• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
• Do not immerse the device in water or other fluids.
• If nonetheless, liquid should penetrate the inside of the device, unplug the mains cable immediately.
• Do not use the device if the cable or plug is damaged and keep the cable away from hot surfaces.
• Only use the device with water and appropriate bath oils and not with other liquids.
• Do not attempt to plug in and unplug the unit while feet are in water.
• Turn the device off after use and pull the plug out of the socket.
• Do not stand up inside the device as it is not designed to take the burden of full body weight.
• Place the device on a firm floor area when in use so that it cannot tip over.
• Touch the switch and plug only with dry hands.
• Do not use the cable to pull or carry the device.

• Do not leave the device unattended when it is switched on.

• The appliance must always be operated with water (contents app. 6 liter).
• Do not fill water over the "MAX" water-level line ⑥ marked on the unit. This unit is designed so that it heats up to and maintains the selected temperature, but will not exceed it.
• Do not use the device outdoors.
• Do not use the appliance in damp rooms like bathroom, near a shower or swimming pools or near to other open water sources.
• Never cover up the ventilation holes on the bottom of the device.
• If the device malfunctions do not repair it yourself. Do not use the device further. Ask your specialist dealer and only have repairs carried-out by authorised service companies.
• If water leaks from the appliance, the appliance should no longer be used.
• Should you have any health questions regarding the application, your doctor will certainly be able to help you further.
• Should you have inexplicable pain or swellings in your legs or feet or have injured a muscle, please consult your doctor before use.
• Stop a massage if you experience pain during the application or swellings crop up after use.

2.1 Items supplied and packaging

Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your supplier or your service centre.

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required.

If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your supplier without delay.

WARNING

Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

2.2 Pedicure using the FS 885 foot spa comfort

Well cared for feet not only look good, they are generally speaking also healthy. Just a few minutes' attention per day suffice for highly stressed feet to feel good and cope with the daily chores without pain. One important part of pedicure is a relaxing footbath.

The MEDISANA FS 885 foot spa comfort offers the best pre-requisites for this. It makes a powerful foot massage, an intensive reflex zone massage and red light heat radiation too. The air jets and vibration are activated by switching on the massage function. The red light function is also activated in the process. Whatever you select, the varied applications help you to achieve an effect for body and soul which most people find pleasant and relaxing.

Massage

Equipped with vibrating nipples 11, air nozzles 8, removable massager rolls 7 and a central roll unit 12, the MEDISANA FS 885 foot spa comfort enables a foot massage from the sole to the foot instep. Press the Start/Stop button 5 to activate/deactivate the massage function (air jet/ vibration and red light). The foot massage supplies the tissue layers better with blood and can thus unblock veins and lymphoid vessels. Tense muscles can be loosened and painful joints soothed. The metabolism in the cells is stimulated.

Heat treatment and red light

The MEDISANA FS 885 foot spa heats up and maintains the temperature set by you and ensures that it does not increase while you are using it. Press button to set the most agreeable temperature.

The red light is activated when you switch on the massage function and deactivated when you switch it off. The red light can help to stimulate the blood circulation. The radiation penetrates the soles of your feet and creates a warm, pleasant feeling.

3.1 Filling with water

Before filling the device with water, make sure that no mains leads are connected, i.e. the electricity lead must not be plugged-in! When the foot spa comfort is securely placed on the floor (ensuring that it cannot tip over), and has been filled with water, insert the mains plug into the power supply socket. The MEDISANA FS 885 foot spa can be filled with up to 6 litres of water. The maximum filling height is marked in the foot spray bath. You can use cold or warm water with or without bath additives, just as desired.

CAUTION
Make sure that you use your MEDISANA foot spa comfort on a safe and even surface that is not sensitive to moisture.
Never use any foaming bath additives or bath salts.

3.2 Function setting

ON/OFF

After connected with the mains, press the button 3 to switch on the appliance. The display 2 shows the starting temperature. When you press the switch 3 again, the appliance will be shut down.

Temperature

The MEDISANA FS 885 foot spa comfort includes an innovative heating function. This technical improvement makes it possible to keep the water at a constant temperature during application or to warm it. When you switch on the device, the starting temperature appears in the display ②. Each time you press button ①, the set temperature increases by 3^ up to 39^ . From 39 to 48^ , the temperature increases by 1^ each time you press button ①. When the device is on, the current temperature is always shown in display ②.

Timer

Generally speaking you can take about 20 minutes for a footbath with a massage, once or twice daily. When you switch on the device with button ③ , operation time is set to 20 minutes. Press button ④ to prolong the operation time in 10 minute steps up to 60 minutes. You should ensure that the device has completely cooled off before it is used again!

air jet / vibration / red light

The device also has air jet/vibration/red light functions. Press button 5 to switch on the functions. Pressing the button 5 again, the bubble function will be closed.

WARNING If you are very sensitive to heat, have cardiovascular problems, swellings, inflammations, skin irritation or skin wounds, please consult your doctor before use.

4 Miscellaneous

4.1 Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning the device, make sure that it is turned off and the mains plug is removed from the socket. Pour the water out of the device from one of the corners at the back and clean the device with a cloth when it has cooled off.

• Please do not use any aggressive substances, e.g. scouring chemicals or other washing-up liquids when cleaning. These could damage the surface.

• Store the device in a dry, cool place.

4.2 Disposal

This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste.

All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

Consult your local authority or your supplier for information about disposal.

5 Warranty

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your supplier or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non- observance of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

1. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
