How to use the TEAM EK 9 egg cooker?

Place the base on a horizontal surface, choose the number of eggs, fill the boiling pan with cold water using the measuring cup according to the desired level (soft, medium, hard). Pierce the eggs with the cup's needle, place them on the egg holder, then the lid. Plug in, turn on the switch. At the end of cooking, the appliance beeps and turns off automatically. Unplug, remove the lid and rinse the eggs with cold water.

How much water for soft-boiled eggs?

Use the graduated measuring cup. For soft-boiled eggs (SOFT/WEICH/MOLLET), fill to the graduation corresponding to the number of eggs (e.g., graduation 2 for 2 eggs).

How many eggs can be cooked at once?

The appliance can cook up to 7 eggs simultaneously, thanks to the 7 graduations on the measuring cup.

What to do if eggs crack during cooking?

To avoid this, always pierce the eggs with the needle under the measuring cup before cooking. This allows steam to escape and prevents cracks.

How to clean the appliance after use?

Unplug and let cool. Never immerse the base in water. Clean the boiling pan and egg holder with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive detergents. The lid and accessories can be hand washed.

How to descale the boiling pan?

Mix a teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of water. Pour into the pan, heat without lid for 10 minutes. Unplug, let cool, empty and rinse thoroughly.

Does the appliance turn off automatically?

Yes, at the end of cooking, a beep sounds and the indicator light goes out. The appliance switches off automatically. It is advisable to turn off the switch and unplug.

Can I use liquids other than water?

No, use only cold water. Do not add salt or vinegar during cooking (except for descaling outside of cooking). The appliance is designed to cook chicken eggs with water.

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.

From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician ^[1] . Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service ^[2] .

☐ Never immerse the motor base of your appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place any piece of your appliance into the dishwasher.

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.

☐ Make sure the appliance is unplugged before inserting, removing or cleaning one of the accessories. It is absolutely necessary to remove the accessories before cleaning them.

☐ Only cook chicken eggs and nothing else.

☐ Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance. Never touch the hot parts of the appliance, make use of the plastic handles. Always use gauntlets when handling the appliance. Make sure nothing comes into contact with the heating element of the appliance.

Before using the appliance, always check the water level in the water tank. This water is vital as it is used for the cooking. Before filling the water tank, always unplug the appliance. Never spill water on the resistor and do not exceed the maximum water level indicated in the water tank.

☐ Be careful not to hurt yourself with the needle (situated underneath the measuring cup) that serves for piercing the egg before cooking it, as it is very sharp. Make sure it is always clean as it comes into direct contact with food.

□ Never move the appliance when it is in use.

☐ Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.

FIELD OF APPLICATION/OF OPERATION

• Use the appliance for domestic purposes only and in the way indicated in these instructions.
• This appliance is intended to be used for domestic applications and similar applications such as:
  Kitchen corners reserved for personnel in shops, offices and other professional environments.
  Farms.
  The use by clients of hotels, motels and other environments with a residential character.
  Environments of the "bed and breakfast" type.

IMPORTANT

• The cooking time depends on the number of eggs and their size.
- With respect to the content of mineral in the water of your region you may see a slight decolourisation of the egg shell. This does not affect the taste or the quality of the egg.

• Take the appliance out of the gift box. Clean the boiling dish with a damp cloth.
- Put the egg boiler on an even surface.
- Choose the number of eggs that you want to cook. Use the measuring cup to fill the boiling dish with cold water.
- Put the egg rack onto the boiling dish.
- Pierce the rounded end of the eggs with the egg piercer, which you will find on the bottom of the measuring cup, and place the eggs onto the egg rack. Using the egg piercer prevents the eggs from cracking during boiling.
- Please be very careful when using the egg piercer as the needle is very sharp.
- Place the lid on top of the egg boiler and connect the egg boiler to an earthed mains socket. Please make sure that the mains socket has 230 V AC. Press the switch. The pilot light will switch on, indicating that the appliance is heating.
- In order to avoid burns, keep away your hands from the steam vent in the lid while the egg boiler is in use.
- When the eggs are ready, a bell will ring and the pilot light will go out indicating that the eggs are ready. For the bell to stop ringing, switch off the appliance and unplug it.
- Remove the lid using the handle. Take the egg rack and rinse the eggs with cold water and let them cool down.
• If you use your appliance several times, let it cool down after each use.

MEASURING THE WATER

• The measuring cup indicates three different water levels: SOFT/WEICH/MOLLET - MEDIUM/MITTEL/MEDIUM - HARD/HART/DUR. Each water level is divided into seven.
• If you want to cook 2 soft eggs, fill the measuring cup until the number 2 of the "SOFT/WEICH/MOLLET" level and so on. This is valid for soft, medium and hard eggs.

SECURITY AND MAINTENANCE

• Please let the appliance cool down before cleaning and rinsing it.
• In order to take off limestone deposits of the boiling dish, you should add 1 coffee spoon of vinegar and 1 glass of water. Then, operate the appliance for ten minutes without lid.
• Unplug the appliance and wait until it has cooled down. Pour away the liquid. Rinse the appliance thoroughly.
• Clean the housing and the non-stick surface with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.
• In order to store the cord, wrap it around the cable storage, which you will find on the bottom of the appliance.
