Why is the device not producing mist?

Check that the water tank is filled and properly locked. Ensure the adjustment knob is in an operating position. If the lamp is red, the device is in safety mode due to lack of water.

What does the red lamp mean?

The red lamp indicates the water tank is empty. Fill it with cold water and replace it correctly.

How to clean the humidifier?

Unplug the device. Clean the ultrasonic membrane with a soft brush. For limescale deposits, use distilled or boiled water. Never immerse the device in water.

Why is there a new smell?

The new smell is normal during first use. Rinse the tank and basin, then leave the device open for about 2 hours.

Can I use sparkling mineral water?

No, never use sparkling mineral water. Use cold tap water or distilled water if there is limescale.

How to prepare the water filter before first use?

Soak the water filter in salt water for 20 minutes. This softens hard water thanks to positive ions.

How to adjust the steam intensity?

Use the rotary knob. The minimum output is 60 ml/h, the maximum is 250 ml/h. Adjust according to desired humidity.

What to do if the device is very calcified?

Clean the membrane and basin regularly. Use distilled or boiled water to reduce deposits. Weekly cleaning is recommended.

Can the device be left on unattended?

No, never leave the device running unattended. Unplug it after each use.

How to store the device in summer?

Empty the tank and basin completely. Unscrew the tank cap to air. Clean the device and store it dry.

This appliance is for private and indoor use only and must not be used commercially. Please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it at a safe place. When the appliance is given to another person the instruction manual should be passed to that person, too. Only use the appliance as described in the instruction manual and pay attention to the safety information. No liability for damages or accidents will be accepted, which are caused by not paying attention to the instruction manual.

Safety information

• The appliance must only be plugged into a socket and used according the technical data given on the rating label
• Only use the appliance when the power cord or the appliance has no damage. Check before each use.
• Place the power cord in that way that the appliance can not fall down.
  The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience/knowledge, provided that are supervised or have been provided with instruction in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the resulting dangers. Children must not use the packaging as a plaything. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are 8 years or older and are supervised.
• Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the appliance and the connecting cable.
• The appliance must not be operated using a timer or a separate remote system!
• Unplug the appliance after each use or in case of a malfunction.
• Never pull at the power cord. The power cord must not be torn over edges and it must never be squeezed.

• The appliance should be switched off when the water tank is empty or when it should not be used. If the appliance is not used for longer time, it should be unplugged and cleaned.

• The manufacturer takes no responsibility for wrong usage which is caused by ignoring the instruction manual.

• Any repairs at the appliance, e.g. exchange a damaged power cord must be done by an authorized service person, to avoid any danger.

• When any abnormal smell occurs is it important to switch off the appliance and contact the service.
• Do not place the opening for the mist against any electrical appliances or sockets.
• Do not direct the air vents on sockets, furniture, books, computers, etc.
• To relocate the appliance, disconnect it from the supply system. Do not tilt or move during operation.

Before the first use:

After a longer non use of the appliance the water filter should be placed for 20 min in salty water. Positive ions make the water softer.

Filling in of water: Remove the tank. The tank cap with the water filter is opened by turning the tank cap counter-clockwise (it is located under the water tank). Then you can fill in cold water in the filler neck. Tightly close the tank cap with the water filter. Place the water tank correctly on the support so that it can properly work.

Start-up of the device:

Connect the plug with the mains socket. The water tank is lit by a blue LED. The standby operation consumes 0,8 watt.

• Adjust the appliance with the button.
• With the button you regulate the vaporization intensity

• Choose the correct level of vaporization to avoid over humidification in the surroundings of the appliance.
• You must not adjust the nozzle in the direction to sockets, electrical appliances, bookshelves or other moisture-sensitive objects.
  The red light shines if the water tank is empty.
• Please remove all water out of the tank if the appliance is not used for a couple of days to prevent the formation of mold and algae.

Cleaning

• The appliance must be cleaned more often the harder the water is. Too much lime disturbs the correct working of the appliance and leads to the formation of scale. In this case use boiled or distilled water. In any case do not use carbonated mineral water!
  Unplug the appliance first.

• The appliance must be unplugged and the water must be removed from the base and out of the water tank by opening the cover at the bottom of the water tank and pour out the water. Only close the water tank again when the appliance should be used again, else the water tank should dry up completely.
• Scale remains at the base, the transducer and the water tank should be wiped away. It is essential, that the transducer is not damaged. When there is excessive scale some scale remover should be used or fill vinegar in the bassin. After some time, depending on deposit, the scale dissolved. After this the base must be cleaned completely with clean water. The filter should be put into salty water (1 spoon salt per litre) for one day for recovery. Then rinse the filter with clear water and shake it and then let it dry.
  Steba tipp: Weekly cleaning avoids white sediments. Bacteria and germs will not have a chance! When the device is regularly used, its cleaning will be easier and quicker.
• Carefully clean the ultrasonic membrane at the bottom part with a brush. Scale reduces the atomization. Reassemble the appliance and store in a dry place up till next usage.
