Servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative. This rice cooker is intended for household use. The following instructions are applicable to 120V only: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet in only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. 1 cup indicates one level cup of rice. (about 0.18 L)

If you cook an amount of rice other than specied, the rice may not be cooked well.CautionCaution Example: Adjust water to level 3 of the "Plain" scale to cook 3 cups of plain rice.

Wash rice You can use the inner pan to wash rice.

Do not use hot water (95 °F / 35 °C or higher) for washing or cooking. Doing so may result in poor performance.

Adjust the water amount Place the inner pan on a level surface and then adjust the amount of water using the scale marked inside the pan.

Check the type of rice and menu, and perform further adjustments to make it t for your taste. How to use When cooking is complete When cooking is completeThe keep warm function starts automatically.

Do not use recipes other than those listed in the supplied COOKBOOK.

Be careful not to put more ingredients than those shown in the COOKBOOK. Doing so may result in boil-over or poor performance.

After cooking a dish with strong avor, the odor may linger in the cooking plate.

After cooking a dish with strong color, the cooking plate may be stained by ingredients.

Do not use sharp tools such as a knife or fork inside the cooking plate.

Set the cooking plate in the inner pan and close the lid

Prepare the ingredients and put them in the cooking plate

Try not to pile them up, but spread them out in the cooking plate. Doing so may result in boil-over or poor performance.

Do not open the lid while cooking.

Remove the cooking plate and loosen the rice

Do not keep rice warm with the cooking plate left inside.

The cooking plate will be hot after cooking, so be careful when removing.

Do not tilt the cooking plate when removing. Doing so may cause contents to spill out, resulting in a burn.

Once you remove the cooking plate, do not return it to the inner pan. Doing so may cause the rice to spoil or disturb the keep warm function. ON19 How to use How to use "Slow Cook" Refer to the supplied COOKBOOK for the cooking recipe. The cooker heats the ingredients up to the boiling temperature and then reduces the heat to 93 °C / 199 °F and continues cooking. After awhile, it will reduce the temperature to 88 °C / 190 °F and continue cooking again.By gradually reducing the temperature, the seasonings can easily soak into the ingredients. There is no worry of boiling down even if the ingredients are heated for a long time.This menu is suitable for dishes that have relatively large volume and need to simmer for a long time.

Be careful when making menus other than those listed in the supplied COOKBOOK. Some dishes may cause boil-over.

Stir ingredients well before cooking to prevent the seasonings from concentrating at the bottom of the inner pan.

When you cook a dish using boiled sauce, cool the sauce down once before you start cooking.

If you want to add some thickness to the dish with starch, use it at the last step of the cooking.

Put the ingredients in the inner pan and close the lid

Press the [Slow Cook / Steam] key zSlow cooking starts. zWhen 2 hours have passed after heating is started, the Slow Cook / Steam lamp turns OFF and the Keep Warm lamp turns ON automatically. zIf you want to stop heating before then, press the [Off / Cancel] key. The Slow Cook / Steam lamp turns OFF, and the Keep Warm lamp turns ON.

When you add steaming time, make sure there is enough water available for steaming. Add some water to avoid dry boiling.

If ingredients are not steamed thoroughly, add steaming time and check again later.

If meat and sh are steamed too long, they will become hard. If short-time steaming does not work well, cut the pieces thinner before steaming.

Be sure to wrap sh and the like with foil before steaming. Failure to do so may result in boil-over. OFF23 How to use How to clean the rice cooker Clean the rice cooker following the steps shown on pages 23 and 24. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative. Wash all parts by hand. Do not use a dish washer to wash parts. We recommend that you clean the rice cooker within the day you use it. This can help extend the life of your rice cooker. It is also recommended that you clean the rice cooker periodically.

When using the slow cook function, because odors can easily linger, be sure to clean the cooker within the day of use. (Refer to page 24) Before cleaning, remove the plug and wait until the cooker has cooled down.Use kitchen detergent (for dishes and kitchen tools) to wash parts.Choose a sponge or cloth made of soft materials for cleaning.1. To prevent corrosion and odor, always keep the inner pan and the lid clean.

Start cleaning only after you have removed parts.

Do not soak the pressure control cap, measuring cup, or rice paddle in hot water.

Do not use a dishwasher/dryer.
