USER MANUAL TM1304 Tomado
- Read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place.
- Only use the appliance as described in this manual.
- Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- Children must be strictly supervised to prevent them from treating the appliance as a toy.
- Only have the appliance repaired by a qualified service centre. Electricity and heat
- Before use, check that the mains power supply voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance.
- Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
- Regularly check the power cord for damage. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Have a damaged power cord replaced by a qualified service centre.
- To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the power cord.
- Make sure the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces or steam.
- Always unplug the appliance before moving it or when it is not in use.
- If you use an extension lead, use an earthed extension lead that is suitable for a 5 A current.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquid (does not apply to accessories).
- Do not touch the appliance if it has fallen into water. Remove the plug from its socket, turn off the appliance and do not use it again.
- Do not use the appliance close to hot objects such as a stove or oven.

- The appliance is only intended for domestic use. It is not suitable for professional use.

- Only use this appliance indoors, in dry areas away from water.
- Make sure there is sufficient ventilation around the appliance. If possible, use an extractor fan.
- Do not place the appliance directly under a plug socket.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level surface where it cannot fall to the floor.
- Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and not, for example, on varnished furniture.
- Place the appliance at least 50 cm from a wall or combustible materials (such as curtains, paper or cloths).
- Position the power cord so that nobody can trip over it or pull it.
- Do not leave products in the appliance too long. Otherwise, they may burn and produce smoke.
- Never use sharp utensils in the appliance, as you may permanently damage the non-stick coating.

8. Power cord with plug
OPERATION General Information This appliance is designed to bake wafers. bEFORE uSING FOR THE FIRST TIME Remove the appliance from the packaging material. Clean the appliance. See ‘Cleaning and maintenance’. Place the appliance on a level, stable surface. Insert the plug into the mains power socket. The red status lamp will glow to indicate that the appliance is switched on. Set the thermostat to the highest setting (to the right) and allow the appliance to heat up for five minutes. This will burn away any dust and possible manufacturing residues. The appliance may emit a little smoke while heating up. This is normal and does not indicate a problem with the appliance. Make sure the area is well-ventilated. The status lamp goes out when the appliance is ready for use (once the desired temperature has been reached). Remove the plug

Continue with the procedure in ‘Using the appliance’. uSING THE APPLIANCE Prepare the wafer batter using the recipe in the ‘Recipes’ section. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat- resistant surface. Insert the plug into the mains power socket. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature. You can raise or lower the baking temperature for your wafers at any time by adjusting the thermostat. Allow the appliance to heat up. This will take a couple of minutes. The green status lamp will dim once the reset temperature has been reached. Open the appliance by pressing in the handle on the lower side. Grease the upper and lower cooking plates with a little liquid butter or oil. Use a pastry brush, oil sprayer, or similar. Spread some batter evenly from the centre across the lower cooking plate. Close the appliance. Check regularly whether the wafer is sufficiently brown by opening the appliance. Remove the wafer from the appliance when it is finished. Do not use any sharp utensils for this purpose, as you may permanently damage the non-stick coating. Roll the wafers into the desired form while they are still hot. Allow the wafer to cool on a cooling rack. Bon appétit! PLEASE NOTE
- If your wafers brown too quickly or too slowly, adjust the thermostat.
- Do not leave products in the appliance too long. Otherwise, they may burn and produce smoke.

After use, always place the temperature-control dial in the lowest setting (to the left) and remove the plug from the plug socket. Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or storing. Clean the appliance as described in ‘Cleaning and maintenance’.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before cleaning the appliance, always unplug it from the mains power and allow it to cool down.
- Never immerse the appliance or power cord in water, or in any other liquid. This may cause an electric shock.
- Do not clean the appliance with an aggressive or abrasive cleaner or with a sharp object, such as a hard brush or a knife.
- Never insert hard or sharp objects into the appliance. This may damage the appliance.
- Always clean the appliance after use so that any food remains do not become encrusted. Clean the appliance as follows: Clean the cooking plates with a moist cloth or a soft Instruction manual TM-130419 dishwashing brush. Dry the cooking plates thoroughly with a tea towel. Use only a damp cloth to clean the appliance body. Dry it with a cloth. STORAGE Store the appliance in a dry place. Melt butter very slowly and then add the remaining ingredients – mix everything thoroughly. Add a few tablespoons of lukewarm water if necessary to make the batter workable. Repairs outside the warranty period You can always hand in your appliance to have it repaired outside the warranty period. This will of course not be free of charge. - TOMADO provides a 2-year warranty for all defects caused by hidden deficiencies which render the appliance useless for normal operation.
- The warranty runs from the date of purchase; we advise you to carefully save your receipt.
- Within the warranty period any defects in production or material will be resolved free of charge, by means of reparation, replacement of parts or replacement of the appliance as a whole.
- The warranty certificate has to be filled in by the sales person at the moment of purchase.
- Repairs will only be made under warranty in case it can proven (by means of a filled in warranty card and the receipt) that the day the complaint is filed falls into the warranty period.
- The warranty does not apply when defects or damages result from an accident, misuse, negligence (e.g. incorrect cleansing), or when repairs of alterations have been executed outside the authorized TOMADO service centre (excl. disassembling, as stated in the instruction manual).
- The warranty does not cover any defects arising when the appliance is connected to the wrong outlet voltage, not following the guidelines in the instruction manual and usual wear and tear.
- The warranty does not cover any defects arising from the lack of frequent descaling of appliances, whatever type of water has been used (especially for steam irons, coffee machines and water boilers).
