You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information on safety, usage and disposal.
Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all handling and safety guidelines. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified.
Retain these instructions for future reference. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s).
Intended use
The Bluetooth® speaker is a consumer electronics device and is intended for playing back audio signals. The device is splash-proof (IP X4) and can therefore also be used in damp rooms such as bathrooms or showers. In addition, thanks to the built-in microphone, you can also use the speaker as a hands-free kit to take calls It is intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial purposes. This product is not intended for use in activities concerned with medicinal, lifesaving or life sustaining applications.
It is not intended for any other use or use beyond that specified. Claims of any kind for damage arising as a result of incorrect use will not be accepted. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

Safety
In this section, you will find important safety instructions for using the device. Improper use may result in personal injury and material damage.
Basic safety guidelines
To ensure safe operation of the device, follow the safety guidelines set out below
■ Prior to use, check the device for visible external damage. Do not operate a device that has been damaged or dropped.
■ Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures. Otherwise it may overheat and be irreparably damaged.
■ Do not operate the product near heat sources such as radiators or other heat-generating devices.
- Do not place lit candles or other open flames on or next to the speaker.
■The speaker may warm up during charging. Place the speaker in a well-ventilated location during the charging process and do not cover it.
The speaker battery may only be charged in a dry environment as the unit is not protected from splashes when the POWER INPUT connection socket is open. In this respect, please also refer to the operating instructions for the charging device.
■ Never attempt to open the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Do not make any unauthorised modifi cations or alterations to the device.
All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose significant risks to the user. It will also invalidate any warranty claim.
- Check regularly that the suction cup is secure and undamaged.
Do not use the suction cup on porous or uneven surfaces. Otherwise there is a risk that the device will fall off. The suction cup adheres best on smooth surfaces, e.g. mirrors or smooth tiles.

DANGER
Packaging materials (such as plastic film or polystyrene) must not be used as playthings. Risk of suffocation!

DANGER
The speaker has an integrated lithium polymer battery. Mishandling lithium polymer batteries can cause fi res, explosions, leakages or other hazards!
▶ Do not throw the speaker into a fire and do not subject it to high temperatures.
▶ Chemicals leaking from a lithium polymer battery can cause skin irritation. In event of contact with the skin, rinse with copious amounts of water.
If the chemicals come into contact with your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water, do not rub and consult a doctor immediately. Take particular care when handling damaged or leaking batteries.
Risk of injury! Wear protective gloves.

NOTE
▶ Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible damage.
If the consignment is incomplete or damaged due to defective packaging or carriage, contact the Service hotline (see the chapter Service).
Remove all parts of the device from the packaging and remove all packaging materials.
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the device from damage during shipment. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging to the materials cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated.
Dispose of packaging materials which are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Handling and operation
This section provides you with important information on handling and using the device.
Charging the battery
Before using the device, the integrated battery must be completely charged.

CAUTION
The battery should only be charged in a dry environment.
♦ Switch the speaker off.
Connect the USB plug on the charger cable ⑨ to a PC or to a USB power supply.
Connect the micro USB plug on the charger cable ⑨ to the POWER INPUT connection socket ⑦ on the device. The operating LED ① lights up red and the battery charges.
NOTE
The operating LED ① lights up red during charging and goes off when the battery is fully charged.
The charging time is approximately 2 hours with a charging current of 500 mA and allows music play-back of up to 3 hours. The playback time may vary depending on usage (volume).
When the battery is exhausted, you will hear a beep every 5 seconds and the battery must be recharged. You can also use the speaker while it is charging.
Switching the speaker on/off
Press and hold the ⏻ button ① for about 2 seconds to turn the speaker on and to activate the Bluetooth® function. You will hear two low beeps and the operating LED fl ashes blue.
Press and hold the ⏻ button ① again for about 2 seconds to turn the speaker off and to deactivate the Bluetooth® function. You will hear three high beeps.
Pairing the speaker with a Bluetooth® music device
Before you can use the speaker, you must pair it with a compatible Bluetooth® music device.
◆ Ensure that the speaker is switched off and the Bluetooth® music device is switched on.
- Set the Bluetooth® music device so that it searches for other Bluetooth® devices. A detailed description of how to do this is to be found in the operating instructions for your Bluetooth® music device.
Press and hold the ⏻ button ① for about 2 seconds to turn the speaker on and to activate the Bluetooth® function. You will hear two low beeps and the operating LED flashes blue every half second.
Select your the entry SLBB 4 A1 from the list of found devices on your Bluetooth® music device and, if required, enter the code "0000", to connect the two devices. The operating LED now fl ashes blue at one-second intervals.
Once the speaker is successfully connected you can use it to listen to your favourite tunes wirelessly.
NOTE
The next time you turn on the speaker it will connect automatically to the Bluetooth® music device last connected. If your Bluetooth® music device does not automatically reconnect you will have to re-establish the connection to your Bluetooth® music device manually. A detailed description of how to do this can be found in the operating instructions for your Bluetooth® music device.

Cleaning
CAUTION
Possible damage to the device
Moisture can cause damage to the device.
To avoid irreparable damage to the device, ensure that no moisture gets into it during cleaning. Ensure that the POWER INPUT connection socket ⑦ is closed properly.
▶ Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaning materials. These can damage the surfaces of the device.
- Clean the housing of the device with a lightly moistened cloth and a mild detergent only.
Storage
◆ Store the device in a location which is clean, dry, dust-free and not in direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot pair the speaker to a compatible Bluetooth® music device, proceed as follows:
Make sure that the function is activated on the music device.
◆ Ensure that the speaker is switched on.
If you use several music devices, ensure that any previous connection is disconnected. This may indicate that a previously paired device is in range.
Make sure that the speaker is no more than 10 metres from the music device and that no obstacles or electronic devices are placed between them.
NOTE
If you cannot solve the problem with the above-mentioned solutions, please contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).
Disposal
Disposal of the device

The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin means that this device is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this device may not be disposed of in normal household waste at the end of its usable life, but must be handed over to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
This disposal is free of charge for the user.
Protect the environment and dispose of this device properly.
You can obtain further information from your local disposal company or the city or local authority.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase.
The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.

Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. buttons or batteries.
