HOW TO USE THE CHOCOLATE FONDUE APPLIANCE
This fondue appliance can be used with a variety of chocolates or sauces. Depending on your taste, you can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate etc. For your preparation you can use either special chocolate for chocolate fountains/chocolate fondue, or normal chocolate which you will have to cut into small pieces. Depending on the type of chocolate used, the necessary quantity of cooking oil may vary from the standard amount to double this amount.
- Put the removable bowl in the base of the appliance and plug it into a wall socket.
• To start, put the switch in position "I" in order to preheat the appliance.
• Let the unit warm up for at least 5 to 7 minutes before adding the melted chocolate.
• In the meantime, prepare the chocolate as follows:
Combine the chocolate cut into pieces with cooking oil (for example canola oil) in a saucepan. Heat the preparation in a bain-marie and let it melt. Stir regularly until you obtain a nice hot liquid chocolate without lumps.
The chocolate needs to be completely melted and must be of a thin consistency before pouring it into the fondue appliance. CAUTION: NEVER pour the chocolate into the base of the appliance but ALWAYS into the removable bowl.
To check the consistency of the chocolate, dip a large spoon into the chocolate. The chocolate should flow smoothly off the back of the spoon. If the preparation is too thick, add more oil; if the preparation is too thin, add a little more chocolate. CAUTION: chocolate burns very easily; keep an eye on the chocolate when it is melting.
- Once the chocolate is completely melted and is of the proper consistency, pour it into the removable bowl.
- Put the switch in position "II" in order to activate the heating function.
- You can now dip fruit pieces, marshmallows or cookies in the chocolate fondue to coat them with melted chocolate.
CHOCOLATES/CHOCOLATE BONBONS
If you wish to make chocolates/chocolate bonbons, prepare the chocolate just like for a chocolate fondue, but pour it into the silicone moulds and then put the moulds in a refrigerator for a few hours.
Tip: if after having made a chocolate fondue there is some leftover melted chocolate, put it in the silicone moulds and make chocolates of it.
