Before using the machine, carefully read this entire instruction manual. Keep this booklet in a safe place for reference.

The apparatus was subjected to extensive material, function and quality tests before delivery. Nevertheless, dangers can arise from the use of the apparatus if it is incorrectly used by untrained personnel!

GENERAL SAFETY GUIDELINES

• This device is only to be used indoors.
• Check fan, plug and cable for damage before every use. If you discover any damage (even if this is found later, after a fall for example) or if the device fails to operate properly, do not use and ask a supplier/trained electrician to repair it. Never open up the device or remove components/screws, make no modifications to the device and don’t carry out repairs yourself!
• Before every use, check that the voltage on the socket to be used matches the voltage indicated on the device's specification plate: 220-240V / 50Hz. Only use an undamaged, earthed socket, protected by an earth leakage circuit breaker.
• Avoid the use of extension cables. If unavoidable, use an approved cable with sufficient power (3x1,5). Completely unroll the cable. Use only earthed cable. Do not pull at the cord and don't use it as a handle. The electrical cable may never come into contact with sharp, hot or moving objects, must not be wound around the fan and must not be bent or rolled up too tightly.

- Always ensure that the floor is sturdy, flat and horizontal.

■ Never touch the device with wet hands!

- Make sure that no liquid gets inside the device. If this should occur, turn off the device, unplug it and have it checked by a professional.

- Never expose the device to intense heat.

- Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between the suction openings and walls. Keep the suction- and blow-openings clear and clean. Never hang things over the device. Ensure that curtains, clothing etc do not come into the vicinity of the fan. Keep hair and loose clothing away from the machine.

- Never insert a finger, pen or any other object through the protective grille when the fan is in use!

- Never spray any products (anti-insect, cleaning agent etc) on or in the fan.

- Do not store or use the fan:

• in locations where it could become wet or fall into water;
• near flammable, explosive or gaseous substances;
• near acids, alkalis, oil or other corrosive substances.

- Never connect the fan to a timer or dimmer.

- Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture and store it indoors. Never immerse the device, cable or plug in liquid!

- First turn off the fan and then remove the plug from the socket before moving, cleaning or carrying out maintenance. Move the device only by lifting the handle.

■ Always remove the plug from the socket after use.

- Close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children, incapacitated persons or pets. The device is not suitable for use by persons (including children) with a physical, sensual or mental limitation or a lack of experience and knowledge, irrespective of whether they are being supervised or have been issued with instructions in relation to the use of the device by a person who is responsible for their safety. Always ensure that children cannot play with the device.

- This device should only be used for the purposes set out in the booklet. Any other usage may be dangerous (could cause fire, injury, damage, electric shock etc), will invalidate the guarantee and no liability will be taken by the supplier.

- The operation of any air blower can result in foreign objects being blown in the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear safety goggles complying with EN code. Everyday glasses have only impact resistant lenses, they are not safety glasses. Glasses or gog-gles not in compliance with european standards can seriously hurt you. To reduce the risk of hearing damage, wear ear protectors if in the vicinity of where

a blower is operating for an extended period of time, or when using it in a noisy area.

The blower is designed to move large volumes of air. It can either be used to dry wet carpets, floors and furniture, even the hard to reach; or provide moisture control and even excellent air circulation.

The Dry Best 400 is designed to work on three positions (see the figures).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Position

• Level the blower out of the carton, remove if necessary packing, and uncoil the power cord.
• Before using the device, make sure all of the safety guidelines have been taken into account and that the safety grills are correctly attached.

• Find the most suitable area for the device, depending on the purpose for which you are using it. The area should be free of vibration, have a stable surface and be dry, flat and completely horizontal. The temperature in the room should not exceed 40^ C and should not be excessively dusty. Do not place the device near flammable substances or gases.

• Point the extractor opening in the desired direction.

• Check that the device does not contain any foreign objects that stop the ventilator from turning. Remove them if necessary.

Operation

• Operation button to 0.
• Insert the plug into the socket; only connect to an earthed socket! The blower is now ready to use.
• Drybest 400:
• Choose the setting desired:

Back to 0 = switch off

- Drybest 750:

If desired, mount the suction or extractor hose.

Back to 0 = switch off

In order to switch off, always turn the button to 0 then take the plug out of the socket!

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always turn the fan off and take plug out of socket before cleaning or carrying out maintenance work!

• Inspect the electrical cord, plug and the wiring for damage or discoloration. If they are not all right, they have to be replaces/repaired by a qualified electrician.
• Check the device and any accessories regularly to ensure that they are in perfect condition. Also check all screws and tighten them if necessary.
• Pay attention to any abnormal sounds, which may indicate damage. The potential cause may also be imbalance. If in doubt, consult an expert.
• Keep the unit clean. Use a compressor (do not use overly high pressure, in order to avoid damage) or vacuum to remove lint, dust etc., from motor, screens or blower wheel. Do not use a pressure washer to clean the unit. Never open the device, not even to remove jammed objects or stubborn dirt.
• Clean the grille and house with a (slightly humid) soft cloth. Do not use a corrosive or abrasive cleaning agent! Dry everything properly.
• Always consult a qualified electrician or your dealer for repairs or maintenance. Ask for original spareparts.
• Store the fan in a safe, dry place that is not subject to extremes of temperature.

Protect it against moisture and dirt, preferably in its original packaging.

- Do not dispose the device with household waste when it becomes worn or damaged beyond repair. Take it to your local authority's collection point for electrical appliances where any reusable materials will be collected and redistributed.

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

The ventilator is not working

• No power. Is the device plugged in? Is the power outlet working?
• The power outlet is the wrong voltage. Choose the appropriate plug.

The ventilator cuts out after a short period

• The motor or cable attachment is defective. Contact your service point.
• The safety grills are dirty. Clean them.

The ventilator or motor is noisy

• The ventilator is dirty. Clean it.
• The device is damaged. Contact your service point.

A scraping sound is audible

• The ventilator blades are dirty or there is a foreign object inside the rotation range of the blades. Remove it.
• The ventilator blades are damaged. Have them repaired or replaced.

There are vibrations

• The device is not upright or unstable. Place it on a flat, stable surface.
• Certain connections are poorly attached. Tighten all screws.
• Imbalance in the ventilator blades. Have this rectified by a technician.
• The ventilator blades are dirty. Clean them.

The ventilator is blowing a minimum of air

- The air suction and/or extractor openings are not clear. Remove any objects that are covering the openings and do not position the openings too close to walls.
