IMPORTANT: Read all instructions carefully before using Steam Guard™ Microwave Sterilizer and retain for future reference. To reduce risk of bums, use Steam Guard™ Microwave Sterilizer only in accordance with the following instructions. The Munchkin Steam Guard™ Microwave Sterilizer uses the speed and convenience of your microwave to sterilize baby feeding equipment in minutes as well as breast and bottle feeding accessories. You can sterilize any other items that are suitable for microwave use and can be boiled. If in doubt, please contact the manufacturer.
⚠ WARNING: DELUXE BOTTLE BRUSH INCLUDED WITH STERILIZER SHOULD NOT BE STERILIZED IN THIS UNIT. The Deluxe Bottle Brush is included for pre-washing bottles and bottle accessories. It contains metal components which are prohibited from microwave use. Attempting to sterilize the Deluxe Bottle Brush in the microwave is a potential fire hazard. The Deluxe Bottle Brush may be cleaned in the dishwasher on the top rack.
△WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY CAUSE INJURIES, DAMAGE TO THIS PRODUCT AND/OR YOUR MICROWAVE.
- Always add 7 fl. oz. of water before each use. Using distilled water is recommended as it reduces mineral deposits.
- Do not use bleach or chemical sterilizing solutions/tablets in your steam sterilizer or on products to be sterilized.
- In combination ovens, ensure grill is switched off and has cooled before use.
• Always follow loading instructions and do not overload. - When sterilizing any feeding items, simply arrange the components within the rack ensuring that steam can effectively circulate in and around all surfaces.
• Always allow at least 2 minutes cooling time before removing the sterilizer from the microwave. - When removing from the microwave, USE CAUTION – the sterilizer will still be hot.
- USE CAUTION when removing lid as hot steam will escape. Take care when opening the lid, as the handles will be hot and hot steam will escape and may cause burns.
- Do not carry sterilizer using lid handle.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- This product is not intended for use by children and persons with limited physical or mental capabilities unless they have been instructed or supervised on the proper use of this product by a person responsible for their safety.

- Base a – Side catches for transport
Before each use
- Prior to sterilizing, wash all items in mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly in unsoftened water. It is recommended not to use antibacterial soap because over time and with consistent use, plastic may become brittle.
- Remove rack and pour 7 fl. oz. of water, preferably distilled, into the reservoir.
- Put the rack back into the base.
When loading the sterilizer, always ensure the items are positioned to allow effective circulation of steam.
To load up to four 5 oz. or 9 oz. wide mouth bottles (see diagram B)

- Place up to four collars behind crescent-shaped holders.
- Place nipples inside crescent-shaped holders.
- Slot dome cap into dome cap holder.

- Arrange the other breast pump and bottle accessories or other components.
To Sterilize
- CHECK THAT YOU HAVE ADDED THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF WATER
(7 fl. oz.) Failure to add enough water may cause damage to this product and/or your microwave. Adding too much water may cause your items to not be properly sterilized.
- Clip the lid on using the side catches and place into microwave.
• See TABLE A for microwave wattage and timings. Do not exceed these times.
IMPORTANT: WAIT AT LEAST TWO MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING STERILIZER FROM MICROWAVE. This will complete the sterilization cycle and allow the unit to cool slightly.
- After the unit has cooled, the lid can be easily removed by unclipping the side catches one at a time. USE CAUTION when removing lid as hot steam will escape.
- After each cycle, drain the excess water from the unit and rinse to prevent limescale build-up.
- Items will remain sterile in the sterilizer for up to three hours providing the lid is not removed.
- The Munchkin Steam Guard™ Sterilizer is top-rack dishwasher safe. Food colorings may discolor components.
