuring cup with the required amount of water. The amount of water depends on the number of eggs and the required hardness. Use the scale and symbols on the measuring cup for orientation:

Symbol Meaning
hard-boiled eggs
medium-boiled eggs
soft-boiled eggs

NOTE

Depending on the size of the eggs, you may have to adjust the amount of water indicated on the scale on the measuring cup 6 and add more or less water to achieve the required hardness for your eggs.

If the egg is too soft, add a little more water (approximately one line higher on the scale). This increases the cooking time. The egg will become harder. If the egg is too hard, add a little less water the next time (approximately one line lower on the scale). This reduces the cooking time. The egg will be softer.

4) Now pour the water into the water pan 3.
5) Place the egg tray 2 into the water pan 3 and put the lid 1 on top.
6) Push the operating switch 4 on the left-hand side (position "") to switch the appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up.

As soon as the eggs are cooked, a beep will be heard.

NOTE

  • Push the operating switch ④ back to the middle position to switch the appliance off.

7) After cooking, hold the eggs under cold, flowing water.

Keeping eggs warm

NOTE

You do not need to fill the water pan 3 with water to keep the eggs warm!

Only use the keep warm function for hard-boiled eggs.
After cooking, hold the eggs under cold, flowing water.

8) Press the operating switch 4 on the right-hand side to activate the keep warm function (position "") after cooking the hard-boiled eggs.

9) Push the operating switch ④ back to the middle position to switch the appliance off.
