How to turn on and use the Shotsaver SLR500 rangefinder?

To turn on the device, press and hold the Power button. To measure a distance, look through the viewfinder, aim at the object with the reticle, then hold the button down until the distance is displayed. The device automatically turns off after 30 seconds of inactivity.

How to change the measurement unit between meters and yards?

Look through the viewfinder and press the Mode button until the desired unit appears. 'Y' stands for yards and 'M' stands for meters.

What does the '---' display in the viewfinder mean?

The '---' display indicates that the device could not measure the distance, either because you missed the target or due to a weak laser transmission. In this case, aim at the object again to get a measurement.

What is the accuracy of the Shotsaver SLR500 rangefinder?

The accuracy is ± 1 meter (or ± 0.2%). It can be affected by poor weather conditions (rain, snow, fog). Large and reflective objects yield better results.

How to know when the battery needs to be replaced?

A low battery icon appears in the viewfinder when the battery needs to be replaced. Use a CR2 3V lithium battery.

Is the Shotsaver SLR500 rangefinder waterproof?

No, it is not waterproof. It can be used in light rain, but it must be dried immediately after use and stored in a dry place. Do not expose it to prolonged moisture.

How to clean the rangefinder lens?

Thank you for purchasing a Shotsaver SLR500 laser range finder. The Shotsaver SLR500 has been designed to give you instant and accurate distance readings in meters or yards to almost any object* around the golf course including trees, bunkers and most importantly, the flag on the green.

The Shotsaver SLR500 incorporates a high quality Object Lens with a magnification of 6x in conjunction with super accurate laser measuring technology. Simple to use the Shotsaver SLR500 will provide accurate distance readings up to 350 yards when targeting the flag and up to 800 yards when targeting larger objects such as bunkers and trees.

Please note that for the Shotsaver SLR500 laser range finder to obtain a distance to an object it must be visible and in line of sight.

How to use your Shotsaver SLR500 laser range finder

1. Insert the battery included into the battery compartment.
2. Power on the unit by pressing and holding the power button
3. To calculate the distance to an object look through the viewfinder and fix the 'target box' on it. Press and hold the power on/off button whilst keeping the 'target box' fixed on the object until the distance appears in the view finder.

1. Power off. The Shotsaver SLR500 will power off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Operation tips

1. When trying to obtain the distance to the flag try moving the 'target' box over and around it so that you are sure the distance displayed is the distance to the flag and not perhaps larger objects such as trees and bushes that may be behind it. If you are still not sure whether the distance calculated to the flag is correct, try aiming and calculating the distance to the trees or bushes behind the flag intentionally and then aim and calculate the distance to the flag again. If the distance to the flag is shorter you will know that the distance obtained is correct.
2. To adjust the clarity of the target and viewfinder on-screen graphics, look through the viewfinder and turn the rubber eye piece clockwise or anti-clockwise as required.

PLEASE NOTE: Whilst it is safe to use your Shotsaver SLR500 in light rainy conditions it is not waterproof. If using your Shotsaver SLR500 in rainy conditions ensure that you dry it immediately after use and store it in a dry place. Do not expose your Shotsaver SLR500 to wet or damp conditions for prolonged periods of time as it may cause permanent damage to the device.

How to switch on Pole Position technology'

Shotsaver SLR500 comes with Pole Position technology which enables it to calculate the distance to the flag even when there are large bushes and trees in close proximity immediately behind it.

To check if Pole Position technology is already active, look through the view finder for the Pole Position flag icon. If the flag icon is already visible, Pole Position technology is already active. If you cannot see the flag icon, press the Mode button once and the flag icon should now be displayed.

How to change to the unit type between meters and yards

1. Look through the view finder and then press and hold the Mode button until the unit type you require is displayed. 'Y' indicates yards. 'M' indicates meters.

If the target is missed or the laser reflection is poor the distance reading will be displayed as'---' If this is displayed please re-target the object again to calculate the distance.

PLEASE NOTE: that the accuracy of Shotsaver SLR500 can be effected by poor weather conditions such as rain, snow or fog. The larger and more reflective the service is of the object you are targeting, the more accurate the distance reading will be. Shotsaver SLR500 can only calculate the distance to objects you can see clearly through the view finder and that are within your line of sight.

If you need to return the device to us under warranty please ship it to the address below together with proof of purchase.
