How to descale the Clatronic WK 2950 kettle?

Use a descaling product based on citric acid. Follow the indicated doses. Never use vinegar. Then rinse several times with clear water.

What water to use in the kettle?

Use only cold tap water. Do not fill beyond the MAX mark. The level should be between MIN and MAX.

Can I boil milk or other liquids?

No, the kettle is designed only for heating water. Any other liquid may damage it and poses a risk of burns.

The kettle turns off before the water boils, what to do?

This is a sign that descaling is necessary. Follow the descaling procedure with a citric acid-based product.

How to clean the descaling filter?

Lift the filter by the tab located on top. Rinse it under tap water to remove limescale deposits. Replace it before use.

The kettle leaks, what to do?

Check that the lid is properly closed and that the water level does not exceed MAX. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Can I use the kettle without the base?

No, the kettle must always be placed on its base to operate. The base ensures electrical connection and stability.

How to open the lid?

Press the button located on top of the lid. It then opens automatically. Do not force it.

The water level indicator does not work, why?

Check that the kettle is correctly positioned on the base. If the problem persists, it may be a technical defect; contact customer service.

What to do if the kettle does not turn on?

Make sure the plug is properly inserted and the appliance is properly engaged on the base. Check the on/off button. If nothing happens, take it to a qualified technician.

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
• To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

• Use only cold water when fi lling.
• The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks!
• Do not exceed the MAX mark when fi lling, otherwise the water may boil over and cause burns!
• Use the appliance only on a level work surface.
• Only use the kettle with the accompanying base.
• Switch the machine off before removing it from the base.
  Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
• The base and exterior of the machine must not become wet.

First Use of the Machine

• Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place.

• Before using for the first time, boil fresh water at least twice in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or ingredients.

Use

1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Fill only up to the maximum mark (MAX). You can check the level on both sides of the appliance with the water level display.
3. Close the lid.
4. Place the kettle fl ush on the base.

6. Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as that of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.

7. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety socket.

8. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. The control lamp in the switch lights up. The control lamp in the water tank lights up.

9. When the water is boiling the kettle switches itself off automatically unless you press the switch to interrupt or stop the water from boiling. Disconnect the kettle from the mains. When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed. Danger of scalding!

Cleaning

Always pull out the plug from the socket before cleaning!
- The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
- For cleaning purposes the lime fi iter can be removed by pulling upwards by the tab. Remove the lime deposits by rinsing the fi iter under running water.

Decalcification

• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcifi cation agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

This device has been tested according to all relevant current CE guidelines, such as electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directives, and has been constructed in accordance with the latest safety regulations.

The device supplied by our Company is covered by a 24 month guarantee starting on the date of purchase (receipt).

During the life of the guarantee any fault of the device or its accessories *) ascribable to material or manufacturing defects will be eliminated free of charge by repairing or, at our discretion, by replacing it. The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee!

Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.

*) Damage to accessories does not mean automatic free replacement of the whole machine. In such cases please contact our hotline. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts are always subject to a charge.

Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing (e.g. motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc.) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!

The guarantee lapses in case of unauthorized tampering.

After the expiry of the guarantee

After the expiry of the guarantee repairs can be carried by the competent dealer or repair service against the payment of the ensuing costs.
