Speaker Introduction We congratulate you on the pur- chase of your new device. You have chosen a high quality prod- uct. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instruc- tions for use. Only use the unit as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it. Intended use This speaker, a consumer electronic, is intended to render audio transmitted via Bluetooth. The speaker is also suitable as a hands-free device for mobiles; the mobile or the computer must support Bluetooth

standard to do so. The buttons built into the speaker allow you to select the piece of mu- sic from the playlist selected on the playback7 GB/IE/NI device. They are further used to adjust the volume of the speaker. The built-in rechargeable battery allows for cordless operation. The product is designed for private use, and must not be used for commercial purposes. Any other use is considered improper. Any claims resulting from improper use or due to unauthorised modification of the speaker will be considered unwarranted. Any such use is at your own risk. RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE

This product does not contain any parts which can be serviced by the user. The rechargeable battery cannot be re- placed. Check the product before every use! Dis- continue use if any damage to the device or the charging cable is detected! If you notice anything unusual during use (e.g. unusual noise, strange odour or smoke), switch the device off immediately and disconnect all cables. Do not use the device anymore. Sudden temperature changes may cause condensation inside the device. In this case, allow the device to acclimate for some time before using it again!12 GB/IE/NI Do not place burning candles or open fire on or near the speakers. Do not use the product near heat sources such as radiators or other devices emit- ting heat! Do not throw the speaker into fire and do not expose to high temperatures. Protect the speaker from dripping and spray water. Only use the device in a dry environment! DANGER Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel. DANGER Radio interface Switch the device off on airplanes, in hospi- tals, service rooms, or near medical electronic systems. The wireless signals transmitted could impact the functionality of sensitive electronics. Keep the device at least 20 cm from pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators, as the electromagnetic radia- tion may impair the functionality of pacemak- ers. The radio waves transmitted could cause interference in hearing aids. Do not place the device near flammable gasses or potentially explosives areas (e.g. paint shops) with the wireless components on, as the radio waves emitted can cause explosions and fire. The range13 GB/IE/NI of the radio waves varies by environmental conditions. In the event of wireless data trans- mission, unauthorised third parties receiving the data cannot be excluded. OWIM GmbH & Co KG is not responsible for interference with radios or televisions due to unauthorised modification of the device. OWIM GmbH & Co KG further assumes no liability for using or replacing cables and devices not distrib- uted by OWIM. The user of the device is fully responsible for correcting interference caused by such unauthorised modification of the de- vice, as well as replacement of such devices. Warnings regarding the built-in rechargeable battery CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD! DANGER! The speakers have a built-in rechargeable lith- ium polymer battery. Improper handling of rechargeable lithium polymer batteries may result in fire and explosion. Furthermore, hazardous substances may leak from the rechargeable battery.14 GB/IE/NI Do not throw the device into fire. Do not operate the device outside the operating conditions specified under „Technical Data“! Risk of damage to the rechargeable battery Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which may affect rechargeable batteries, e.g. on heaters or in direct sunlight! Do not cover the device during use or charging! Only charge the battery in a dry environ- ment, as the device is not splash-proof. A chemical released by a leaking battery may irritate the skin. If the chemical comes into contact with the skin, rinse the skin with plenty of water. If the chemicals come into contact with the eyes, rinse eyes with plenty of water, do not rub eyes, and seek medical attention. Be very careful when handling damaged or leak- ing batteries. Risk of injury! Wear gloves! Before use Note: All parts have to be unpacked and the packaging material has to be removed completely.15 GB/IE/NI Before use, verify the package contents are complete and undamaged! Place the device on a level, even surface for operation. Charging The battery must be charged prior to first use. When the battery is drained, a sound will be emitted every 30 seconds during operation. The battery should then be charged as soon as possible. Music playback is automatically paused when a call is received. The microphone

to start music playback manually. Storage when not in use Store the device in a dry location from dusk, protected from direct sunlight. The rechargeable battery has to be charged periodically. Cleaning Switch the device off, remove all plugs, and close the protective cover

before cleaning!20 GB/IE/NI Only clean the outside of the device using a soft, dry cloth! At persistent soiling, a mild cleaning agent can be used. No acid, chafing or solvent cleaning agents should be used or the device can be damaged.
