How to use the steam function?

To use steam, set the thermostat to a high temperature (at least wool/silk). Use the steam volume regulator (3) to adjust the flow. The iron produces steam in horizontal position. You can also use the steam jet button (5) for an extra burst of steam.

Can I use tap water?

No, use only distilled water. Tap water or other liquids (battery water, perfumes, etc.) can damage the appliance and leave deposits on the laundry.

How to fill the water tank?

Always unplug the appliance before filling. Set the steam regulator to position 'C' (no steam). Place the iron flat or on the base, open the filling cover (2) and gently pour distilled water up to the MAX mark (14). Do not exceed this level.

What does the indicator light mean?

The indicator (10) lights up when the iron is heating. It turns off when the operating temperature is reached. You can then start ironing.

How to use the vertical steam function?

Hang the garment on a hanger. Hold the iron about 3-5 cm from the fabric and press the steam jet button (5) intermittently. Never direct steam towards a person.

Why is water leaking from the soleplate?

This can happen if the temperature is too low for steam. The anti-drip function automatically cuts off steam below a certain temperature. Increase the temperature or reduce the steam volume.

How to clean the iron?

Unplug and let it cool completely. Clean the soleplate with a slightly damp cloth. Use the self-cleaning function: fill the tank halfway with distilled water, heat to maximum, unplug, then swing the iron over a sink while pressing the steam button until the tank is empty. Then iron a clean cloth.

How to store the iron after use?

Turn the thermostat to MIN, unplug the cord. Empty the water tank to prevent leaks. Let it cool completely before storing. Place the iron in an upright position or on its base.

What are the important safety precautions?

Never leave the iron plugged in unattended. Do not touch the hot soleplate. Do not immerse the appliance in water. Use only on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Unplug before filling the tank.

How to adjust temperature for different fabrics?

Use the thermostat (12): MIN to turn off, low temperature for synthetic/nylon, medium for wool/silk, high for cotton/linen. Always start with the most delicate fabrics.

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

WARNING:

• The sole plate becomes hot quickly and requires a long time to cool down. Do not touch.
• Choose a secure surface for the stand! The surface must be level and stable. Check the surface again for stability.
• The iron must be used and rested on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
• When not in use, place the iron in an upright position or onto the supplied stand.

• Before filling the water tank (13), disconnect from the mains.

• The tank should only be filled up to the maximum mark (14).
  Do not overfill! Maximum water filling quantity: 220 ml.

• This device should only be used for ironing garments and textiles!
• Please use only distilled water.
• The iron must not be left unsupervised while it is connected to the mains.
• The iron may not be used if it has been dropped, if there is visible damage or if it leaks.

Instructions

Unpacking

1. Remove any protective foils and stickers from the soleplate.
2. Please unwind the lead completely.

Set up / assemble the stand (8)

Use the supplied stand for resting the iron securely on it.

A screw clamp is integrated onto the underside of the stand. Use this to secure the stand to your ironing board or to a table.

1. Pull the screw clamp out of the clamp socket and fold out through 180^ . Push the screw clamp firmly into the other clamp socket until it clicks into place.
2. Set the stand onto your work surface. Turn the screw clockwise.
3. To disassemble the stand, loosen the screw by turning anticlockwise. Stow the screw clamp back into the recess on the bottom of the stand. Push it into the clamp socket until it clicks into place.

Electrical connection

• Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the line voltage match.
• The mains plug should only be inserted into a correctly installed 230V 50Hz socket with earthing contact.

Connected Wattage

The station has a total maximum wattage of 2000 W. With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.

CAUTION:OVERLOAD!

• If you use extension leads, these should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5mm^2
• Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too powerful.

Temperature Control on the Iron (12)

The symbols on the control correspond to the following settings:

Water

Please use only distilled water.

Do not fill battery water, water from the clothes dryer and water containing additives (such as starch, perfume, softener or other chemicals) into the water reservoir.

This could damage the iron due to residues forming in the steam chamber. These residues may cause impurities to the fabric when dropping out of the holes in the soleplate.

Water Tank (13)

The tank volume is 220ml

1. Set the steam volume regulator (3) to the " position (no steam).
2. Set the iron onto the stand or hold it horizontally.
3. Check the MAX mark (14).
4. Fill the water reservoir at the refill opening (2). Close the lid of the tank.

Operation

iNOTE:

Always set the temperature control to "MIN" before connecting the appliance to a power point, or before disconnecting it.

Before Initial Use

• Clean the ironing base with a slightly damp cloth.
• In order to remove all residues before initial use, please pass the iron a few times over an old clean cloth.

Ironing without cord

You can iron without the cord with or without steam.

The preset temperature is maintained for around 50 seconds when ironing without the cord. If you want to continue ironing at this temperature, the iron must be heated up again. To do so, place it back onto the stand.

Ironing without steam

NOTE:

Sort out the garments according to their ironing temperatures.

1. Set the steam volume regulator (3) to the "position (no steam).
2. Rest the appliance on the stand or stand upright.

3. Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230V 50Hz

4. Set the temperature on the temperature control (12). If you have sensitive items to iron, please begin with the lowest temperature.

NOTE:

The control lamp (10) on the iron shows that it is heating up. As soon as the control lamp goes off the operating temperature has been reached. Now you can start ironing.
5. Always turn the temperature control to "MIN" after use and remove the mains plug (The control lamp goes off).

Steam Ironing

WARNING:

The steam is hot. Danger of scalding!

NOTE:

• For this a high temperature is needed. Turn the temperature control (12) at least to the "symbol.
• When ironing at low temperatures, reduce the volume of steam or iron without steam. Use the steam volume regulator (3) to regulate the volume of steam.
• If the temperature is too low water may leak from the soleplate. The appliance is however equipped with an "anti-drip function". Thus the steam function is switched off if the selected temperature is too low.

• Steam escapes as soon as the iron is in a horizontal position.

• Extra steam can be added with the steam jet function. Press the steam jet button (5) intermittently.

Spray Function

• In order to moisten a section of a garment to be ironed, press the spray button (4) intermittently.

Vertical Steam function

This can be used to produce a jet of steam in a vertical direction.

WARNING:

Never direct the steam jet at people. Risk of burning!

• Hang your laundry on a clothes hanger and move the iron to approximately 3-5 cm away.
• Press the steam jet button (5) intermittently.

Refilling the water tank

CAUTION:

Always disconnect the mains plug before refilling water.

1. Set the steam volume regulator (3) to the "position (no steam).

2. Set the iron onto the stand or hold it horizontally.

3. Open the lid of the refill inlet and carefully pour in the water.

4. Do not exceed the maximum line (14) as marked on the water reservoir.
5. Close the lid of the tank.

Self-Cleaning

1. Half fill the water tank with water.
2. Heat the machine up to its maximum temperature. After the control lamp goes off remove the machine from the mains supply.
3. Now hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Set the steam volume regulator to the " position. Rock the iron back and forth until the tank is empty.
4. Set the appliance onto the stand or set it vertically. Heat the appliance up again. To clean the base now iron over a clean cotton cloth.

When you have finished

1. Always turn the temperature control to "MIN" after use and remove the mains plug (The control lamp goes off).
2. Empty the water tank in order to prevent the contents of the tank leaking.
3. Allow the device to cool down before you put it away.

Cleaning

WARNING:

Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
- Wait until the machine has cooled down completely!
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.

• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

• Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.

• Clean the sole plate and the rest with a slightly damp cloth.
