What is the capacity of the Tomado TM-9023 kettle?
The Tomado TM-9023 kettle has a capacity of 1.7 L, ideal for making up to 7 cups.
How to descale the kettle?
To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture half water half white vinegar or use citric acid. Bring to a boil, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Why won't my kettle turn on?
Check that the base is properly plugged in and the kettle is correctly positioned on it. Make sure the switch is not blocked and the safety cut-off hasn't tripped after dry boiling.
How to clean the anti-scale filter?
The anti-scale filter is removable. Remove it by pulling it upward, rinse under running water while brushing with a soft brush, then replace. Regular descaling extends its lifespan.
The kettle makes noise when boiling, is this normal?
Yes, a slight noise is normal before boiling (cavitation). A loud and persistent noise may indicate excessive limescale buildup. Perform a descaling.
Can I heat something other than water?
No, this kettle is designed only for heating water. Do not use for milk, soups or other viscous liquids.
The lid is difficult to open, what to do?
Make sure the opening button is fully pressed. If the lid remains stuck, check that no residue is blocking the mechanism and clean around the lid with a damp cloth.
The kettle leaks from the base, why?
A leak may be due to a worn seal or a filter not properly replaced. Check the filter and the lid seal. If the leak persists, contact after-sales service.
What is the material of the kettle?
The body of the Tomado TM-9023 kettle is made of stainless steel, resistant and easy to clean.
How to avoid burns when using?
Do not fill beyond the max level, use the insulated handle, and wait for the water to cool before opening the lid. Keep the kettle out of reach of children.

OPERATION

This cordless kettle quickly brings 1 litre of water to the boil. The kettle is equipped with an indicator lamp in the on/off switch, a thermostat and boil-dry protection. The level indicator clearly shows how much water is in the kettle.

USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • Remove all packaging from the appliance.
  • Clean the appliance, see 'Cleaning and Maintenance'.
  • First boil a full jug of water in accordance with the procedure in 'Using the appliance', in order to clean the jug.
  • Dispose of the boiled water. If you then refill the kettle with water, the boil-dry protection cools down and the kettle is again ready for normal use.
  • Continue with the procedure in 'Using the appliance'.

USING THE APPLIANCE

  • Use the kettle only with the supplied base.
  • Remove the kettle from its base, to avoid spilling water on the base during filling.
  • Open the lid by pressing the button on the handle and keeping it pressed down.
  • Fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum mark. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off prematurely, and too much water may result in the kettle boiling over.

  • Close the lid.

  • Place the jug on the base.
  • Insert the plug into the mains power socket.
  • Switch the appliance on by pressing the on/off switch under the handle downwards. The indicator lamp in the on/off switch will light. The kettle will switch off automatically as soon as the water boils.
  • If desired, boil the water one more time. Wait for at least 30 seconds, however, after the kettle has switched off automatically.
  • Pour the water slowly, so that any limescale particles remain behind on the limescale filter in the pouring opening. If the kettle is accidentally switched on whilst empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off again.
  • Remove the plug from the mains power socket.

Warning

If the kettle is filled above the maximum level, boiling water may splash out.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning

Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, unplug it from the electricity supply and allow it to cool down completely.

Cleaning

  • Do not clean the appliance with an aggressive or abrasive cleaner or with a sharp object, such as a hard brush or a knife.
  • Clean the exterior of the jug with a damp cloth.
    • Always clean the base with a dry cloth.
    • Take the limescale filter out of the pouring opening.
  • Rinse it under running water.
  • Reinsert the rinsed limescale filter in the pouring opening.

Please note!

Regularly descale the appliance. Depending on the hardness of the water, scale deposits may become attached to the inside of the appliance. The harder the water, the more often it is necessary to descale the appliance.

Descaling

  • Use a descaling product intended for household appliances (such as coffee makers).
  • Follow the instructions on the package.
  • Do not switch on the kettle during descaling. The descaler should be applied in cold water.
    • After descaling rinse the kettle a few times with clean water.

STORAGE

Store the appliance in a dry place.
