• Before putting the appliance into operation, please read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

• The Venta airwasher is a domestic appliance for humidifying and purifying the air in homes, offices and at leisure facilities. Using the appliance for something other than the intended pur- pose can endanger health and lives.

• The manufacturer is not liable for personal injury or damage to property brought about by care- less or improper use..

• In particular, the appliance must not be used in the following circumstances: in rooms or locations where there is risk of explosion; in rooms where there is an aggressive atmosphere; in rooms where there is a high concentration of solvents; in rooms with considerable quantities of dust in the air; in the vicinity of swimming pools or other wet areas.

• Only plug the appliance into suitable power outlets - the voltage must correspond to the details of the model on the appliance.

• Never use the airwasher if it has a damaged plug or cable, or after it has malfunctioned or been dropped or damaged in any other way.

• Repairs to electrical appliances should only be carried out by professional specialists. Amateur repairs could result in significant danger to the user.

• The appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sen- sory or mental abilities or experience and/or knowledge unless under the direct supervision of a person responsible for their safety, or have received instructions on the use of the appliance. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the appliance as a toy.

• Do not sit on the appliance and do not place any objects on it.

• Do not push any foreign objects into the appliance.

• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

• Never unplug the appliance by pulling at the cable or pulling the plug out with wet hands.

• Unplug the appliance when it is not in use.

• Whenever the appliance is cleaned or serviced or repositioned it must first be unplugged from the socket.

• The airwasher should only be operated when it is completely assembled.

• Place the airwasher on a stable surface which is flat and dry.

• Ensure the appliance is at least 50cm from any objects such as furniture or walls.

• Place the appliance so that it cannot be knocked over, and so that no one can trip over it or its lead.

• Only add original Venta additives to the water. Venta-Luftwäscher GmbH accepts no liability for damage which may be caused by the use of other additives. Dear Customer, The Venta System of Airwashing offers world-wide unique technology. The Venta Airwasher does away with filter pads and is thus extremely hygienic. Unique method of operation: Bad, dry air is drawn into the appliance. Rotating disc stacks with a total surface area of 4.2 sq m occupying the minimum possible space ensure that the dry air is humidified by clean water evap- orating. Dirt particles down to 10µm (10/1,000 mm) in size are retained in the water. There are no filters to become contaminated. The Venta filter is water - renewed every day, and with a consis- tently high purifying/humidifying performance year after year. CE 2011_. 14.05.11 13:40 Seite 910 Maintenance and cleaning The appliance must always be unplugged from the socket before it is cleaned or serviced! Daily Top up the appliance with fresh water. Every 10-14 days Fig. 4 Pour out the any remaining water. Brush off any sediment in the lower housing and rinse out. Rinse disk stacks with water. Refill the lower housing of the unit with water (tap water quality) as described above. Recharge with Venta hygiene additive. Dosage: see the markings on the back of the bottle. This appliance has an automatic shut off! As soon as the upper housing is removed, the appliance will turn off. All residues in the lower section and on the disk stack (white, greenish-yellow or brown- ish deposits) does NOT impair operation of the Venta Airwasher. Adding Venta hygiene additive guarantees perfect hygienic operation. Every six months We recommend a yearly general cleaning with the Venta Cleaner. This is specifically formulated for use with the plastics used in constructing Venta appliances. Please only use chemicals approved for use by Venta-Luftwäscher GmbH. Please follow the instructions on the bottle. General cleaning Fig. 5 Switch the appliance off and unplug it from the mains socket. To open the upper housing, press the locking catches (see arrows). Fig. 6 Open up the ridged sides first, next open up the end caps (with light pressure). Before first use Fig. 1 Remove the upper housing. Take the transport protection out of the upper housing. Take out the disc stacks. Remove the transport protection from the lower housing. Take the sample pack from the lower housing. Putting into operation

• Place the airwasher on a dry and level surface at least 50 cm from the walls, furniture and any other objects.

• Check that the mains power lead is not damaged in any way. Fig. 2 Replace the disc stacks. Fill the lower housing to the marking indicated (approx. 5 cm from the rim of the housing). Add the entire contents of one sample bottle of Venta hygiene additve (50 ml). Fig. 3 Replace the upper housing. Plug the appliance into the mains and switch it on. • Please turn off and unplug before cleaning or servicing.

• Do not disassemble the motor housing, do not submerse the motor housing or bring in contact with water in any way.

• Motor housing, fan and gear can be wiped off with a dry cloth.

• The outer shell of the upper housing can be cleaned with water and the Venta-Cleaner.

• Ensure that all pieces are completely dry before re-assembling! Fig. 8 Replace motor housing with fan facing down and the power cord facing the end cap with the hinged door. (Please note: the latches on the motor housing should still be depressed, as during disassembly, see detail in circle.). Thread power cord through the hinged door (A) on the end cap (see detail in circle). Fig. 9 Then, close up the end caps, followed by the ridged sides; ensuring all sides are fitted firmly under the latches.
