IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Read the following advice carefully.
- This appliance is intended only for domestic use.
- The fuse for the socket in which the appliance is plugged must be at least 6 A.
- Never switch on the appliance without first filling it with oil or fat.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical socket before cleaning.
- Never move the appliance during use. The oil or fat becomes very hot and you could burn yourself. Wait until it has cooled off before moving it.
- Never leave the appliance unattended. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children. The appliance and various parts become very hot; use only the handles when picking up or moving the appliance.
- Always place the appliance on a stable surface and keep flammable materials away.
- Ensure that the appliance is not placed so close to the edge of the table, counter top, etc., that some- one could knock it over. Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge or on the floor, as someone may become entangled or trip over it.
- Do not place the appliance near or on a switched on hot plate.
- Keep the apoiance away from water when it is in use and when the oil or fat is still hot. When water hits oil or fat, it spatters. Always dry the food first with a paper towel and shake off as much ice as possible.
- After use, remove the plug from the outlet. NOVA TIPS
- Do not use the appliance if it is damaged. Send it to our service department.
- If the flex is damaged, this must be replaced with a special flex, type H05RN-F 3 x 0.75 mm
available from the dealer.
- The appliance is equipped with a thermal fuse. Should the thermostat fail to function properly causing the appliance to overheat, the current will cut out automatically. You must then return your appliance to the service department.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given initial supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. - The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. 8DEEP FRYING
- Before first use, thoroughly clean the appliance with hot water and a drop of washing liquid.
- Rinse with clean water and dry the appliance thoroughly. Fill the appliance with fat or vegetable oil. If you are using solid fat, first cut it into pieces and set the thermostat knob at 900 until the fat has totally melted.
- The oil level must always be between the highest and lowest level indicator, max. (1.1 litre) min. (0.8 litre). Set the thermostat knob at the desired temperature. See frying table with temperatures. The light goes off when the desired temperature has been reached.
- When the light goes out, first place of the empty basket in the oil. This prevents the food from sficking.
- Place the fc)od to be fried in the basket. For best results, the food should be dry before being placed in the basket.
- Use the removable handle to place the basket in the deep fryer. Then remove the handle from the bas- ket. IMPORTANT: check whether the handle is properly attached to the basket so that the basket will not fall off when shaking the chips (or other food).
- Slowly lower the basket into the oil to prevent the oil from bubbling up.
- Then lift the basket when the frying time has elapsed and hang it on the hook in the pan so that the oil can drip off.
- Remove the plug from the outlet.
- After use, rinse the handle and the basket and dry thoroughly.
- Once the deep fryer has totally cooled off, you can place the basket back in the deep fryer. Store the deep fryer, with closed lid, in a dry and dark place. You can leave the oil and the basket in the deep fryer.
- WARNING: The lid is only intended to keep out dust; do not use it when the deep fryer is switched on. FRYING TIPS
- For better results, use the recommended oil or fat (see table). It is not a good idea to mix together several different sorts of oil.
- Replace the oil or fat regularly, especially if it turns dark or dirty or if it starts to foam excessively. The appliance has a pouring spout so that the oil can be poured out easily. Clean the pan each time it is emptied.
- The quality of the oil or fat diminishes each time it is heated for a long period of time. Switch off the deep-fryer after use each time.
- In order to achieve good results, do not fry large quantities in one go.
- Fry a maximum of 200 grams of chips per litre of oil.
- In the case of frozen products, fry a maximum of 100 grams as the oil cools off considerably.
- Shake frozen products above the sink to get rid of surplus ice.
- When making chips from fresh potatoes, dry the chips after washing to prevent water from getting into the oil.
- Fry the chips in two turns; the first stage (pre-fry) for 5 to 10 minutes at 170°C and the second stage (final-fry) for 2 to 4 minutes at 190°C. Allow to drain thoroughly before serving.
- Do not fry too much food at once. Only cover the bottom of the basket so that the temperature of the oil does not drop. This would cause the food to absorb too much oil.
- Adhere to the prescribed deep-frying time.
- Do not put salt on the food before or during frying, but wait until the food has been removed from the basket. Salt and water will spoil the oil.
- Let the food drain thoroughly and wipe it with kitchen paper to remove any surplus fat.
- Eat the food straight away. If you have to keep the food warm for a while, do this in the oven and not in a covered dish, as condensation makes the food soggy. FRYING TABLE
This electrical fondue pan has an adjustable temperature setting and is therefore ideal for all kinds of fondue dishes, such as the traditional meat fondue as well as cheese, Chinese and chocolate fondues.
- Clean the appliance thoroughly before use in hot water with a squirt of detergent. Make sure the electrical parts do not come into contact with water.
- Rinse with clean water and dry the appliance carefully.
- Always use oil that is suitable for heating to high temperatures and replace the oil after each use. The oil level should always be between the upper and lower level indicators. (max. 1.1 l, min. 0.8 l).
- The level indicators also apply if bouillon, cheese or chocolate is used instead of oil.
- Place the fondue ring on the fondue pan to prevent the oil from spattering.
- Place the fondue pan in the middle of the table.
- For safety purposes, attach the flex to the table (see illustration). Do not forget to detach the flex before moving the pan.
- Set the temperature to 170°C for a traditional meat fondue. Adjust the temperature so that the mixture is just simmering. For cheese, Chinese and chocolate fondues, the thermostat should have a lower setting; for example 90°C.
- Cheese and chocolate in particular should be heated up gradually, otherwise the mixture will stick. Stir occasionally to obtain a smooth mixture.
- The light will go out when the desired temperature has been reached.
- Unplug the appliance after use and let the pan cool down.
- Store the fondue pan with closed cover in a dry, dark place.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER. REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET. Cleaning the outside Clean the outside of the appliance regularly with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft, clean cloth. Cleaning the inside When replacing the oil, bouillon, cheese or chocolate, you can clean the inside of the appliance at the same time. Empty the pan and clean the inside first with kitchen paper and then with a damp cloth dipped in soapy water. Rinse the inside thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of soap and then allow to dry properly. Cleaning tip: Put a cup of water and a small squirt of detergent in the pan. Set the appliance to the lowest setting and switch it on for about 10 minutes. Switch it off again and then rinse thoroughly. Cleaning other parts basket with removable handle fondue ring fondue forks Lid These parts can be washed in warm, soapy water. Do not use any abrasive cleaners, and rinse and dry well before using again. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
For fondues, we recommend replacing the oil after each use. Oil for deep- frying can be used several times. For good frying and fondue oil, the length of time the oil can be used depends on:
- How often the pan is used.
- How long the pan is used for.
- The temperature during use.
- The quantity of food (large quantities of food cause the oil to cool off too much).
- The nature of the food (e.g. spices used). 10• The cleansing of the oil during and after deep-frying and fondues. Food remnants, breadcrumbs and pieces of batter that have fallen into the oil should be removed from the oil during frying. After frying the oil should be filtered. This can be done as follows: a. Let the oil cool down. b. Drain the basket and remove it from the pan. c. Place kitchen paper in the basket. d. Filter the oil through the basket into a bowl of appropriate size. Oil that is too old has the following characteristics:
- A lower smoking point. This means that smoke develops at the normal deep frying temperature.
- An acrid taste. If the oil has one of more of these characteristics, it must be replaced. Always replace all the old oil and do not top up the pan. Old oil will spoil the new oil very quickly. Please have consideration for the quality of the drinking water and do not pour old oil down the sink, but rather keep the empty oil bottle and write "old oil" on it to avoid any confusion. Once it has cooled down, the old oil can be poured into this bottle and your local sanitation department will tell you how you can dispose of it. RECOMMENDATIONS

We hope you have many pleasant hours of fondue fun.
Ingredients for 4 people: Pure vegetable oil, e.g. corn oil, peanut oil or soya oil. Olive oil is also possible, although it has a stronger smell and flavour. 300 grams beef fillet, 300 grams chicken breast, partially cooked potatoes, partially cooked corn-cobs in slices, pieces of pepper, hot fresh bread, various sauces. 250 grams of meat per person is sufficient. Cut the meat into cubes measuring 1 x 1 centimetre.
CHINESE FONDUE IN BOUILLON
This method allows the pure flavour to emerge and can be very low in calories and very healthy. Many combinations of fish, vegetables, poultry and meat are possible. Ingredients for 4 people: 4 large prawns, 2 chicken breasts, 12 mussels, 4 fillets of sole, 100 grams filleted salmon, 8 mushrooms, 4 tomatoes, 4 shallots (semi cooked). This is only the beginning, as almost anything can be cooked in this fondue - e.g. fresh oysters or thin slices of beef sirloin. Important: Do not cut the pieces too thickly or in chunks. At the end of the meal, you can drink a small cup of the powerful bouillon in which everything has been cooked. Experiment and have fun. 11CHEESE FONDUE (WHITE WINE AND CHEESE) Based on a famous Swiss recipe. Ingredients for 4 people: 300 grams Emmenthal, 400 grams Gruyère, 4 glasses of dry white wine, 1 liqueur glass of kirsch, 1 garlic clove, pepper and salt, pinch of nutmeg, 25 grams cornflour, 1 cup of water. Wine choice: Riesling or original Swiss Fendait. Rub the pan firmly with the garlic clove, pour in the wine and bring it to the boil. Add the finely chopped or grated cheese. Stir vigorously with a wooden spatula until the mixture is very smooth and starts to boil again. Add pepper, salt and nutmeg and continue to stir well. Mix the cornflour with cold water and add this to the boiling mixture while stirring thoroughly. Turn down the heat. When the spatula is removed, the mixture should be elastic and should form threads. Finally add the kirsch and turn the fondue pan to the lowest setting.
