- in the immediate vicinity of pipes or containers which carry or contain combustible or potentially explosive substances;

- if the minimum distances from adjoining surfaces of objects are not met.

- The appliance must not under any circumstances be operated if work such as the laying of floor, polishing, sealing, cleaning with petrol and maintenance of floors (spray, wax) and similar is being carried out in the room where it is installed. Afterwards, the room must be sufficiently ventilated before the heater is operated.

- The surface of the appliance gets hot when it is in operating (approx. 80 °C). There is a risk of burns!

- If it is intended that children or persons with restricted physical, sensory, or mental capacity should operate the appliance, it must be ensured that this is only done after appropriate instruction has been provided by the person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

- Do not cover the device!

Combustible or inflammable objects, such as containers of wax or petrol, aerosols and such like, must not be placed on or in the immediate vicinity of the appliance. Risk of their catching fire!

- For objects of all kinds, such as newspapers, furniture, curtains and drapes or other combustible materials, the following minimum distances from the heater must be observed:

Air exit grill on Hot-water heating element on all sides 150 mm

- The surface of the BHC may be hot even when it is switched off.

• the radiator does not get warm?

Check whether...

... the ON/OFF button1) is switched on.

... the appropriate fuse in your fuse box has been connected or the residual current circuit breaker has switched off.

... the thermostatic valve has been opened.

... there is too much air in the heater. Bleed the heater via the air bleed 25k (

Remove the cause!

If the heater still does not warm up, call a qualified installer.

Switch the radiator off and then on:

– the LED indicator "appliance heating up" flashes 3 times, the measuring probe is damaged.

Call a qualified installer.

— the LED indicator "appliance heating up" flashes 5 times, the mains voltage to the appliance is too high.

Switch the heating element off. Call a qualified installer.

• the rapid heater switches off too early?

Check whether the dust filter (11) and/or air exit grill on the rapid heater is obstructed.

If necessary, clean them. (see part 1.5)

If the room temperature is too high, the rapid heater automatically switches off early for safety reasons, in order to avoid damage. Above 1000 metres above mean sea level, this may occur repeatedly because of the thinner air, which means that the air heats up more quickly.

In each case, take the following steps to restart the appliance::

-switch off the appliance by means of the ON/OFF button;

—wait at least 10 minutes before switching on the appliance again.

- when the sevice technician has been called?

Inform the service technician about the type of unit (Typ) and it's number (Nr.) that is found on the rating plate (27)!

The appliance must not:

  • Be operated in areas which are subject to the risk of fire or explosion due to chemicals, dust, gases or vapours;
  • Be operated in the immediate vicinity of pipes or containers which carry or contain combustible or potentially explosive substances;
  • Be operated, at less as the minimum clearance distances advised.

In workshops or other areas in which the odour of waste gases, oil, petrol, etc. might occur, or in which work is carried out involving solvents and chemicals, there is a risk of sustained odour burdens being engendered, and possibly of dirt contamination occurring.

- The appliance should only be installed on a vertical wall resistant to temperatures above 90 °C

To avoid danger to very small children, the unit must be installed so that the lowest crossbar is at least 600 mm above the floor!

  • The installation wall must have sufficient load-bearing capacity (appliance weight, see "Specifications").
  • Observe the minimum distances from adjoining surfaces of objects.
  • The appliance should not be installed immediately below a wall socket.
  • All electrical connection and installation work must be carried out in accordance with the VDE regulations (0100), the regulations of the competent water and electricity supply companies as well as the appropriate national and regional regulations.
