Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
• To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.

Caution: The grill is hot during use!
- Place the unit on a fl at and heat-resistant surface. In the case of sensitive surfaces please place a heat-resistant board under the pan.
- Warning: Danger of fire!

Keep the unit at a safe distance from easily infl ammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. (30 cm).

Oil and fat preparations may burn if overheated.

• Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the device. Do not touch the hot sections of the device; please use the buttons and handles provided.
• Never pour water into hot fat.
• Allow the unit to cool down before you put it away.
• In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Starting-up the unit

Non-stick coating

Grease the grill plates slightly before using for the first time. Use the appliance for 10 minutes with the grill plates closed and without food (see use of the appliance). Then wipe them clean with a moist cloth.

Using the unit

1. Insert the fat collection tray in the front opening. Put the plug into an earthed 230V , 50Hz mains socket.

Mains control lamp

As soon as you have inserted the plug the green mains control lamp lights up and indicates that the device is connected to the mains.

Warm-up time

The warm-up time is approx. 5 min. During this time you should keep the grilling surfaces closed.

1. When the red control lamp lights up the grilling temperature has been reached.
2. Open the cover and place the food to be grilled. Then close the lid gently.
3. Grilling is fi nished after 8 to 10 minutes (depending on the thickness of the food being grilled).
4. Open the cover and remove the cooked food with a wooden fork or similar kitchen utensil. Do not use any sharp or cutting objects as they may damage the coating of the grill plates.
5. When food is not being grilled the grill surfaces should always be kept closed.

Switching off

In order to stop the cooking process remove the mains plug from the socket.

Cleaning

• Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
• Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
• Under no circumstances should the device be immersed in water for cleaning.

Heating Plate

• Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
• Clean the heating plate with a soft sponge and soapy water. Then wipe off with clear water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying please apply a thin film of edible oil to the surface.

Fat Collecting Pan

• Pull out of the fat collecting pan. Shake the contents out and clean the drawer in soapy water.

Housing

• Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
